I was just about to ask something similar, so instead of making a new thread i'll had to your questions, my questions where what steps must a person take on the spritual quest, how do you jap naam? is it simply reciting a mantra? what should you think about when jaaping naam? How should one behave and act with others? specialy those who may show hostility towards you.

You will gain some fal but not a lot. You will gain fal as you are reading the gurshabad but sunnan manna nidhyasan is required in order to recieve the divine

what does nidhyasan mean?

A few questions i have on my mind hopefully some people can clear my doubts.

Is there any point in reading bani if you don't understand what is being said?

Are there any benefits in reading without understanding?

If Yes what are the benefits?

Thank you for the reply Neo, but living in the west you dont really come across such sants that you can learn from (well i havent anyway) is this all due to karams of people? The meeting of such sants happens with his grace?

What is the role of a Gurdev?

Now to the forum users do any of you have a Gurdev who gives you guidence? What kind of guidence does he give? How did you come about meeting them?

If you dont have one , do you belive in the need of one?

And last but not least how do you go about finding a Gurdev?

I think it would be good if the more knowledgable people on this forum to discuss some of Harjas Kaurs views (without the childish name calling) Maybe you could start a thread as to why you think Sikhi is Sanatan or part of Hinduism in your view and then maybe a discussion can go on from there.

I have to say the site looks good, hopefully they will add more articles to it on a regular basis.
