  1. I know I know....jus chill...I'll get to it tonite...ask her then....so that means u'll have to wait until tomorrow to get the name....but I know he's a very very very Holy person...he's done a lot for my Familly....
  2. hmmm...he kinda seems rite, except for the age idea.... it would have to be the Sant before him, because the events that happened with my nanake were during the 40/50/60's.... and this Sant had never left India.....
  3. The Sant ji who lived close to the pind of Moga....my whole nanake side r deeply attached to that Sant... He's shown wonders of God to them all time after time... ( My mommy ji would not be here today had it not been for this sant...) I think his name was Pekho wale Sant...not sure...but if anyone knows anything of him, that would be great....thanx
  4. So then the Rehat Maryada would be found in one of the two Granths??? I would like to read it, that's why I'm asking...
  5. Anyone would be able to tell me when and where did Guru Gobind Singh Ji write the Rehat maryda and how come it's not a part of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji??? I"m just wondering, and I hope this doesn't offend anyone, if it does I apologize for it. ~Cj~
  6. I'd like to thank those that have been real kind and informative...means a lot to me..... But...one question then....I'm jus interested in the information regarding it...., don't take me wrong and if anyone is offended, I"m sorry before hand.... What is this thing about all of us being equal in front of God's eyes then, if we must become Gursikhs....Isn't that a form of Favouritism... then why is it said by all Saints....that our roop, rang, bekh doesn't matter, because God is above that all....why? If u could explain this to me, that'd be great....
  7. Hey....Thanx everyone for your replies... One day I will take Amrit, but as of the moment, I'm not 100% ready for it... But I know that most of you out there have taken Amrit, so i was wondering if u wouldn't mind answering my question of when u took it (age wise) and what made u decide that u were ready for it.... That would be extremely helpful...thanx....
  8. So basically what the majority is saying out there is that until I make the decision to become an amritdhari, I'm not a sikh... Ok... how come Guru Nanak Dev Ji didn't start this up in the beginning then, how come Guru Gobind Singh Ji created it, what was the purpose of becoming an amritdhari. Couldn't a person place themself at the Guru's charan without physically changing themself??? Thing is I'm willing to take up all the K's except for the kesh one at this point (which I stress is right now)...I'm born and bred in a canadian town, I'm very independent...I love wearing skirts and dresses, and enjoying life in general...I treat myself by going to get my hair down at the end of the year...(like colouring cutting, etc.) Is there something wrong with me then???
  9. I appreciate your reply Gabroo ji....thanx My thing is though, that I'm not ready yet, I don't feel it's my time at the moment, But does that make me any less of sikh??? even if I do much more that what the norm does as far as sewa, respect, and other things that sikhs r supposed to do....
  10. I am beginning to feel that as a sikh I have no worth as every where I go to find sikhs, I am belittled for I have cut my hair and do not follow the 5 K's... People judge me before they talk to me or discuss with me. I do my paath, know my Jap ji Sahib by heart, do kirtan, Meditate on God's name everyday, yet people make me feel that I am not a sikh.... The reason that I do not follow the 5 k's is that I don't feel that at this point in life I am absolutely going to be able to follow it as being a female my marriage will be arranged and I don't know who I will marry, what his beliefs will be, and also going to school and trying to juggle two jobs....I am unable to give God my 100% in that category...does this still make me not a sikh... When I feel that I am settled and can devote myself to God more readily I will do it, until then I have soceital relations to follow up with...Was it not Guru Nanak Dev Ji who said that there is a time and place for all stages of life... Then why do people judge me... I have faith and shraddha in every part of my soul for God... why am I not sikh then....
