  4. Sath shri Akal Jee and may Akaal Purkh bless you all. i was reading the 51 hukamnammas of Guru Gobind Singh Jee Maharaj, and stopped at this one: 27)Sutantar Vicharna. Raaj Kaaj dian kamaan tae doosrae mutaa dia purshaan noo huk nahi daenaa - Rule Independently? In the affaris of government, do not give people of other religions authority/power. why is a muslim/hindu not allowed to be in power in a sikh state? this sounds a bit weird to me :S and, are we not allowed to visit mosques and mandirs? 42)Darshan yaatraa gurdwaaraa di hi karni - Make pilgrimages to Gurudwaras only.
  5. Guru Nanak Dev ji said "High is Truth, but higher is truthfull living" so spending hours in stupid debates are just worthless, and instead we should focus on helping the people around us. do you love your creator? if you do, then serve your fellow man, and leave aside stupid religious debates where you wont achieve anything as the muslims at that page does not accept our answers..
  6. okay..well i will thank you for your reply, and u have shed some light over something that has actually bugged me for a long time.. thanks
  7. i have given my answers also on the forum of Islam and sikihsm..: http://www.islamicboard.com/comparative-re...ed=1#post298387 i am amardeep in that page to. let me know if i have said something wrong according to sikhi, as i have only been studying sikhism for a few months..
  8. Sath shri Akal and thanks for taking time to answar my question. so let me see if i have understood your reply. when it says "God Created Himself" it means that he made himself known to people so that there was someone to worship him? on sikhphilosophy someone says that it has to do with creation.. "i created myself" means that he created the universe as he is within all and everything.. aapnaa aap upaa-i-on tadahu hor na ko-ee. He created Himself - at that time, there was no other. mataa masoorat aap karay jo karay so ho-ee. He consulted Himself for advice, and what He did came to pass. tadahu aakaas na paataal hai naa tarai lo-ee. At that time, there were no Akaashic Ethers, no nether regions, nor the three worlds. tadahu aapay aap nirankaar hai naa opat ho-ee. At that time, only the Formless Lord Himself existed - there was no creation. ji-o tis bhaavai tivai karay tis bin avar na ko-ee. ||1|| As it pleased Him, so did He act; without Him, there was no other. ||1|| but here it says that there was nothing when he created himself..and that creation first took place later on..so who did he "show" himself to? but as it is, sikhs belive in a God without beginning, and without end?
  9. Sath shri Akaal jee.. do we sikhs belive in an eternal God that has been forever like the muslims, or do we belive in a God that created himself,in other words, have a beginning.. aapay aap upaa-i-an aap keemat paa-ee. He Himself created Himself, and He Himself evaluates Himself. Page 786, Line 9 becuase this next verse says that He is eternal and other says that He has been there forever and since the beginning. too sadaa salaamat nirankaar. ||16|| You, Eternal and Formless One! ||16|| Page 4, Line 11 how are these verses to be understood. can someone shed light on this, or recomend articles about the "creation" of God. Sath Shri Akal.
  10. the "father of mankind" is a comment by the translater..it is not written in the real Bani.. i got confused also when i read it..
  11. does Guru Nanak have a big "role" in Shia Islam? do they consider him a holy man, or was he just a stranger passing by their country?
  12. how disgusting. stealing from a sacred place like the Harmander Sahab..have people no shame!!!
  13. sounds interesting. most of my shia friends are also iraqis, but they had never heard of Guru Nanak before. do u know how many followers Guru Nanak made in Iraq? i heard something about the "president" of the country became a follower of Guru Nanak but i dont know if its true or not.

hadeeth is like the janam sakhis of Guru Nanak Dev Jee.. it is writings about the Prophet Muhammad. Bukhari is an author who wrote all of these storys down, and a lot of them are false lies degrading Muhammad and Islam .. yet they are looked upon as "sahih" by sunnis meaning they are reliable sources and that these incidents really have taken place (for instance it is mentioned that Muhammad beats up his wives, he orders the murder of a woman, he tortures people and behead them etc).
  15. who attended the conference, and how was it? was it about what diverse religions say about science? for instance the Quran mentions plants in pairs, the SGGS mentions millions of planets etc..

Islam is indeed a great and good religion.. i think that the hadeeth of bukhari and muslim have wrecked up its image.. the "harsh" verses from the Quran is mostly during warfare. Muhammad did do raise the womens status..
  17. Sath shri akal being born into a sikhi family does not mean that God wants u to be a sikh. it has to do with karma...your prevous actions tells which religion you will be born into.. saying that it is Gods will, it would imply that you had nothing to do with it,. kind regards.
  18. javanard u wrote: Next to the tomb of Shaikh Bahlol, a companion of the 7th Imam Musa al Qazim, there is a room dedicated to Gurû Nânak Devi Jî Mahârâj and the Shi'as of the area take care of it and have great respect for Mahârâj. can u please provide me with a source that explains this further? it sounds really interesting..
