when this tradition started and why is it that it is not like that at other takaths.
coz tis takht is not in punjab. after guruji, da adminstration was in hands of locals. i think tat as majority was hindus, they started doing aarti wit diwas as according 2 their religion.

Pauri 2 (Manmukh, the mind oriented and frog are identical)
It is pond full of pure and fine water wherein the lotuses blossom.
Lotuses are of beautiful form and they make the environment fragrant.
Black bees live in bamboo forest but they somehow search and get the lotus.
Greedy of nectar, they come attracted from far and wide and meet the
lotus. With the sunrise, the lotuses of the pond also turn their faces
toward sun. Frog lives in the nearby mire close to the lotus but not
understanding the real delight, it cannot enjoy like lotus. Those
unfortunate persons who listening to the teaching of the Guru in the holy
congregation do not adopt them in life are like those frogs.

One Oañkar, the primal energy, realized through
the grace of divine preceptor
Pauri l (Learning from conch — without merit)
It is said that after churning the unfathomable ocean, fourteen jewels
were brought out of it. These jewels are-moon, Sarang bow, wine,
kaustubh mani, Laksmi, Dhanvantari, the physician, fairy Rambhã, Kamadhenu,
Pãrijãt, Uchchaisrava horse and nectar offered to gods to drink. Airavat
elephant, conch and poison were distributed jointly among the gods and
the demons. All were given rubies, pearls and valuable diamonds. Out of
the ocean, conch came out empty which tells (even today) weeping and
wailing its own story that none should remain hollow and empty. In the
holy congregation even listening to the discourses and teachings of the
Guru who does not adopt them, he loses his life uselessly.

What is the meaning of Aarti?
A. Sant Giani Naranjan Singh Ji: When a person cries out in
helplessness to God from his innermost being, the words or Shabad
that comes become Aarti. It means 'benti' or 'terla' or begging in
ardas. To surrender completely to one's Guru Ji. When a human being
becomes helpless, he then surrenders. Surrender should be complete .
Aarti should be done like a servant or jachak. Worldly people have
made Aarti into an outward show.
"His Aarti, his lamp-lit worship service, is the Kirtan of His
Praises, which brings lasting bliss."
(Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee 393)

House On Fire (Emotional Attachment - Moh)
Once a gursikh was sitting in the forest intoxicated with naam when
suddenly a man from the village came running.
In between deep breaths he said, "A house is on fire."
The naami gursikh said, "Maino kee?" ("Why should I care?").
The man replied, "No, no, you don't understand. Your house is on
fire."
To that the gursikh replied, "Taino kee?" ("Why should *you*
care?").
waheguru waheguru waheguru waheguru waheguru waheguru waheguru
waheguru waheguru....
Moral:
A GurSikh is not attached to his own belongings, wereas a ManMukh is
attached to his own belongings and other peoples!
