     A  TENDER VIDEO

This was a clip taken of a child whose mother died while giving birth.

The heart of the woman was donated to the person wearing black shirt.

Notice the reaction of the child when child is picked by the person with the heart of her mother.

This video was recorded in a Singapore hospital.

Note: do not know how much true is this video, but,  it carries a deep message of the bond between a mother and her child even after she passing away.

    YOUNG and OLD

    When I was YOUNG,
    I was WORRIED about
    MY PIMPLES.
    When I am OLD,
    I am WORRIED about
    MY WRINKLES.

    When I was YOUNG,
I was WAITING to HOLD HER HAND.
    When I am OLD,
I am WAITING for SOMEONE to HOLD MY HAND.

    When I was YOUNG,
I was LONGING to be ALONE.
    When I am OLD,
    I am WORRIED why
    I am ALONE.

    When I was YOUNG,
    I HATED being  ADVISED.
    When I am OLD,
there is NO ONE around to TALK or ADVISE.

    When I was YOUNG,
    I ADMIRED BEAUTIFUL THINGS.
    When I am OLD,
I see BEAUTY in THINGS around ME.

    When I was YOUNG
    I felt I was ETERNAL.
    When I am OLD,
I know SOON it will be MY TURN.

    When I was YOUNG,
    I CELEBRATED the MOMENTS.
    When I am OLD
    I am CHERISHING MY MEMORIES.

    When I was YOUNG,
I found it DIFFICULT to WAKE UP.
    When I am OLD,
I find it DIFFICULT to  SLEEP.

    When I was YOUNG,
    I WANTED to be a HEART-THROB.
    When I am OLD,
I am WORRIED when will MY HEART STOP.

At EXTREME STAGES of OUR LIFE,
    WE WORRY
    but
    WE DON'T REALIZE,
    LIFE NEEDS to BE EXPERIENCED.

It DOESN'T MATTER whether YOUNG or OLD.
    LIFE needs to be LIVED
    and
    LIVED WITH LOVE.

A Wonderful message and a fact too

    Totally agreed  and verily true.

So sad  how human beings can be that much short minded and mean,  drown in the well of ignorance  they derive pleasure by  belittleling others, not knowing  that their wickedness will return back as  a boomerang with full force ...

  6. Share a joke wth u...

    To a WonDerFuL SaTuRDaY EvEninG!

    The teacher said...
Let's begin by reviewing some history.

Who said: 'Give me Liberty, or give me Death!'?

She saw a sea of blank faces, except for Little Akio, a bright foreign exchange student from Japan, who had his hand up:
     "Patrick Henry, 1775."

    She said,  "Very good!

Who said:  'Government of the People, by the People, for the People, shall not perish from the Earth!'?"

Again, no response except from Little Akio: "Abraham Lincoln, 1863."

    "Excellent!" said the teacher, continuing.

"Let's try one a bit more difficult.
"Who said, 'Ask not what your Country can do for you, but what you can do for your Country'?"

Once again, Akio's was the only hand in the air and he said: "John F. Kennedy, 1961."

The teacher snapped at her class, "Class, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Little Akio isn't from this Country and he knows more about our history than you do."

She heard a loud whisper: "F--k the Japs."

    "Who said that?
I want to know right now," she angrily demanded.

Little Akio put his hand up, "General MacArthur, 1945."

At that point, a student in the back said, "I'm gonna puke."

The teacher glares around and asks, "All right!
    Now who said that?"

Again, Little Akio says, "George Bush to the Japanese Prime Minister, 1991."

Now furious, another student yells, "Oh yeah? Suck this!"

Little Akio jumps out of his chair waving his hand and shouts to the teacher: "Bill Clinton, to Monica Lewinsky, 1997!"

Now with almost mob hysteria, someone said, "You little shit!
If you say anything else, I'll kill you!"

Little Akio frantically yells at the top of his voice, "Michael Jackson to the children testifying against him, 2004."

    The teacher fainted.

As the class gathered around the teacher on the floor, someone said,
    *"Oh shit, we are screwed!"*

    Little Akio said quietly,
"All Americans, Nov 2016 & again in 2020 as Trump got elected!

    Verily true Harman Jee.

I love his songs, which are of a different level, I would say: mystical.

    Reference the book please.

Frankly speaking I have no reference book to provide, for I do not even remember when did I find it on the net and printed it for myself, but that much I do remember it was not a book I think so.

It is just I was going through some papers yesterday, and found this "matter", and as I I went through it again, I found it utterly amazing, so thought of scanning these 10 pages and share it with the sangat here.

    That´s it.

Anyhow if ever by chance I come through that website again, for sure  I will provide the link.

