what does Sikhi say about self induced astral travel and out of body experiences through meditation or concentration?
-
What does Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji say about Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva ?
Did God create the 3 of them OR do people just give 3 different names for different aspects of God?
I think I read somewhere that God created them but they themselves started to think they were Gods.
How much is mythology and how much is true?

ki?
news flash. Homosexuals not Gay about artical 48. -
No my Sikhi isn't that weak but what does gurdwara have to do with sikhi? Gurdwaras depends from people to people and most are already fed up with the politics that go ont here but this thing would really end it for me.
y wud u stop visiting gurdwara if that hapened??wats the gurdwara got to do wid it?? is your sikhi that weak?

This might be a dumb question but let's say the average age we die is 75, who would want your old kidneys, eyes and what not?

Why secret gandharva marriages? The gays would say they want equal rights as everyone.
Anyways I don't think any of this will ever happen.
well well wellHold on a second if there are going to be gay marriages then they should be gandharva marriages.

Hi N30,
If gay marraiges were allowed in Sikhi can you imagine...sure we would get publicity and people from all nations would convert to sikhi BUT they would only convert becuase we allowed gay marraiges, I doubt most of them would care for the religon at all and many would start their own sikh cults.
How long would it take before the public labels us as the 'gay' religon. Little sikh kids being picked on in school not becuase of their turbans but because people think he follows a gay religon?
Khalsa is of the pure so I think gay marraiges will never be allowed. Can you imagine a force of weak gay guys wearing dastaar and complaining because they broke a nail. I do not think Guru Gobind Singh Ji envisioned this.
1. It will benefit for the gay and lesbian to come forward and keep themselves in this free environment2. Sikhi will be the first relegion for accepting gays and lesbians through sikh scriptures. There would enrmonous publicity about it. (SINCE TRUST ME EVERY OTHER FOLLOWER OF THE RELEGION IS LOOKIN FOR EQUALITY AND LOGICAL IN THE RELEGION) SIKHI GOT ALL OF EM. Thats why you see loads of converts from christianity, hinduism. Two major relegions.
3. Gays and Lesbians from other relegions (IE- Christians gays and lesbians) would be accepted and attracted towards sikhism because their relegion doesnt allow homosexuality.
All i can say if sikhi was given to whites or blacks our relegion wont be plaqued with narrow minded people as if have now.

Who really knows why gay poeple are gay? Some might have been a women in their last life and feel they are stuck in the wrong body and some are just sexual deviants. What about Bi's? Is there a Bisexual gene out there too? doubt it.
What about treating everyone equally and fairly what if a guy wants to marry 10 women and they all agree, should we drag them all in the gurdwara? We can go on and on and nothing is resolved. anyways don't think of Gay people as lower life forms then you but I would have to think they should meditate and turn straight or supress themselves from sexual activity with same sex.
Anyways I think it's general knowledge that Gay marraige isn't allowed in sikhi. If a son wants to marry his mother, is it allowed? I don't think so, we just have to use SGGS as the foundation and know what is right and what is wrong.
If gay marraiges ever were allowed in gurdwaras (which I don't think will ever be) I would not go to gurdwaras anymore , I would really have to second guess where sikhism has gone.
Would I oneday become an Amritdhari sikh? doubt it but I would still do naam simran and follow sikhism according to my beliefs.

I wouldn't be too concerned abut killing a fly unless you were torturing it or something.

I cannot meditate on god properly unless I have a clear mind so I always meditate on my breathing first. Be it boring or not I beleive you do need a clear mind to meditate on the Lord. Afterall I don't wanna be doing naam simran and thinking about the Xbox sale.
i didnt say buddhism was boring, i said ch'an buddhist meditation which i tried was boring. try it, youll be pleasantly (un)surprised. just sit there and try and clear ur mind of all thoughts. and then? urm...yep, thats it. -

Personally I love the feel of all my hair and spine standing and straightening out. If I'm meditating and I don't get this feeling I'm a bit dissapointed it feels like I'm not into the meditation as much I should be BUT I guess it's different for everyone.

Rapture manifests in various ways. It will make your spine stand beautifully straight. It may cause your hair to stand on end. Some people when they practise meditation may find themselves weeping but in a deeply refreshing way.
rap·ture ( P ) Pronunciation Key (rpchr)
n.
The state of being transported by a lofty emotion; ecstasy.
An expression of ecstatic feeling. Often used in the plural.
The transporting of a person from one place to another, especially to heaven
Wen i do simran sum times, i cry, I know y dis happens now, because dis site has shown me y. But its hasn't told me wot happens wen i shake or hav a little fit? -
What is your take on this?
Here is a story I found on a non sikh website, can anyone confirm its truth? :
A story is told of a guru named Gobind Singh, the founder of the Sikh religion, which alludes to bhang's usage in battle. During a critical skirmish in which he was leading the troops, Gobind Singh's soldiers were suddenly thrown into a panic at the sight of an elephant bearing down on them with a sword in its trunk. As the beast slashed its way through Gobind Singh's lines, his men appeared on the verge of breaking rank. Something had to be done to prevent a disastrous rout. A volunteer was needed, a man willing to risk certain death to accomplish the impossible task of slaying an elephant. There was no shortage of men to step forward. Gobind Singh did not take time to pick and choose. To the man closest to him he gave some bhang and a little opium, and then watched as the man went out to kill the elephant. Fortified by the drug the loyal soldier rushed headlong into the thick of battle and charged the sword-wielding elephant. Deftly evading the slashing blows that could easily have severed his body in two, he managed to slip under the elephant and with all his strength he plunged his own weapon into the unprotected belly of the beast. When Gobind Singh's men saw the elephant lying dead in the field, they rallied and soon overpowered the enemy. From that time forth, the Sikhs commemorated the anniversary of that great battle by drinking bhang.

Astral Travel is not an illusion, you are fully aware and capable of moving your hands and you have your senses in tact, atleast as far as I know. Basically you just go into a different realm and expereince different beings and such. Lot's of people astral travel.

Important thing is not to get wrapped up in these spiritual powers and go offtrack, after all our goal is to unite with God.
