  1. Yes mod's edit you are correct the aricle is full of bs anything that you write is 100% true everyone else is bs.

    HIndustan zindaabad

Yes, the article is full of b.s - Every major country in the world labels the khalistanis as fascists. Hell, you're being thrown out of your own gurudwaras.

And its ironic that the author wants to talk about democracy but wants to set up a theoratic state called khalistan.

The prevelance of the caste system in indian society does not disqualify india from being a democracy as much the prevelance of class system, racism disqualify the west from being a democracy.

  2. The scholars of early sikhism (mostly brahmins and khatris) who wrote beutiful poetry, prose, sublime thought have all left sikhism. Replaced by (you know who) who have no such history. Meanwhile, on this forum I see people proclaiming themselves as kysterias further propogating the caste system with its rules (weapons worship, good food vs. bad food, singh surnames, kesri colours)

    Sikhism has lost its direction.

  3. Would you also have been of the same view when India was standing in front of the world with a begging bowl? The same farmers turned around a beggar like state of India by producing enough for local consumption and exports. What an ungrateful view of things... But expected from a "Hindustani" (BTW, you sound very familiar. Also hiding behind "Amandeep" is not going to help much)

I know what you are getting at. "Amandeep" is as much sikh as "singh" is - not very much.

Outside of a relatively stable job and income getting into manafacturing, services, government, private companies etc..also is the sure shot way of decimating tribalism, casteism, sexism, feudalism and general stupidness.

However, in the long run caste or religious based quotas/reservations are a vote grab nothing more. However, some posters have pointed out that it did help other communities. So best of luck!

  4. The life of the farmer is tough not just in India but all across the world. You really need the proper skills, passion for it just like any other profession. And some good luck as well because one bad summer or monsoon season and you are done. Unfortunately, I dont have a list of all the OBCs in the country but I would bet that most of them are in this profession.

I think that in punjab free water and electricity are provided to the farmers and most them are still looking for more. This puts an unsual stress on the system. In the west, governments are not allowed to give subsidies because its against trade agreements but these handouts are called "grants" because most farmers cannot survive even in the west.

The corporations can do this cheaper, faster and with better technology.

Its smarter for farmers to use their wealth to educate their children and get them more stable professions.

As for the movies, music about farming those are purposely created because it pulls at your heart strings and these artists know that. The result is ching ching for the artist.

  5. The jatts demanding or asking to be included into the backward classes is a direct result of this community sticking to farming as livelyhood and staying out of manafacturing, service, government jobs.

In fact, most of the communities included on the backward class list are basically farmers. The moral of the story? Get out of farming.

Which brings me to my point in the "hans raj hans" thread. Money, position, power, education talks everything else walks. Including gangsta stuff...

  6. Everything in the world today is decided via the boardrooms, courtrooms, senate offices.

Who was saying that anyway? Not me.

But, still, there are ground level differences in the communities, Fauji Sikhs ARE generally more inclined to working class, manual jobs here than Hindus. And get this. The pendus will come here and think they've hit the lottery by landing a labouring job. If one can land and handle a brickie, carpentry or plasterer job - hell! the man is no less than a king amongst his peers! lol

I see Hindus come here, upper class ones as doctors, and middle class ones as computer programmers. I've seen a smattering of HPs working in Sikh owned and dominated building firms though. But generally Sikhs will do jobs many other Indians will feel are degrading or too hard. Panjabi pendus also have a stong drinking culture too, which is akin to the Irish/English one - if not worse.

I don't think Hindus can really appreciate the mindset and worldview of a Sikhman because being a minority wherever we go, and a visible one at that, we have to consider things. Not only that, but we also have the whole legacy of Guru Gobind Singh's belief in the importance of being able to protect yourself wisping around as an ideal - whether or not we rise to it.

Hindus often appear to be very sophisticated, conservative and reserved, whilst many common Sikh men can be raucous and simple. I'm one of that latter type, and make no bones about it.

I should add that we also do have our business highflyers like Narinder Kapanay, Gurdev Khush, Ajay Singh - the CEO of Mastercard (zzzzzz......) I don't get what Hindustani is trying to get at?

PS - I know the thread has serious shifted off point. I'll bow out now.

Do you think that hinduism would have survived this long if it did not have an ability to fight? While its sister civilizations have disappeared and read about in books.

Do you think 500 years of survival is great? How about 2000, 3000, 4000?

BTW, Guru Gobind Singh ji was not just a master of war but equally a master of education, learning and analysis. Maybe you should also strive for that ideal as well?

The Gurkhas and Tamils are docile, peace loving people in real life until pushed and they become fierce warriors. Every human being retains this ability. Before the Gurkhas and Tamils, it was the sikhs before that it was the marattas before that it was the guptas before that it was the rajputs before that the Tamils again and then the Biharis.

Push the gujju or punjabi hindu far enough you may get the same result....