I am new to this forum , feeling blessed to be here, hope the great Gurmukhs will help me to get some spiritual experience.

    thanks. Gurufateh!

    Welcome Guest Jigiasu Jee,

please bear in mind, that the sangat can only inspire you to wanting to love Him, but for that total surrender is required, means nishkam sewa.

It is in His hands to bless us with His darshan if only we please Him, but then that pleasing Him in terms of bhakti, should be performed by us, for nobody can satisfy our hunger by them eating and not us.

We have to eat by ourselves  in order to satisfy our hunger, in a similar way, if we want  Him to enter our inner self, we have to devote ourselves completeley unto Him.

Gurbani by itself is our best inspirer, we only need to pay attention to what it is telling us when we go through it, and then that what we have understood, put it into practice.

The best spiritual experience we can have, is having darshan of His Jot, which means we are on the right tracks of becoming or evolving into pure spiritual beings.

It does not matter even if a lifetime is spent in wanting Him to bless us with His darshan, no time is wasted in that aspect,   then too it would be a worthy bargain, the thing is to be constant in our bhakti, without letting the mind to demoralize us for wanting experiences in exchange.

Even being at His door, is a sign of His utter grace.

    Stay blessed.

.  What do the members on this feel about Sikhism being a religion.  Yes or No?

If the term religion is viewed as per its origin from the latin word re-ligare, which means that which re-unites with our origin, then yes, it is a religion.

Because sikhee teaches us and tells us to hold on to only one thing as per Bani, on Nam, if only we have Him as our goal for wanting to  merge in Him and become one with Him without distinction, then yes it is a religion in that sense,  which is:

awar kaaj tere kittaky na kaam, mil Sadh Sangat bhaj kewal Nam,  or , Nanak Nam jahaaz hae  jinee chareeya se utareeya paar,  or Prabh ka simran sabh tay oochaa.

And to board on the jahaaz of Nam, is to focusingly single minded meditate on His simran.

No other ways, how so hard one may try.

For an intelligent person, the Queen is the most powerful piece in the game of Chess

    main-qimg-3232bff4bd026f377cce24a1126f87d0

For he/she knows it can move in any direction (vertical, horizontal, diagonal) and is able to move any number of squares in the above said directions.

But a wise one knows , the most powerful ones are these little fellas

    main-qimg-64abd611caa194730ed722f07aaf4326

For he/she knows that even though they move only in one direction, one step at a time, they all have the potential to become a Queen , 8 of them

For an intelligent one, his/her game plan revolves around their strongest weapon , take that away and they are defenseless.

For a wise one, their strength is distributed among their experience, skill and identifying the next best set of weapons .

I have been playing Chess for more than 14 years (as a hobby), I can tell you that the opponent’s queen doesn’t bother me as much as the pawns!

    Narcissism.

By  Keren Margolis BA from Philosophy, New York University

Narcissists live in a personal hell.

A narcissist’s weakness is that he/she lives a waking nightmare in which he/she  sees those around him engaging in the warm rituals of love that he/she only experiences in pale imitation.

He/she is more a disorder than person, eventually becoming indistinguishable from it and unable to experience a self.

Narcissism is a disorder of love.

A narcissist is weak because he/she does not experience love the way you and I do.

He/she is weak because he/she is a black hole of love that he/she so desperately seeks, love that is never enough to fill his/her yawning need and which never, ever lands.

Where love doesn’t land it cannot propagate; thus, the narcissist requires an endless supply of love that, once received, is never reciprocated. It simply isn’t there to be returned. It vanishes past the event horizon and ceases to exist.

To have Narcissistic Personality Disorder is to be brittle and prone to collapse.

It is to require a constant external scaffolding of love and admiration in order to feel like one exists.

It is to expend endless energy masking the monster within in order not to frighten away those who might try to heal him/her with love, knowing that they will eventually catch on and leave.

It is to know that the game is unwinnable, and that the narcissist himself is NPD’s first and most wretched victim.

It is to suffer from a crippling disorder that distorts the soul but leaves the body intact.

No one experiences a greater pain than the narcissist himself.

The narcissist looks and talks and acts like the person you love, who is buried within but alive.

You are hurt because you felt a love that was betrayed; he/she is hurt because he never experienced that love to begin with.

It is easy to hate a narcissist. It is easy to cast off the person whose gestures of love inevitably devolve into open contempt.

This is what the disorder wants, to isolate its host and leave him/her utterly at the mercy of his tormented compulsions, constantly living in his/her bubble of insecurity.

The narcissist’s greatest weakness is that his/her disorder renders him/her deeply unlovable, while he is a person who needs love the most.

