Videos clarifies a lot of things. I am with the Baba ji. The sangat seemed to have been worked up, for obvious reasons, to create such misunderstandings.

India’s Modi just delivered the world’s worst compliment
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi waves with Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on June 6. Modi arrived in Dhaka for a two-day state visit to Bangladesh. (Rafiqur Rahman/Reuters)Many Indians woke up Monday to a surge of outrage on Twitter and Facebook against their prime minister, Narendra Modi. It revolved around the words “despite being a woman.”
The hashtag #DespiteBeingAWoman was triggered by Modi’s praise for his Bangladeshi counterpart, Sheikh Hasina, on Sunday during a state visit to Bangladesh.
“I am happy that Bangladesh Prime Minister, despite being a woman, has declared zero tolerance for terrorism,” Modi said in a speech Sunday at Dhaka University.
It is not uncommon for Indian politicians — and Modi’s colleagues in his Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party — to make sexist and misogynistic remarks. But since he was elected to the nation’s highest post a year ago, Modi has carefully constructed a pro-woman image. During an Independence Day speech last year, he spoke about rising sexual assaults on women and accused Indian parents of not raising their sons well. He has promoted programs against female feticide and discrimination against female children in Indian families.
But Sunday’s gaffe created a stir. Overnight, the hashtag gained ground.
“Even though the remark was meant to be a gesture of praise, social-media users interpreted it as an insult to women around the world,” wrote news portal Scroll.in. “Twitter started buzzing with tweets attached with pictures of women achievers of India; scientists from the Indian Space Research Organization, foreign ministers, sportswomen and more.”

Islam seems to have similar restrictions on who can visit a mosque. Heard there are some Hindu temples in Nepal that do the same.

Jammu Police Murders Sikh Youth; Imposes Curfew
By Sikh24 Editors / In India, Punjab, WORLD / June 4, 2015
Police fire on sikh protesters during they protest after removed a poster of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale by police at Rani Ragh near the airport in Jammu on Thursday.
JAMMU, India (June 4, 2015)—A Sikh youth named Bhai Jagjit Singh was killed in police firing during a protest over removal of a poster of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale in Jammu on Thursday. The firing also left two more Sikh youth injured seriously.
Meanwhile, a red alert has been sounded in Amritsar following police firing on Sikh protesters in Jammu.
The Sikh youth converged on Satwari-RS Pura road and blocked traffic in protest against the removal of Sant Bhindranwale’s posters put up by Sikh organisations about his martyrdom being observed on June 6. Police resorted to lathicharge and teargas shelling toward them. Sikhs also raised slogans of ‘Khalistan-Zindabad’.
Members of the Sikh community had put up posters of Sant Bhindranwale and some other Sikh martyrs yesterday on Satwari-RS Pura road here ahead of a programme to pay tribute to him. Station House Officer (SHO) of Satwari Police Station removed the posters, triggering protests from Sikh youths.
Protests are continuing as the agitators are demanding suspension of the SHO for removal of the posters.
The killing of Sikh youth triggered huge outrage among Sikhs throughout the world against Indian state.

Namdhari Leader Wants to Join Khalsa Panth
DSU News Bureau) 3 June 2015- Namdhari leader Thakur Dalip Singh and his followers arrived at Hassanpur, Punjab to visit Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa and to express his willingness to join Khalsa Panth. Bapu Ji was arrested by police and taken to the hospital for force feeding. Although, Thakur Dalip Singh couldn’t meet with Bapu Ji but he met with Sangarsh committee leaders and expressed unity for the cause.
It is important to point out that not all Sikh groups under the Akal Takht have come in support of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa nor have they visited him.
Thakur Dalip Singh isn’t the head of the Namdhari community but an estimated 80% of Namdharis follow him.
The important points towards unity were the following:
1) Namdhari Leader Thakur Dalip Singh has told his followers to use the word Guru while saying Guru Granth Sahib Ji as before his followers pronounced Aad Sri Granth Sahib.
2) They have agreed to use the Fateh greeting as before it wasn’t always used.
3) Majhbhi Sikhs have been given equal rights as before they ate langar separately and were treated unequally, but now those Majhbhi Sikhs that are Naamdhari will be treated equally according to Thakur Dalip Singh.
4) Thakur Dalip Singh has pledged to support Khalsa Raj and a separate Khalsa State.
5) Thakur Dalip Singh has organized a program in the past where Panthic groups were present. In that program, the theme was for unity of various Sikh groups for a common cause. Also, in that program the Dohara ‘Agia Bhaei Akal Ki’ was read and names of only the ten Sikh Gurus were said which has never happened before among the Naamdharis.
Thakur Dalip Singh further pledged to join the Khalsa Panth and to follow it’s Rehats.
The historic meeting for unity is being recognized as a turning point to achieve long avoided goals of the Panth.

