  1. thanks for getting back to me.

    as a simple axample, say if you had a type person with the attributes:

    person(id, name, address, dob)

    then you had a further two types say employee and student. each of theses types would have its own attributes:

    student(department, grade, etc)

    employee(position, salary, etc)

    idealy you would want both student and employee to extend person and store the person attributes aswell as the individual attributes. (that is an employee also has [name, adress, etc] aswell as [salary, position etc])

    i believe databases such as oracle and postgreSQL allow type inheritance. but i'm not sure about Mysql..

    so i just wanted to know if Mysql supports type inheritance as i'm planning to use it on a project i'm working on.

    yeah went paintballing on saturday mornin. was phat. there was about 50 ppl altogether. ended up being derby vs birmingham. me and kanty did derby proud.

    to be honest i'm probly tha laziest singh on this site :D (and proud). i've been registered for over a year... aint really introduced myself or participated in any disscussion(not that the lack of knowledge has anything to do with it!!)

    anyways some of u know me (mugermach comes to mind) but most of u dont. so here goes:

    Gurmeet Singh from derby, jus turned 22, studyin computing with business at manchester ( a typical indian cousre i know). love most sports and am a big MAN UTD fan.

  4. fateh singhs/singhnia, i have slight problem not sure if anyone will be able to help me out.

    basically i'm at uni and i use the uni connection (it's a 10Mb connection :D ), however they've banned all file sharing software like kaaza etc (not to bothered about that, coz i didnt use it to much anyway) but this also means i cant access the hub to upload/download kirtan :(

    does anyone know how to get round this problem? if u do can u let us know?
