  1. I don't think it is an apologistic (word? lol) act. It is attempting to clear up a contradiction. Sikhi teaches tolerance, and that it istn't the only path to God. Yet, some may interpret Raj Karega Khalsa to be an exclusivist attitude, which doesn't seem to go along with Sikhi.

This is not an answer obviously, but what I think the original question wasy saying 47.

  2. i only read half of the article... but from what i've read, it's brilliant! it highlights the underlying insecurities our community has as it panders for acceptance from the perceived superior white man.

I haven't read the whole article as of yet, but I just wanted to comment on the bold...You live in the white man's country..the issue of the kirpan is a very delicate one with them...not as black and white for them...but it's still their country, catch my drift...you can't move to a foreign country, and expect them to adapt all their laws to suit a minority right away...over time changes will occur

    just my thoughts.

  3. Saw the movie last night, and I must say I really liked it.

I dragged my friends, they got bored in the begining (they wanted to see Crash)....lol...sucks not having any friends into history.

And I saw the trailer for Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, looks pretty nice.

But getting back on topid, Kingdom of Heaven was a bit slower than expected, and at times it built up suspense for a battle which just fizzled, but I really enjoyed it. However, I don't know how historically accurate it was, haven't read too much after the first crusade (more of an antiquity guy) It had some key players that i recognized, but that's about it. Any one else catch it?

  4. haha...yeah I have heard that before...I don't get it

Someboyd once told me when I asked how can you tell a Jatt: that they are tall, light skinned, and handsome...

haha...I cracked up at that...can't believe they try to make themsleves a race...lol

I mean Jatts have the name they do because of Sikhism. Before Sikhi the caste Jatt existed, but they didn't do much...as with the introduction of progressive Sikhi they were able to advance...only reason they pride themselves so much is cause a majority of Sikhs were and are Jatts. I believe one British census from the 19th century showed 66% of Sikhs to be Jatt. Not too sure on my info, but since most Sikhs were Jatt (I know oxymoron, just go with it for the sake of this point) and Sikhs had accomplished so much, people began associating certain characteristics to the Jatts (who are farmers anyway).

^ is just my theory, lol.

And my gramps owns quite farms back in India, but we ain't Jatt...so it wasn't limited to them?

  5. I would recommend checking out Men's Health website, just click under weight loss, and it should give him info plus acess to forums. www.menshealth.com

The most important thing in weight loss is diet. 80% of losing weight is diet, so you have to get that down.

Drink at the minimum 8 glasses of water a day, I would suggest around 10.

He should eat 6 small meals a day, instead of the regular 3. So eat every 3 hours, keeps your metabolism going.

    NEVER miss breakfast.

Cut out processed and refined foods, sugars, stratchy carbs, junk food. Try to eat more natural food.

Balance you diet, don't just cut fat out, you need it. Try a rough breakdown of 35% protein, 35% carbs, 30%fat. Good sources of fat include all kinds of nuts and fish.

As for exercizes: he should do HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training). you can find more on this on the mens health or google it. Basically cardio where you switch up the inensity every now and then. ex: jog 2 min, sprint for 1, etc..

Lift weights as well. Muscle burns calories, so you have to maintain/build what you can. Pull ups and dumbell curls seem ideal for his situation. Push ups, crunches, squats with any kind of weight. Don't forget legs, must train them. Tell him to try and bench with the dumbells too. If they are too light, he could always get milk bottles and fill them with water. Improvise. But seriously read up before begining.

The hardest part about losing weight is sticking with the program. Trust me, he will probably need help to stay on his course. People get discouraged if they don't see the results they want..so you should help him with that.

  6. damn first Amsterdam, and and Turkey...u suck

hope you had fun bro...oh and I could spend all my time at just Constantinople (Istanbul)....did you see the Hagia Sofia? any pics? any other historyical monuments?

  7. why is that you think lots of girls want a clean cut gut compared to a singh? girls raised around non-keshdhari men will obviously find keshdhari men slighty alien.

but when girls raised around keshdhari men start going for non-keshdhari men, thats when ill start gettin worried!

In general, singhs should keep themselves well groomed, and attractive, esp if you are an eligable bacheolar (sp)... and ive got a good few years yet, im only 19. Woohoo!

I thought this is the more popular trend?

I will say this tho....from my observation even girls that cut their hair are more likely to go for a sardar, than say a mona is for a sardarni.

So I think the burden of this "problem" falls on the guys. As they seem to have a bigger problem with girls that don't shave/do eyebrows...etc..