dont know what make of this. latest news i ve heard is that these two women were involved in a fight with some other women on the bus and the girl and her mum got pushed out. When they got to hospital they were told to claim they were victims of eve-teasing to claim some compensation.
Doubtful. Possible political ploy.

This is how the seeds of separatism are sown.
"The incidents include killing of a Dalit girl in Moga who was thrown off an Orbit Transport bus, thrashing of granthis by Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Committee, damage caused to a statue of B R Ambedkar in Phagwara and defiling of a picture of Guru Ravidass."
This might also explain the lull and utter lack of compassion. The incident seems to have been politically hijacked, much to the relief of the power jackals.

Yes, heard that too. Let us see how soon justice is served. What I find surprising is that an innocent child of Punjab is killed by induced terrorism and there is hardly any voice on this forum on this news. Where are all the kharkus, rajputs, the jatt squad, the knowledgeable and spiritually enlightened?

Any info on the drivers or the molesters? The victims were named, why not the criminals?

The movie should not have been made. It was a wise decision to pull back the movie. The protests were in the right spirit. I had watched Sikka's interview (was it Sikh Channel?) and the guy seems to have been driven by some irrational emotions to make the movie. The movie posters have a very abrahamical flavour (maybe even the movie itself).
You can spend an eternity and still would not be able to comprehend enough to make a movie on any of our Gurus. Let us get our facts straight.
Why can't there be movies inspired by Sikh teachings?

I tried looking at it like that. But it seems too disconnected from what I know of Guru Gobind Singh ji. (Keep in mind, my understanding of Guru Sahib already lacks a sugar coating )
Why would he order the torture (I have to disagree with you there, this is not painless death), why would he order the torture of all masands for the acts of a few?
(if we are sure that they are acts and not rumours. There are plenty of rumours recorded in our history as well, and taken as fact today)
Guru Gobind Singh ji definitely killed people, but he always had certain code of conduct. He didn't go all out Tyrannical on people like Aurangzeb.
I never implied Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj ordered torture of any kind on anyone. I have absolute faith in my Guru. I was just trying to rationalize the text since this is the first time I have learned about this. Thanks for your thoughts though.

N3O you left out the part where the guys says -
Satiguru ordered the Khalsa, to sacrifice all masands to Chandi.
Some were killed by weapons, others were bricked alive. Some were dragged by horses and killed, others were tortured in boiling oil. What I find interesting here is that that this guy claims that Guru Gobind Singh ji used the same methods of execution that the Mughals used on Sikhs. I don't know what to make of that. I find that a bit hard to believe to be honest.
The other way to look at this what Guru Maharaj ordered and what was carried out. Chandi bheta would possibly mean a painless death.

Whatever happened to civil ways of addressing such issues. Enforced Community or Gurdwara seva (jode, etc). Such merciless beating, especially the elderly, is unjustified. These are no Sikhs rather new age masands.

Waheguru. Hearty condolences Bhagat Singh Ji, to you and your family.

How much rupees do you get as a baksheesh over there? Just curious.
Don't be.
Do you have to adopt the Pakistani lifestyle as well?
Nope. But I heard there were "hindus" trying to "blend" in.
-
Is that what your Pakistani handlers tell you say?
So now you are even scared of Pakistan? Why such insecurity?
