  1. I remember when he came to New-Zealand. If you listen to his previous kathas he is insistent that during Operation Bluestar he was not in the Akal-Takhat; in one of his NZ samagams he outrageously claimed that Maj.Gen Shabag Singh died in his arms whilst fighting the Indian hordes. He then added, 'I was actually in the Akal-Takhat, I saw it all.' There was also some lecture over why not to cook beans and soy chunks in langar etc. At the end most of the Gurughars banned him from doing any katha after seeing his ambivalence and dishonesty. I asked a fan on Sikhsangat whether, in light of the latter, Thakur Singh really was a gyani and he answered, 'well mahapurakhs can lie for the benefit of humanity.' Then in 2010 there was his claim that the world is going to end in a few years. I guess when you see the dollars flowing you will do anything.

  2. Penji I would beg to differ from the editing question. According to many imminent scholars the Goindwal pothis etc all contain Shabads of the Bhagats which were not included in the AGGS by the 5th Guru. They also point out that most of these Shabads have commentaries aligned with them, written by the 3rd Guru, highlighting their efficiency/inefficiency.

  3. I have a few questions regarding Gurbani i.e. specifically the Bani of the Bhagats or Bhagat Bani.

1.) As per Gurbani who is a Bhagat and who is a Guru?

    2.) How do both inter-relate?

3.) Was Bhagat Bani edited by the Gurus? If so how and why?

  4. I know this topic was originally about Gadari BVabbey, but the very intersting subject of the Sikhs and the Marhattas came up as well. I would like to add to that discussion, however if the mods feel that it should be discussed as a separate topic, then please create a separate topic for it.

I have been re-reading a book called "Sikhs in the 18th century" by Gandhi. I wanted to ask fellow forum members if they have read this book, as there is a chapter exclusively on the Sikhs and Marhattas. It is very interesting, but I will wait for a response before I share ay things that are relevant to continuing this topic.

I have read this book. I still have a copy on Scribd (http://www.scribd.com/doc/215200640/Sikhs-in-the-Eighteenth-Century-in-English-by-Surjit-Singh-Gandhi). According to Gandhi, Adina Beg wanted to establish his own rule in the Punjab but his immediate allies, the Sikhs, dreamed of their own reign. Thus, he decided to align himself with the Marathas. There is more as well, but I think Sikh-Maratha relations should be a topic for another thread.

  5. i have a pothi of sri sarbloh guru granth sahib ji that i read allot, the pothi is of its japj isahib or manglacharan bani otherwise known as bhavani ustat.

i have some trouble understanding it as in its manglacharan, (ekongkar sri waheguruji ki fateh sri bhavani ji sahai sri maya lachmi ji sahai ustat sri maya lachmi ji ki sri mukhwakh patshahi 10)

now i can kind understand gurujis shakti theology etc but i find it hard to understand most of the first ang of this bani, eg (sheh roopi hoi gehe bichrat sri gopal api lachmi bapu dare jio jant pratipal.)

others doubt the bani as blatatnt worship of maya and laxmi wich is obviosly against gurmat- but i know that the writings are not snatan because that initself is against gurmat.

the official sri sarbloh granth website made by known nihang jathedars denounces snatanism itself as not part of the khalsa sikhhi or gurmat.

so can anyone help me on the arath of the bani and not dimiss it as somthing that cant be translated.

so i can educate others and clear away snatan ideology (which is false) and reveal the master of gurujis meaning behind his use of the shabad

  6. Here is full discovery of sri bhagwad gita bhaka in sri dasam granth beerh patna which didn't edited by soo called sodhak committe:

The following screenshot is of the contents page from a dasam granth beerh at patna sahib from 1698AD. In the bottom left you can see the bani Sri Bhagwat Gita Bhakha Sri Gobind Singh Kirt listed.

    attachicon.gifpatna-sahib-beerh.jpeg

The manuscript, according to a friend who once read it, focuses on the morals and ethics of a warrior and the privilege of duty. It does support the Budha-Dal belief that the Khalsa is the true Santaan Dharma, ancient and unchanging, as the Guru draws parallels between the merits of Krishna's warriors and his own Nihungs.

  7. source: japji sahib teeka by sant gurbachan singh ji bhindranwale likhak sant kartar singh bhindranwale

Thanks for this, it is extremely insightful. Got any more similar works?

  8. why don't the Sikhs educate the Pakistanis in the uk about how their ancestors were raped and converted into islam by the sword

almost all the Pakistanis in England are kashmire Punjabi and pashtun

if you read history kashmire Punjabi muslims and Pashtuns were converted to islam after the arabs conquered their ancestors

pakis should be feeling ashamed to be muslim

same way educated westernised Persians feel ashamed that the arabs enforced islam on their ancestors hence why many of them supported the shah pre 79 and most Persians in north America are so anti Islamic and pro westernised

It has been tried, but they have deceived themselves. The greatest victim of Islam is the Muslim himself!

