  1. i havnt heard anyone saying any nitnem is better then anyone elses. kirpans are indeed made by people, but judging whos is better is subjective (from people who do not know proper shastar vidiya). there are differences on santhiya styles, but i havnt heard anyone outright say they are wrong.

i have heard the you are not a true singh, but again, subjective. same with the amrit.

you dont have to always be so pestimistic, if indeed everything is maharajs khel then he is smiling while everything is going on. this doesn't mean one can just sit back when bad things are happening, but the issues you are talking about you defiently do not have control over. so let it go.

when you compare to other dharmas/religions, we are divided yes, but not as much as others. atleast we are not killing ourselves in the thousands, blowing up each others gurdraway, etc. (ie. in iraq)

  2. Interesting thing to note is, the age of aquarias, which begins in 2150, the sign to mark this is a guy holding a pot or jug pouring water from it, i.e. "Aquarius The Water Bearer". Now, there are some people who believe that "global warming" is a natural phenomenon and that when that age comes, all ice will melt and there will be water everywhere

    isnt it happening 2012?

  3. Mugermach,

Yes it's possible and I've had that, many years ago. I was dreaming, and then I woke up, went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth. While at the sink, toothbrush in mouth, I woke up from this, which I realised was a dream. I then went to the bathroom exactly as before and went to brush my teeth, and then woke up yet again, in bed, in the dark. The final time I re-awoke, I had completely my morning preparations and was at the table downstairs eating breakfast. Weird.

This followed a night smoking skunk outside the bedroom window, which had seeds mixed in it (leave those seeds out, is my advice).

probably one of the funniest posts on sikhawareness ever. i shed many a tears laughing about this lol.

  4. my pesh kabz with authentic ivory on the handle set me back 12000 rupees. you can put any type of handle you want on it, ivory is extremely hard to get in india, so it cost me an extra 4000 rupees, otherwise it would be around 8000 rupees for this shastar. i know you could probably get a puratan one for around that range, but this is something that you would want to use, extremely functional.

heres of mine. mine you i had him custom make the handle so it'd be a bit smaller, however you can make yours however you want. in retrospect i would have a bigger handle (altho i do have small hands)

  5. not sure how useable those jot singh kirpans are, they are defiently a nice peice of art, but i dunno if i would want to carry it.

the shastars baldev singh makes are amazingly functional, atleast mine is, you can talk to him and specify exactly how you want it.

  6. My pesh kabz was hand made by Nihung Baldev Singh. His sons are the one who are running the website, they make amazing shastars.

I gave him a picture of a puratan pesh kabz, and he made it exactly like that.

    thumbs up!

ps, the iron they make it out of is amazing!
