  1. This comes from 'The Glimpses of the Harimandir' by Dr. Sarup Singh Alag.

In a chaptar called "Russian thinking and the Harimandir" the author makes references to the 'athiest Russian rulers' and 'it was being heard everywhere that the Russian frends of the indian govt advised the govt of india that it should attack the Golden Temple without bothering as to whether the reigious sensibilities of the Siks or the lovers of the Harimandir got hurt or not"

Can anyone add more to this, and please can anyone clarify whether Golden Temple should be called "HarImandir" or "HaRMandir' ? Thanks

  3. It has been a long time since i made posts regarding this topic, but have since read and found out more about ahmed shah abdali did, and what massa ranghar did/what happened to massa ranghar as a result due to two Singhs. Furthermore, as Harmandir Sahib was attacked, and destroyed by Ahmed Shah Abdali, I'm wondering if when it was rebuilt, was anything remaining from the original (e.g. Mian Mir's foundation stone?)

  4. I know that this video was out a year ago, but having recently seen it again, i wondering a couple of things about it. At the beginning, juggy d, jay sean and rishi rich are sitting inside an apartment, and on the door there is a british and pakistani flag. they refuse entry to the 'other' jay sean. what is the significance of this?

Also, in the second part of the video, jay sean is rapping against the 'other' jay sean, ans says something like 'if it wasn't for me...', what is the significance of this?

Is it somehting to do with trying to make a point against uk pakistanis?

Violence in UK: SAD (A) appeals for restraint

    Tribune News Service

    Chandigarh, July 9

The Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) has appealed to the Sikhs all over the world to exercise utter restraint and not get provoked by hate violence which has reportedly erupted in some parts of England following bomb blasts in London a few days ago.

Prof Jagmohan Singh, General Secretary of the SAD (Amritsar), said it was unfortunate that Sikhs also became the target of hate violence as a Gurdwara in Kent in England was set on fire by a violent mob protesting against London bomb attacks this morning.

A mosque in Leeds was also set on fire. Professor Jagmohan Singh said it was time for the minorities to exercise utter restraint and do not get provoked by the actions of those who were out to exploit the situation created by the bomb attacks.

The SAD (Amritsar) has already condemned London bomb attacks.

Which gurdwara in Kent was it?

  6. Whatever you do, don't use any form of gel - one smile and your dari

cracks! Just let it blow in the wind and grow however it wishes to grow.

However, you could try using what the grandads use, Fixo!! The desi

    remedy.

Some people, e.g. doctors or whatever, cannot let their dhari blow in the wind becos of their jobs etc

  7. Hmm...I know this may seem strange. My dhari is still growing, a long way to its probable full length. The dhara are not very straight, in fact most are quite curly. I've tried combing, but it does not seem to make a big difference. From those who have experience, do the dharas get any straighter as they get longer? Is there any ways you know of making dharas straighter by combing etc?

  8. I don't know if there's any solid truth behind this story, or there is just some misunderstanding, but someone once told me that apparently there's a story that a nun (at the Vatican) had a dream or a vision that one day the world would be ruled by people who wear blue turbans and shorts. This would suggest Sikhs for obvious reasons. I don't have any more information than this, but if anyone has got a clue what I am on about, please say.

  9. I don't know if any post concerning this matter has ever been posted, but I was watching the news today and my attention was drawn to the Iranian flag. I never really thought about this before, but there is a striking similarity between the symbol on the Iranian flag, and the one of the central symbols of Sikhi, the Khanda.

Is anyone concerned in any way by this?
