  1. Hi All,

I recently attended a ceremony for a friends baby where a Giani recited Japji Sahib while stirring patissa in water with a khanda. Once he finished the Japji Sahib he gave the Amrit to the baby and then to everyone else.

What is this ceremony? what significance does it have as there was no rehat maryada, no 5 pyaare, no Maharaj?

The only Amrit ceremony I know of is the ceremony laid out by Guru Gobind Singh Ji.

    what's going on?

  2. some of my pics were used as the last day presentation befor we all left :D

the pics of the bonfire were amazing ! you can actually see an eagle and what looks like a singh holding a kirpan in the flames !!!!

the guy (forgot his name) that took those pics, took some AMAZING shots !!!!!

cant wait till they online !

    what a week !

  3. what can I say about love marriages.....

It works both ways...... sometimes its good.........sometimes its bad.

Iv been with my partner for over 5 years and am getting married in a few months.

when we met we used to smoke, drink, cut our hair, eat meat.

we started going to sikhi weeks and other sikhi gatherings together..... and through each others encouragement we have stopped cuting our hair, stopped drinking, stoped smoking, stopped eating meat and have realised the power and love of sihki.

  4. coinsidence ?

I got held back a year at college, so had to repeat. my friend also got held back a year from her college, so decided to change..she ended up at my college. in that year we got together, she started goin to sikhi week.....she then got me started goin, so I stopped eating meat stopped drinking and grew my daari. she also stopped eating meat stopped drinking and smoking.

if we hadnt of met at college,we would not have got into Sikhi !!

    so Coinsidence we met ?

    what do you think?

  5. hello people. I have an open question to you all, basicaly I stoped eating meat and grew my daari about a year ago, and have recently started reading literature on Sikhi.....

some books state that a Sikh cannot eat meat...ok.

other books state that Sikhs cannot eat HALAL meat.

this is very confusing to me...

    any opinions.......
