Veer ji its also very trying sitting in one postition for 3 hours and also their are chances of headaches, migraines developing along with eye sight numbers changing as well.

Its better to start step by step than doing 5 hours nitnem one day and not doing anything for a month as then your energy would be drained out to do anything.

Don't get me wrong its good to have pyar prem to do simran paath nitnem but also energy is needed as well.

I myself wish i could do 3 hours straight nitnem simran and wish for it as well as i have to take breaks when i do my paaths otherwise i get headaces migraines etc.

I do remember that Sant Baba Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindrawale had build up their nitnem paaths of Sri Japji Sahib from 5 to 10 then to 151 step by step.

Doing paath nitnem is also like training yourself as its better to do step by step than all in one go as more than a person is used to.

I agreed with you but my point was if academic can have that mind set to study for long hour, so can we and start to make a routine of doing simran. Just as you have advised, 5mins is a good start and gradually increasing to an hour and if maharaj do kirpa, even longer!

Its ok veer ji i am glad to help. Also you can send me a private message about this as i can understand that this a senstivie issue.

Lets hope the doctor does something as you will need to make it sound serious the symptoms to get a psychiatrist appointment referal as they can give more advanced brain medication than gps.

Thanks I didn't thought of going to a psychiatrist but i will tell my symptoms to my GP and get a referral. Thanks

Veer ji that is not good especially if its very often like you mentioned.

I would suggest make a urgent appointment to the doctor gp to get a referal for this especially as its draining your energy out.

Its really sad how you described your problem on here and have tried everything possible by yourself to stop this dream problem.

Lets hope the doctor will do something like refer to a shrink who can give antidepressiants or at least make a assesment of the situation.

Thank you for being so generous! waheguruu..

I will make an appointment and see what doctor says.

Its worth it veer ji especially as the problem has been distrubing you for a long time now. Hopefully you have to wait and see what the doctor says and happens next.

How long has it been happening for the dreams and how many times a week are you getting them ?

Veerji, it happening since last 3-4 year but recently its happening every 2-3 day and its draining my energy. Those we had similar problem before will understand better!

Veer ji its really good that you have started reading the shabad then you can build up step by step into doing a 108 mala of it. You can keep it written or in printed form when doing the jaap of it.

Its worth going to a pyschiatrist veer ji or getting a refferal to it cos it might supressed energies, thoughts etc that are distrubing you with these type of dreams. They might give you short term medication to help with the dreams especially if its draining you out energy wise.

The pyschiatrist will be the best to send you for psychologist treatment but thats up to the doctor pyschiatrist to decide and diagnoise.

Thank you veer ji. I will book an appointment with GP and hope he will refer to phychologist!

Veer ji i am glad to share and its terrible how you mentioned you have got asthma and get shortness of breath.

I can too relate as i get migraine headaces and its not pleasent do pyschical workout activites as it can trigger off my headaces as well.

But its best to listen to the katha track i posted and memorzie and do jaap of the posted gurbani shabad as it should help with the thoughts dreams etc.

Have you seen a doctor about this dream problem ? Cos you got some sort of counselling or a psychiatrist if they are annoying you too much.

Bhaji, i have read the shabad few times now, guess i will memorise and do it 108 for a certain period e.g 40 day, 90days.

No, i haven't seen any counselling or psychiatrist yet. I might go and see the psychiatrist one day.

Veer ji thats a really good combation you have mentioned of simran and listening to Sukhmani Sahib paath but also its really sad how you are getting these dreams as well and its draining your energy.

Here is a link i posted earlier on the subject rest should its best to listen to katha track and the shabad mentioned for jaap.

I love listening to katha and i will listen to this one.

Thank you, soulfinder for sharing the katha link.

Because of my asthma, i have limitation to do workout, as if i do jogging or lift heavy weight at gym, i get shortness of breath.

I am struggling, i hope maharaj will do mehar di nadar on me!

  9. What are your suggesstion for keeping a 24hour or 48 hour fast.

I tried 24hour fast yesterday and i felt really good. I had a sense of coolness, light mind with very minimum thoughts. It was a good experience!

Has anyone tried 24hrs or 48 hrs fast, do you think it will be helpful to combat wetdream?

Surround yourself as much as you can with gurbani katha kirtain to get rid of these dreams as these should help.

Try to do at least 5 kirtain sohila sahib as this will make you feel tried and divert your attention.

Soulfinder: Thank you for the suggestion. I do listen to sukhmani sahib path daily and do 1hr simran before i go to sleep. I am trying to surrond myself around gurbani but at the moment it is not helping much and its draining my energy making me feel less motivated and interested in life. Its been happening since last 3-4 years, after every 2-3days. i guess i will have to live with it. Mareh Karam..

Deadlifts... heavy weight as many as you can every other day.. Put that energy into use.

Look at sexual transmutation.  Find a hobby- martial arts, weight training, any sport, reading, art, photography.. find something you enjoy and put your focus on it..

Thank you for the suggestion samurai.

Seriously. Find a decent women who is physically compatible with you, and get married.

Thank you for all the suggestion.

dalsingh: I agree, but i am not in good health state to get married. I don' think its fair for the girl to marry someone who is not healthy. My focus is to be healthy and be a good fit before i take the step.

  14. Personally, i feel when it comes to bhandgi we are very naive.

Students who study medical science, engineering, usually revise for few hours straight.

I had few friends who would study 6 hours straight with minimal breaks.

We should encourage each other and have a can do attitude.

Guru tegh bahadur sahib ji, did bhagti for 26 years. Guru Gobind singh ji in their previous life did continuous bhagti.

Why his sikhs not able to do 3hr bhagti, instead we say that we only need pyaar, lol..

Was guru sahib not full of pyaar!

By the way, I've heard in katha that 3.5hrs sitting is called one samadhi (or similar)..

  16. In Memory of Shahibzadey Shaheedi, Naam Simran Smagam is happening at Darbar Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Walsall, West-Midlands.

    Sangat Ji,

We are fast approaching the 'festive season' again this year, but what does this time of the year really mean for Sikhs? This is the time of the year that one of the biggest sacrifices in history was given by our father Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj.

In the month of Poh Maharaj sacrificed his four sons, his mother and countless Sikhs in the name of dharam. This was the fulfilment of a promise Guru Gobind Singh Ji made in 1699 when he, as Guru, knelt down in front of the Panj Pyaare and begged them for the gift of Amrit. The Panj asked Guru Sahib what he will give to receive this Amrit and Maharaj said they will sacrifice their entire family to get this divine gift.

In memory of this Baljit Singh will be doing a daily katha over 13 Days telling the full story. This is part of the Naam Simran Smagam being held at the Gurdwara. Full details are below please be sure to attend!

    19th December to 31st December.

    Daily smagam program:
    morning Simran 5am-6am & evening simran 7am-8pm

    13 Larivaar Shaheedi Katha 8pm-8.30pm

Darbar Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji,
    Rollingmill Street,
    Walsall, WS2 9EQ

Maharaj has given and today continues to give so much for us, this time of year is a perfect time for us all to reflect on what we have really sacrificed to Maharaj.

Please make effort to attend and share with others, it is so important that we all know about this chapter in our history!
