  1. Sat Sri Akal Jee...

Do you have any idea on what is going on and how I/we can advise them that this is not simran and may also even offend some people as they seem to be taking the mick out of sikhi! I was under the inpression that we are meant to love God and not shout at God?

Are we allowed to mix bhangra and dance to bhangra ans sing shabads at the same time?

    Thanks for your time,

This to me sounds like Akhand Kirtanee Jatha (AKJ) style simran. They are taught 'saas giraas' simran by the Panj Piyare, which involves saying 'Wahe' during inspiration and 'Guru' during expiration. The resulting sound when saying simran fast is a grrrrrrr type noise. AKJ youth in particular become hyper when doing saas giraas and move thier bodies and shake their heads during raensbhais (all night kirtan).

However, the definition of saas = breathing and giraas = morsel of food. So I am not entirely sure why they give this name to a technique of simran. Also I agree with you that Simran should not be done in a manner where the listners cannot make out what is being said. Is there really a need to say gods name with such a high frequency when it sounds terrible? Whatever happened to simran where your soul achieves a state of bliss and shanti?

Some of their kirtanees regularly use tunes from hindi films and well known bhangra tunes when singing kirtan. If you attend any of their functions you will see that these tuny kirtanees are far more popular with the youth.

  2. brief conversation between a Panjab Radio presenter and Jasvir Singh (Rode)

Dr. Gurdeep Singh Jagbir (Panjab Radio) spoke with Bhai Jasvir Singh about Baba Thakur Singh Ji. Baba Thakur Singh spoke of Baba Jarnail Singh Ji and said that they are alive; and where they live they are in chardi kala.

Baba Thakur Singh Ji informed Jasvir Singh where Jarnail was residing. However when questioned Jasvir Singh remained silent about their whearabouts.

  3. the words kutha, halaal, chatka are all on this Page 73 and they all are discussed.

May I suggest an eye test Bhaji... I hear spec savers are doing a good deal at the moment?

    Gurbarkaaal

    Singh Ji,

I can assure you my eye sight is crystal clear.

The edition I have is the one published by Bhider Kalaan and Gurdwara Akhand Prakash.

I await your exact quotes, page numbers and index ref with anticipation.

Just in case we have different copies, I will cross reference your info with a Singh who lives at the Gurdwara and is a student of Baba Mohan Singh Ji.

  4. Rakash Singha

If you turn to page 73 of the “Gurbani Paath Darshan†Granth written by Siri-Maan, Panth-Rattan, Vidiya-Maartand, Sant-Giani Gurbachan Singh “Khalsa†Bhindrawale you will see that although Baba Ji warns of excessively eating meat, Baba Ji does clearly state that it is only “Kutha†or “Halaal†meat that is forbidden to the Khalsa. Baba Ji does state that Jhatka meat is allowed for the Khalsa.

    ===

Not sure where you read this quote of Sant Gurbachan Singh as I have just checked page 73 and at the bottom of the page, Guru Nanak Dev Ji writes

'puchan khol kitaab noon, vaddaa hindoo ke musalmanoiee'

this means that if one reads a book, and one becomes egotistical this is equivalent to eating meat.

secondly, if one reads mechanically this is equivalent to eating ghost meat.

finally if one reads a book with full faith and understands it, then this is equivalent to eating 'Magz' - this is for full strength..

Nowhere on Page 73 does Giani Ji mention Halal or Kutha meat as pointed out by yourself.

Please clarify your reply or provide a more accurate referfence.

The clear meaning of the Shabad is outlined on Page 74.
