  1. Hi das, a friend of mine had a small daughter who got signs of eczema, she was a bit older than yours maybe 8 months I think, but what she did was give her only fresh boiled food (no jars) and massaged pure mustard oil on her every day, however your baby is only four months old so I don't know about the diet, she must still be on milk.

I don't know whether you have tried switching her milk? Perhaps she is reacting to something but it's best to ask the health visitor first.

  2. Laal Singh, Gurbani is beautiful, it is full of wisdom. As you read and meditate, more and more meanings become apparent. It is also apparent that there is a paradox at work at times. In some places Guru ji says naam is recited by those who are blessed, at others Guru ji is asking for the naam himself or Vaheguru ji's glance of grace, but at others Guru ji says that as a man sows he reaps. The bhagat's also say things like "oh my mind, realise your true self, you are the jot saroop", and also instruct the person to jap naam. Sukhmani Sahib gives instructions for those wishing to alleviate various sorrows and they tend to be to either to destroy the ego, stay in the society of the the Saadhs, or do constant naam japna.

People do have choices and I understand where you are coming from Laal Singh, but Gurbani cannot be summed up by saying we have no choice, hukum also means the eternal laws of Vaheguru, or Vaheguru ji himself, for he is at one the law and the universe, according to his laws nature is at work, the planets revolve, and the human body regenerates, according to his laws certain actions equal certain reactions.

However, he has also told us that we can overcome our past and past misdeeds are forgiven or washed away with naam, that the mind which is full of dirt such as ignorance, greed, ego, envy, etc can be washed with naam.

After all that, what I was trying to say Laal Singh is, I do believe we have a choice even within Vaheguru ji's hukum, however I will read what you have to say and think some more.

I am aware that I really do not know much and am always looking to learn more.

    Thanks.

  3. I find these theories alarming. Who knows what will happen if anything, but it is true, an awful lot of people talk of the year 2012 and some people say theres no such thing as coincidence.

Why that year and none other? Even astrologers speak of the year although they just say there will be ramifications.

The foretold future looks grim to say the least, I don't understand why it has to be that way. Guru ji told us quite a bit, but I think it is awful that there might come a time when we will need to look so hard to find a singh, especially since I am married to one and have given birth to one in the making! (well if he wants to be a singh - that's up to him)

  4. I too have experienced that tying joora on top of the head and combing the hair twice a day not only results in a very small amount of tangles but also helps the hair to grow long.

Doing the above in addition to lots of meditation will yield amazing long locks.

  5. I also think you should leave it how it is.

My husband doesn't do anything to his beard apart from comb it (and obviously shampoo it when he does ishnaan) and he hasn't had a problem with jobs so far. It is fuzzy but no one cares.

People look at the whole more than the specifics, and chances are they will admire your dhara, even if you don't!

  6. I think it would be a great honour to meet a Sant. Some people wait their whole lives and never meet a saint, or they do meet one and don't realise the person was a saint.

I do actually think there are Sants that just keep quiet, do not seek glory and do good for the world without recognition.

If Guru Ji blessed me enough to have the company of a Sant or Sants I would consider myself most highly honoured.

  7. From what I understand, one way for these things to happen is when you become devoted to naam and Gurbani.

I don't know whether you can hurry along piyar and bhairag, I think they are a product of the changes that happen within a person when they start to and carry on thinking about Waheguru ji, Guru ji, do naam jaap, gurbani reading - hearing, keertan listening - doing, katha- listening, and doing seva etc

I think the body starts to resonate with amrit as a person does the above(it is after all a high percentage of water) and as Japji Sahib states that just as soap cleans clothes, so does naam clean a mind/person of paap. (this very brief translation does not do the beautiful bani any justice and I would urge you to listen to or read proper translations).

Paap, negative emotions, bad thoughts, bad karma are all said to be washed away with the power of naam. Instead positive emotions, thoughts, feelings start to become instilled, two of which are the ones you asked about. I think you can be sure you are on the right path when you start to feel alot of compassion, think there is no need to get embroiled in useless arguments, it is easier to back down and try to keep the ego in check.

However I think piyar and bhairaag happen automatically when you read the meanings/translations of Gurbani and realise just how wonderful maharaj is and just how lucky lucky you are to be learning about him and the fact that you are learning about him (i.e reading gurbani translations) means he has already blessed you. When this hits home you feel pretty special I am told.(I have not experienced this - but I am told alot)

Contemplating the reach of Waheguru ji, and realising that nothing is in our hands, all is in his, and how amazing this play of life really is and thinking of all the things we have to be grateful to him for (not forgetting each breath we take) will give you these feelings if not immediately, in time.

This is a very poor attempt at explaning what you asked about, I think the more learned members of the board would do a much better job!

  8. Also Chatanga on the second website link I gave, if you click on the Dharmik link on left hand side you will find 2 albums by Manmohan Waris.

Also if anyone is interested in the Gurmat Veechar bit you will find katha by Giani Gurbachan Singh on Chandi Di Var (four parts) and amongst others Giani Sant Singh Maskin who I think was brilliant, and it was a real highlight for me to meet him, although he didn't say anything, didn't have any kind of entourage, and just him and a friend ate at someone's house, did ardas and left. He was very quiet.
