  1. Narsingha you wrote....

That was a huge reply, obviously a lot of time and effort has been put into ensuring that this "minor" threat to the Sikhs is controlled.

Not much point in carrying on this debate, the upcoming articles will speak for themselves. They will be presenting facts, rather than utilising emotional blackmail. Appealing to emotions is a great tool...works well on idiots (I wont mention any names )

Meanwhile, I await the next 'Panthic' CD with great anticipation. I hope it is a runaway success as the first 2 attempts. Hopefully the Nihangs will be mentioned again...perhaps the 'rapper' Malkeet may improve his lisp and his comand of the English language, so we can actually understand what he says

But on various occassions you also wrote.......

There is not much point discussing anything with you, Mr Singh, because time and again as you have proved (on many forums) that you ignore anything that doesnt fit in with your dogma, still continue to argue and asking for more proof anytime your bubble is burst. When it comes to the crunch, insults prevail...

Continue the cheap insults, I am sure they will add to your credibility someday...

  2. Being closely tied with both Gurdhwaray I can say this much about the politics...ITS OVER RATED..

Most often by opposing political parties....The Hansra "scandal" was made big by Ajit. Ajit and Sanjh Severa are some long time rivals in the Toronto area. Ajit a little while ago ran some negative political cartoons about Hansra, which led only to escalate this rivalary. Being a big part of Dixie, this may or may not have shaken things up there. In the end its better to let things play out then start making our own assumptions as to whats really going on.

As per Malton and Dixie. Again Malton and Dixie have had conflicts since as far as I can remeber. Although admittly not knowing much about these, they really only involve around a few.

As per things now, well Maltons comitee re-structured in the last little while. So we should be seeing some "physical" changes soon. Most notable one is the new washrooms being installed.

Both Gurdhwara's are safe and attract somewhat "different" types of Sangat each good in its own right. Dixie's by most rated the second best Gurdhwara in Canada, second to Singh Sabha in Abbotsford B.C. It's the biggest land wise.

If you really want the 'negatives', then you may want to look at the work/writings of Prof. Uday Singh. I may have mixed up names but I'm reffering to the author of the book "Keski Kakaar Hai". At the back they pretty much let loose on a lot of the Gurdhwara commitee's, and try to show how they are parts of Anti-Gurmat activities. Although I wouldn't deem this as a trustworthy source, it may satisfy your thirst for some info on the comitee's.

  3. I think next year the leafs should just let ottawa win...

If ottawa EVER got past the Leafs, I think Ottawa would win the Cup hands down, but every year they just piss in there jock straps and loose to the Leafs who although good I dont see them ever going for Cup Glory.

On another note anyone see Kobe last night??

  4. Question really isn't WHO.

More of a general open ended question. If I wanted to point out Niddar Singh then I would have just as easily used his name in there, but since I have little or really no provable or actual facts about it, I dont see any point in applying his name here. If it was a joke then its a joke.

I'm just wondering what the proper Marayada or action would be in dealing with those who would however do the same in a non-joking fasion.

P.S any idea what goes on NY in August? like what the event is.

  5. I wasn't at the confrence, nor is that the event where my question is originating from, although I did hear of it.

My question was more or less left open ended and no real name/ties where used for a reason, the question was more or less HOW should such individuals be dealt with in the case when such comments are not made in a humourous context.

And isn't NidarSingh in NY almost every year around that time? Is there some special function that goes on?

  6. So I guess I'm not not going to get an answer, although I dont mean it as any form of disrespect just a question I had..

On the topic of slandering Jathedar Akali Baba Santa Singh, I was wondering what action would/should be taken against those who claim Gurdev Status yet make claims such as "Fat Slob" when talking about Jathedar Ji on stage or in person?

Should such Gurdev's who although cloak under Budha Dal be tolerated and if not how should one persue the matter in exposing them?

  7. So from my understanding from what was posted above is that...Balbir singh was never recognized as he was SGPC appointed and thus no one really took him seriously anyways?

Please if you get a chance, correct me if I'm wrong there.

Next thing I was wondering was about the view that Baba Santa Singh only went to Akaal Takht only to keep harmony within in the Panth.

From previous posts it has been my understanding that "Panth" in some cases refers to only Budha Dal, or nihang dal's. So just wanted to clarify in which way Panth was being used.

Reason for me asking was that, for a large part the Panth was getting along. I dont really see how Baba Ji getting pesh changed things. Unless of course Panth in those terms is reffering to Nihang Dal's, in which case I wonder howt he Nihang Dal's where divided when they reject SGPC anyways, so they would have been one as it was, or no?

    Thanks in advance.

  8. Baba Balbir Singh, who was appointed chief of the parallel sect of the Budha Dal by the SGPC after excommunication of Baba Santa Singh welcomed the decision of Baba Santa Singh for bowing before the Akal Takht after a long gap. He, however, said that now Baba Santa Singh must drop his claim to be chief of the Budha Dal as he had appeared before the Takht as a ‘humble Sikh’. He claimed that he was ‘real Jathedar’ of the Budha Dal as he was honoured at the occasion of the tercentenary of the birth of Khalsa Panth at Anandpur Sahib and many other occasions by the SGPC.

Just curious as to what his current standing in/with the Dal really is?

  9. I agree with what Sikh Princess wrote in her original post...

As per neo's comparrison of namdharis vs udasi's etc, although the lineage is different in the end, the udasi's came around and united under Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib. I dont think they confuse that Guru Nanak Dev ji gave Gur-Ghadi to Sri Guru Anged Dev Sahib Ji...

Another note, something thats been on my mind as of late, what if a new branch/sect starts tomarrow that claims one of the Guru's was never Guru. I.e say they expell Sri Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji as guru and instead in there place put some one else in there place. They literally try to prove this and come out with some "purtaan" texts as there reference. However there linage comes back to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji as being Guru.

Although this sect starts of small they start growing in size naturally, and we soon now get the new debate over wheater or not Sri Guru Har Rai Sahib ji was Guru or not.

Now for argument sake SGPC is still in charge of things, and they are now naturally dumbfounded in regards to this new debate and again take the neutral stance applying there famous either or clause.

How would Sikhs of today react then?