Salok Mahala 9 and The Pursuit for Happiness

Salok Mahala 9 is one of the final compositions in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib, and is one of the most relevant writings to the world we live in today. With well-paid jobs, fast cars, and Eastenders, we could almost be forgiven for thinking that we dont need anybody else-including God. Few will admit to this view, but this is evident from the way we live our lives today. From grabbing an express langar, to the performance of an emergency ardas the day before your exams, we are losing touch with the gift of Sikhi that we have been blessed with from ages past.

But if you think that this problem didnt exist in ages past you are severely mistaken. Partly to address this problem, Guru Tegh Bahadur (Brave Sword) wrote his great masterpiece, the Salok Mahala 9. At times it can seem very scary, as it warns you of the consequences of not remembering God for the life yet to come. But think of it as an admonishment that a patient teacher may give to a pupil.

dhhun dhaaraa su(n)path sugul jin apunee kar maan ||

Your wealth, spouse, and all the possessions which you claim as your own

ein mai kushh su(n)gee nehee naanuk saachee jaan ||5||

    - none of these shall go along with you in the end. O Nanak, know this as true. ||5||

Many of you will think- so what? Ill become a born again Sikh when I see the white hair coming. Now is the time for me to drive around in my flashy car, and to chill with my crew. To this end, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji says-

thurunaapo eio hee gaeiou leeou juraa thun jeeth ||

Your youth has passed away like this, and old age has overtaken your body

kuhu naanuk bhuj har munaa aoudhh jaath hai beeth ||3||

Says Nanak, meditate, vibrate upon the Lord; your life is fleeting away! ||3||

We are not in control of our own destiny. We can be called upon at any moment of our lives. When you become before God, what will you say? Sorry sir, I didnt really get around to doing the charity work that I promised to do. My mates kept ringing to ask if I wanted to check out the latest Film down at Park Royal.

Serving God is not just a question of sitting down and doing paath for hours on end. Those amongst you who classify himself or herself as being non-religious may be delighted to know that perhaps without knowing it, you already are performing this service. Guru Nanak Dev Ji placed great importance on living honestly, and sharing with others by donating your time and finances to worthy causes.

Why remember God? Whats he ever done for me? Ive got my friends, family, big house, etc. I dont need anyone else!

Well, think about this one- if tomorrow you friends suddenly decided you werent cool enough for them, and then you committed an act so despicable that your family stopped talking to you, and then you lost your job and the house was repossessed, what are you going to do? Who will be there for you?

sukh mai buhu su(n)gee bheae dhukh mai su(n)g n koe ||

In good times, you have many friends, but in bad times, there is no one at all.

kuhu naanuk har bhuj munaa a(n)th sehaaee hoe ||32||

Says Nanak, vibrate, and meditate on the Lord; He shall be your only Help and Support in the end. ||32||

It doesnt matter what youve done- God will always be there for you, ready to help. It doesnt matter how long its been since you talked to the Lord, or that in fact only the last week you were using all the insults you knew to denigrate the Lord. Is there anybody else who would do this?

But thats enough of the scary stuff. Now to the next point-

Ask yourself one question. What is the most important thing you want in your life? A loving spouse, happy family, secure job? Thought of something yet? - good. Now ask yourself this question- why do you want it? This last point is extremely important.

Everything we try to do in our own lives is through our pursuit of happiness. So whether its socialising with friends, or getting hammered every Friday night in the bar (I hope these people are in the minority!), we are trying to convince both ourselves and other people of our happiness.

Guru ji is quite explicit on how this state of happiness can be achieved-

jo such ko chaahai sudhaa suran raam kee laeh ||

If you yearn for eternal peace, then seek the Sanctuary of the Lord.

Wisdom beyond any words to describe the spiritual depth in the words of Guru Jee in the post above on  Salok Mahala 9.

Not much to be said or added, but If summarized, it could well be done in  the following 2 points:

    1) Have no attachments to any materialistic creations, be they of any kind such as of family, possesions, wealth, etc .... for all are temporary and perishable in time and space, and clinging to them, is the reason of our pain and misery

    2) And as seen in the 2 lines below,  establish a true and a  strong everlasting relation with Him, by lovingly meditating upon Him, for He alone is the only ONE and ultimate changeless Truth at all times, the source of true bliss.

Kuhu Naanuk bhuj har munaa aoudhh jaath hai beeth ||3||

Says Nanak, MEDITATE, vibrate upon the Lord; your life is fleeting away!

Kuhu Naanuk har bhuj munaa a(n)th sehaaee hoe ||32||

Says Nanak, vibrate, and MEDITATE on the Lord; He shall be your only Help and Support in the end.