Sikh protesters stage sit-in protest in Pakistan parliament over alleged burning of holy book

    World Bulletin/News Desk

Pakistan’s minority Sikh community protested the alleged burning of their religious text when they charged past barricades and staged a sit-in at the parliament Friday.

The Sikh protesters also assembled in the capital, from different parts of the country, to protest against attacks on temples in the southern Shikarpur and Larkana districts in the past week.

"Our Gurdwaras (temples) are being attacked, and copies of Guru Granth (holy book) are being burned for the last one year but the government has totally failed to contain these incidents," Sikh leader Gopal Singh Chawla said while addressing the protesters. He said that six incidents of vandalism in Sikh temples had occurred in the past year in southern Sindh province.

Raja Zafar-ul-Haq, the leader of the Senate -- parliament's upper house -- met the protesters and assured them the government would bring the culprits to justice.

Blasphemy of any prophet or religion and sacrilege of holy books are punishable crimes under the country’s blasphemy act, which could range from imprisonment to capital punishment.

Sardar Ramesh Singh, a Sikh leader from Sindh province, told the Anadolu Agency that a recent attack seemed linked to a similar attack involving local Hindu youths in Shikarpur district last year.

"I cannot say who is involved in fresh incidents but they began from Shikarpur last year," he said. "We are not blaming any community or religion for these attacks. We just want that whoever is involved in that should be taken to task."

There are between 35,000 and 40,000 Sikhs in Pakistan, making them one of the country's smallest minorities. They mostly live in the Muslim-majority country's northeastern Punjab, and northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces. Hindus are the second-largest minority after Christians, consisting 2 percent of the total 180 million population.

It is an epidemic on both sides of the border.

  10. is an audio of Baba Santa Singh still availble on net of Panth Parkash katha?

Try soundcloud or NihangSingh.org. He blasts many myths apart in it. Especially this imbecilic diatribe against hunting, bana, bani, meat etc. There is also a portion where he talks about the Badals and why he did not support Sant Jarnail Singh Ji.

  11. Lahore was already captured in the war Porkistan started and lost, Indira Gandhi ordered the region to be returned back to Porkistanis. International alliances have made taking again slightly more complicated but it can be done as long as the Gandhi family who are actually the Khan family in false guise is shifted out of power.

Isn't this the same idiot who was on Sikhsangat under the pseudonym PakistaniPunjabi or PPO1?

  12. Because that interpretation is not aligned with overall gurmat sidhant listed by sri guru gobind singh ji himself..

aad ant eko avtara soee guru samjaeho hamara

why is it soo hard to comprehend?

With that being said, there are praises respect is given where its due towards rudra-shiv, vaish and other previous indic avtars of akaal purkh in gurbani with central theme (Ikongkar- one akaal purkh vahiguroo) always intact/ never lost -dedicated towards one akaal purkh vahiguroo... as there is a difference between praise and worship. For example- sri guru gobind singh ji mentions jale hari, thale hari does not that mean he is worshipper or upasakh of water and earth? Learnt to know difference between praise and worship (one overall advait sidhant) - ikongkar. Shabad above is in mangal charan in eulogy form dedicated only to one akaal purkh- vahiguroo kind same as atam shaktam where shivoham is repeated mentioned dedicated all prevading siva-vahiguroo..similiarly try to tell advait vedant- shivoham means diety shiv, you be given time out and sent back to their kinder garten class to be their water boy.

I have a kid he gets good marks in maths so i praised him does that meant i worship him?

You are osho fan i thought you would know this that central theme -One being-awareness (akaal purkh) never lost in sargun upma, very disappointed to see you are stuck pseduo sargun idol worshipping like everyone else.

Baba Santa Singh's exegesis of Shiv orbiting the Adi Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Dasam Granth Ji and Sri Sarbloh Granth Ji.

For more information pursue his teeka of the Sri Sarbloh Granth. It's pretty clear on the difference between Shiva (Bolenaath) and Shiv as in Mahakaal, Akal. He quotes extensively from Dasam Bani to criticise Bolenath who is a mediocre reflection of the ever greater Akal. But of course the reality is lost on some delusional individuals and their preconceived ideals.

  13. In soraj parkash granth, sri guru gobind singh maharaj gave mata ajeeto ji updesh of releasing her prana via dasam dwara after mata ji had visions of anandpur siege, sahibzadas shahediya prior to the actual event. Basically maharaj ji validated the vision that what you seeing is true and gave her updesh event cannot be changed as its in hakum of akaal purkh that we should stay in hakum of akaal purkh, but mata ji had extremely komal hirda cannot see the pain at that point, sri guru gobind singh maharaj gave updesh/further jugti to take her surti to dasam dwara and release her prana through bhramrandar nari (vein) which is connected to dasam dwar.

Sooraj Prakash isn't the work of Maharaj himself. Sahib has asked for references from the Dasam Granth.
