  1. Are we as Sikhs supposed to refrain entirely from any sort of enjoyment whatsoever, because it's maya? What I mean is that each time we feel "good" when it's not related to paath/Waheguru, is that gonna go into our negative accounts when we die? I mean, are we supposed to have no enjoyment whatsoever, no matter what we achieve, like say a goal in football, or good exam results? Family enjoyment?

If you are chardhi kala, does that mean you have no emotions whatsoever, apart from enjoyment of the Lord?

  2. I just want to start this because I want all the crazy claims of Sikhism sorted out. Sometimes these might not seem so crazy to people, but nevertheless...people please feel free to add your queries and responses

Why the hell is Guru Nanak Ji claimed as a Hindu/Muslim despite creating a religion which was clearly neither?

Why some people say Guru Nanak Ji claimed to be Muslim to go to Mecca?

Why people say Guru Gobind Singh Ji used goats blood or something at Vaisakhi 1699?

Why people say we idol worship GGSJ? We don't, but it reveals God's words, no? So we should treat with highest respect. Hindu idols seem to have no great benefit for me, as I cannot find God that way.

Why people say that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji did not sacrifice himself for Hindu religion?

Why people (Muslims) claim GGSJ is not equal to Quran because not directly from an angel, despite GGSJ coming straight from Gurus/Saints through God, and the Quran's authencity is very doubtable from it's original form?

Why people say that Guru Gobind Singh Ji was not spiritually in the league of others such as Buddha, Guru Nanak Ji?

Why people say Guru Nanak Ji prayed five times a day as a Muslim?

Why people say Sikhi through the Khalsa encourages violence and terrorism, even though any violence in Sikhi is purely for the good of justice and for self-defence?

Why people say that Sikhs are not concerned with spirituality as much as Buddhists?

  3. Goojaree:

At the very last moment, one who thinks of wealth, and dies in such thoughts,

shall be reincarnated over and over again, in the form of serpents. ||1||

O sister, do not forget the Name of the Lord of the Universe. ||Pause||

At the very last moment, he who thinks of women, and dies in such thoughts,

shall be reincarnated over and over again as a prostitute. ||2||

At the very last moment, one who thinks of his children, and dies in such thoughts,

shall be reincarnated over and over again as a pig. ||3||

At the very last moment, one who thinks of mansions, and dies in such thoughts,

shall be reincarnated over and over again as a goblin. ||4||

At the very last moment, one who thinks of the Lord, and dies in such thoughts,

says Trilochan, that man shall be liberated; the Lord shall abide in his heart. ||5||2||

What is the meaning of goblin? I thought these were mythical creatures

  4. Is there more to this than meets the eye...that Guru Granth Sahib Ji says Muslim women suffer because of what is written in the Koran? Also, I have heard that this was also Hukamnama on September 11, 2001...any truth in that..?

    TILANG, FIRST MEHL:

As the Word of the Forgiving Lord comes to me, so do I express it, O

Lalo. Bringing the marriage party of sin, Babar has invaded from

Kaabul, demanding our land as his wedding gift, O Lalo. Modesty and

righteousness both have vanished, and falsehood struts around like a

leader, O Lalo. The Qazis and the Brahmins have lost their roles, and

Satan now conducts the marriage rites, O Lalo. The Muslim women read

the Koran, and in their misery, they call upon God, O Lalo. The Hindu

women of high social status, and others of lowly status as well, are

put into the same category, O Lalo. The wedding songs of murder are

sung, O Nanak, and blood is sprinkled instead of saffron, O Lalo. || 1

    || Nanak sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord and Master in the city

of corpses, and voices this account. The One who created, and attached

the mortals to pleasures, sits alone, and watches this. The Lord and

Master is True, and True is His justice. He issues His Commands

according to His judgement. The body-fabric will be torn apart into

shreds, and then India will remember these words. Coming in

    seventy-eight (1521 A.D.), they will depart in ninety-seven (1540

A.D.), and then another disciple of man will rise up. Nanak speaks the

Word of Truth; he proclaims the Truth at this, the right time. || 2 ||

  5. Anyone with Alpha Punjabi channel should watch Pardesan Vich Punjabi. Regular visits to the Gurdwara in that and you can see NRI Sikhs and what they are doing! If you're in Uk, it come free on Saturday from 8-8.30pm. Even saw a swedish gora Sikh in sweden Gurdwara! Btw, shouldn't it be 'Punjabi Vich Pardesan'?

  6. I think you should try to show best respects when you're in the Gurdwara, and there's probably no rule that you can't laugh in the Gurdwara, just try your best not to laugh in the Gurdwara or at least try to conceal yourself the best possible way! I myself along with my cousin have on the odd occassion in Gurdwara burst into uncontrollable laughter... :D , finding it very difficult to control ourselves!
