  1. In terms of gurmat, a warrior is a person who fights battle every day against 5 chor. gurbani says also this person who defeats 5 pehlwaan is a soorma. anyone who has defeated the 5 chor is a warrior in the physical sense also, as he has lost the moh of this world.

    Dhanaasaree, Fifth Mehla:

He alone is called a warrior, who is attached to the Lord's Love in this age.

Through the Perfect True Guru, he conquers his own soul, and then everything comes under his control. ||1||

Now how does one attach themselves to the Lord's love? Is it by staying in Waheguru's Bhana?

This is Guru ji encouraging his Sikh to change thier psyche. Someone may be very good at fighting but if a warrior were to face someone who is of stronger charater then he can lose just out of fear. If you have mastered self then you can take a whole army as some Babay have done in the past.

  2. "O you who believe! Take not as (your) Bitânah (advisors, consultants, protectors, helpers, friends, etc.) those outside your religion (pagans, Jews, Christians, and hypocrites) since they will not fail to do their best to corrupt you. They desire to harm you severely. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, but what their breasts conceal is far worse. Indeed We have made plain to you the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses) if you understand."

    Surah Ale-Imran 3:118

Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta 'ala) says:

"O you who believe! If a Fasiq (liar - evil person) comes to you with any news, verify it, lest you should harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful for what you have done."

    Surah Al-Hujuraat 49:6

One thing I wanna ask is that if the people outside Islam were not to corrupt the Muslims. Then does thats make those people outside islam unbelievers? And if there was one Muslim to engage in war with this "unbeliever" who had no intension of corrupting a Muslims belief' does that mean that Muslim has done Haram?

  3. I hear that Mystical. But it is fallacy to think that purely internal spiritual control automatically leads to proficiency in whatever type of combat is current at the time. Coming from Indian backgrounds we should know this more than any other!!

I think someone put it aptly by saying words to effect of: Bhagti won't teach you how too fight, but it will teach you what to fight for.

External enemies are very different to internal one in my eyes. We have a LOT more personal sway in controlling the latter (with grace of course) whilst the former are frequently not so directly within our spheres of control or influence.

Dare I say it, it is pretty well encapsulated with the theory of internal and external jihad in Islam.

But take everything I say with the full understanding that I too am a child in all this too. I think any smart society makes sure it takes advantage (in a positive way) of its gubroo jawans and makes sure they have enough ready to combat any threats. How well or not we are doing this right now as a quom is a debate in itself. I myself am sick of hearing about Sikhs getting beaten up and bullied though.

I agree with the jihad theory but in the context of dharam.

  4. dalsingh101, I agree with Mekhane'ch Jannat. External enemies are the same as internal. Havent you heard the term "You are your own worse enemy". When you know how to deal with theses forces you become the best swordsman. Internally knowledge is your sword and one day you become so sharp that you cut your verses. Having too much ego means a person can become arrogant, there by their learning process can stop.

  5. There is duality in life too. Good Bad, Hot cold, Male Female, Light Dark. If you ignore one side of the coin does that mean it does not exist? But yes everything is one and the same, its true because something exists and its been validated.

Also simply reading texts doesnt mean its true, it needs to be tested with contemplation. The writer may know exactly what he/she is written but would the reader know what it means?

  6. I came across this video about full body work out with weights and I was impressed that he could lift so much weight without being so big builded and just be medium builded. Check them out.

  7. Why dont people just try seeing each scripture in an unbiased manner, rather then saying "this is hindu this is muslim, theres no truth in theses". Look for similarities first, rather then the differences, then once you see differences, contemplate on them, see how it relates to your way of thinking and lifestyle, then come to a conclusion. In higher truths you will always find a paradox. Gurbani always talks things which are paradoxical. God is One but many, God has many names but no name. God is the void and everything.

  8. I believe Free Will exists but I believe its more to do with freedom of choice, the choice to choose a particular action, either good or bad. Whatever action you take takes you down a different path. Making wrong choice can lead to you down a negative path. If you can make an educated prediction of what action will lead to where, then you can avoid the "sting". Hukam would be the effects of a taken action, like a parent slapping their child when their being mischievous or not listening to them.

  9. Yeah im still working on it.

When the banner went up I looked at the left side of the border and noticed it was cut too but when I was making the banner I had no way of telling because the image was just the banner by itself. I'll have it fixed up soon. Thanks for your feedback.
