  1. Another may be bug or issue i have noticed when i try to open up sikhawareness using my smartphone (samsung galaxy s vibrant/android) it's laggy. Is it possible whenever you get time to have mobile friendly version of sikhawareness ...i m not sure if we have to install new skin or if setting just built in the new forum.

    IPB 3.0 and above has the built-in mobile version. It allows members to log in/post/reply. Their global layout is very basic mostly text version style. Try sikhsangat forum on your cell and that is the default ipb mobile version.

  2. All the episodes of different avtars are to be read keeping in mind the invocation of Chaubis avtar that is written by Guru sahib.It has 38 chhands and all those praise only akal purakh. o special treatment for avtars.

    ਜੋ ਚਉਬੀਸ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਕਹਾਏ ॥

    जो चउबीस अवतार कहाए ॥

    Those who are called twenty-four incarnations;

    ਤਿਨ ਭੀ ਤੁਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤਨਿਕ ਨ ਪਾਏ ॥

    तिन भी तुम प्रभ तनिक न पाए ॥

    O Lord ! they even could not realise thee in a small measure;

    ਸਭ ਹੀ ਜਗ ਭਰਮੇ ਭਵ ਰਾਯੰ ॥

    सभ ही जग भरमे भव रायं ॥

    They became kings of the world and got deluded;

    ਤਾ ਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਅੰਤ ਕਹਾਯੰ ॥੭॥

    ता ते नाम बिअंत कहायं ॥७॥

    Therefore they were called by innumerable names.7.

    Chaubis avtar

    Now the following website talks of sanatn hindu sikh shashtras. I have some questions on so called hindu shashtras.

    http://www.shastarvidiya.org/

    1) Mahmood Ghaznavi came all the way to Somnath temple. He beheaded idols and took valubles of the temple to Kabul. Where were these weapons and their wielders?

    2) Moghals ruled over India for more than 1000 years. Where were the weapons that time when Indian women were being taken to harems of middle east.

    It was creation of khalsa a saint-soldier who reined in these tyrants. It was khalsa who combined bhagti with shakti to become invincibles and blocked khyber pass.

    Nihungs of India do not follow any sanatan sikhi as is being said on this website.

    I think it is correct.

  3. Singh2

    Now you are being mischevious. SPN is probably more open than other Sikh forums. Its members and moderators (which includes me) are from a diverse background.

    If a view is posted on SPN, it is foolish to think it reflects the beliefs of the forum because those involved themselves have different views.

    It is a plain lie to say members do not believe in naam simraan and the other stuff you mentioned. Can I respectfully suggest you stop this please?

    Gur Fateh

    he is not mischievious. it is you who has not understood. Who are your mentors. They are Giani jarnail singh and waheguruseeker They are hard core kala fghanis and atheists. They do not believe in naam simran. Read the thread and see their twisted logic.

    http://www.sikhphilosophy.net/dasam-granth...unar-month.html

    These people do not believe in Gurmantra and word waheguru as Gurmantra.

    These mentors systematically post articles promoting blasphemy. Example was recent thread where Darshan singh Ragi condemns dasam granth in new York on June 25. Giani Jarnail was very quick to post that the next day ( Audio) Do not smell what is going on.

  5. Sorry.. for not putting the captions of that pix @ sikhpride.. just been little lazy :LOL:

    The correct caption of the above picture is..

    Lieutenant General Harbakhsh Singh listens keenly as Lieutenant General Bukhtiar Rana, Pakistan Army makes a point during post-war negotiations at Lahore. Officials from the United Nations walk right behind.

  6. As of yogi bhajan i don't like this guy.. yes he did got sewa in prachar .. but keep in mind he didn't do that for non-profit sewa as many of puratan singhs did.

    As of name giving in western ppls who adopted sikhi.. i know that they think that they should only get their new sikh names from yogi bhajan.. yes that's cool that they get the first word from guru granth sahib but rest of the name should be choosen by the person himself/herself instead of yogi bhajan.. he is no-one to give sikh names.. (hope u understand im trying to say..)

  7. Nice pic kaur (Can i steak it? hehe :D )

    This my fav pics.. IT's a sikh traffic cop in China.. U can see british soldiers army truck in background.. And also as of history.. during world war days.. ALL Muncipal jobs were taken by SIKHS.. cauz british only trusted Sikhs.. ;)

    500.jpg

  9. oops.. correction.. : It was " Britain India Mutiny 1857-1858"

    What really happened at time?

    Indians started killing british families (Including Children, old, women, young) British never had any army force in India during that time.. Only they had was East India Company but Rajputs, hindus, muslims went on a rampage of killing every White person in india.. In kanpur, 600 british young kids along with females were killed in cool blood way ( Local Meat Butchered were hired for this job), and then they throw their bodies in the well (khuu) 1000's were killed all over India..

    Only Sikhs were loyal to british, even our sikh raj taken by them, but once Sikh took oath, they always remain on their word.. So there was no british troops in India (actually there were few british bodyguards, but they were outnumbered by indians).. Queen Victoria ordered 40,000 british troops to be sent to India to control the situation. BUT the problem was lack of time.. it gonna take them months to reach India by ships. So the British Sikh Regiment from punjab along with Scot Soldiers marched all the way down from Punjab to Gujrat and other effected areas to control the crowd. They traveled on horses under the sun for days (ON FAMOUS GT Road - Grand Trunk Road).. Only SIkhs were there to help british at that time.. They did controlled the situation tilll real british army arrived..

    This is the whole story how violence erupted between Indians (Exclude Sikhs) and british.. You will never read this or hear this in Indian History books, because they knew it was them who started violence..

    Gurfateh !!! stay in chardi kala...

  10. NOw that's what i call a cool thread.. :wink:

    As of Victoria Cross Medal.. There were only 6 Sikhs who won em.. Photos of those sikhs can be seen at :

    http://www.sikhpride.com/vcmedals/vcmedals.htm

    The reason why only 6 sikhs won VC medal?? Cauz before World wars there was a ban on giving this highest british award to Non-White soldier, this ban was lifted later on.. If there was no restriction on it.. we probably have at least 20+ sikhs for this award.. cauz of Sikhs great Support to British during Mutinty of India around later 18th century and STrong brave supports of sikhs invading Afghanistan..

    To see the pictures of Sikhs in World wars.. Visit : http://www.sikhpride.com/wars/wars.htm

    Here's the article for my history class.. (My mates were shocked to hear about sikh participation in World Wars..).. posted above at this forum.. also can be viewed @ SikhSpectrum.. http://www.sikhspectrum.com/122002/soldiers_ww.htm

    Here's one flash movie on Sikh soldiers.. Just lil work of my friend.. http://www.amozaghi.fsnet.co.uk/virsa1/virsa.htm# (Click on Flash movie in middle of that page..)

    Im making one movie (Still images movie) about sikhs soldiers who served in world wars.. Gonna take lil time.. I will post it when i upload it on web..

    *Pls*. it's no advertisement of any site.. just thought of posting the url of pictures, so u can have more info on brave sikh soldiers.. :)