  7. Just look at the situation of Punjabi Hindus of west Punjab right before partition. They along with the Sikhs of west Punjab were the wealthiest and most industrious people in India. And in the case of the Hindus, they were also very educated. But when things got hostile, what good did all that wealth, education do? in the end people of east Punjab had to resort to the "low level gangstar stuff".

The jews of Europe are another example people who thought they could rely on their success within Europe. But no amount of success could stop their holocaust. They are an example for us to follow. Today they have their own country that they can call home. Now they have a standing army which can beat any army in the middle east or even Europe.

Those are all blips. When life gets back to normal its all about wealth and education.

BTW, congratulations to Indra Nooyi (CEO-Pepsi) Congratulations to Satya Nadella (CEO-Microsoft) and Dr. Arvind Gupta (CEO- UBC)

and I am saddened by the passing of another hindu visionary last year Amar Bose -Bose Stereo Corporation.

Now continue with the "gangsta stuff"

  8. In my lifetime I have seen gujus bust so called singhs...hell I have even seen "singhs" running from "singhams" as they say in sri lanka...the tamil tigers...

Maybe in Hindustan, but outside 'Hindus' only seem to have two plans in the face of ground level violence: (1) Arselick and look vulnerable hoping for sympathy or (2) Try and hide behind Singhs.

    lol

Then again the hindus are too busy getting top grades, top positions in business, politics, academia.......to worry about low level gangster stuff...

  9. Any individual ignoring the power of hindu civilization to defend itself is a fool! Buddhism nearly brought hinduism to extinction until a ferocious comeback resestablishing hinduism. The moslems deep into their rule nearly brought hinduism to extinction until once again a ferocious comeback starting in the 16th century.

Ignore at your own peril. There is a saying for people like this "getting high on your own supply"

the khalsa or the mullahs dont have a chance in la la land against a fairly united hinduism...

  10. The jatt leader raja raam dug up akbars remains, burned them and sent aurangzeb some. Absolutely infuriating him.

Better idea send his body to pakistan. betcha it wont make through punjab. We have this losers body but afghanistan has the body of prithvi raj chauhan buried next to ghaznivi ...maybe a swap..

  11. In this tomb lies the body of the man that poisoned relations between communities perhaps forever. There lies the body of the man that committed so much crimes during his day that its beyond comprehension. The tomb lies in the deep south where Aurangzeb spent the last 30 years of his life fighting the marathas. Based on his last days Aurangzeb was extremely repentent of the crimes he committed. Only God knows...

The last words of Aurangzeb, addressed to his sons from death-bed, echo mournfully :

“I came a stranger to this world and a stranger I depart.

I know nothing of myself – what I am and what I was destined for.

“My back is bent with weakness and my feet have lost the power of motion.

The breath which rose is gone and has not left behind even a ray of hope.

“The agonies of death come upon me fast.

My vessel is launched upon the waves !

  12. The janeu is replaced by the gatra, the stone idols are replaced by the sri guru granth sahib, the ritualistic bathes at the ganges are replaced by the bath at the harmandir sahib and on and on.......

The irony is that every major sikh scholar in history had to read and understand hinduism before truly understanding sikhism. That continues even today.

Below is what a muslim says about the death of Guru Gobind Singh ji Maharaj. Eyewitness account of the sikhs during that period.

Ibrat Niimah or the Swaneh, 1705-19 A. D, written by Mirza Muhammad Harisi., devotes some thirteen pages to the contemporary account of the Sikhs, with particular reference to Banda Singh. The author mentions that Guru Gobind Singh had travelled in the train of Emperor Bahadur Shah to the Deccan and was killed there in 1120 al-Hijri, 1708 A. D., by an Afghan, an old enemy of his, and his body was cremated according to Hindu rites. Ajit Singh, who was popularly known as his son and had been received into royal favour, remained with the Emperor.

  13. wow, first Baba Banda Singh Bahadur and now Bhagat Singh and Udham Singh as well? I must hand it to you. I have seen a lot of shameless people in my life but you will be one of the most memorable ones. I have seen the interview of Bhagat Singh's sister in which the interviewer asked her whether or not their family ever did paath when growing up. She said, her mother would recite paath for all the children daily, when he grew up he temporarily became an atheist but again became a believer in Sikhi while in jail and even grew his Kesh before dying something that hindus do not like to show in their bollywood movies.. And Udham Singh wanting to represent the entire Indian nation gave the honour to Hindus and Muslims by having that name. You should not confuse this nice gesture as proof of him not being a Sikh. The man took revenge for hundreds of Hindus and Muslims dying and what do Hindus do? they killed many times more of his people in 84 than had in jillianwala bagh massacre by the British.

By the way, new research into Udham Singh suggests, that name was Mohammad Singh Azad. The Ram part was later added by Hindus.

My family were also atheists types who had the typical habits of Punjabis(drinking, cutting hair, partying) before operation blue star. The suffering caused by Operation bluestar moved the Sikhs so much that my entire family became practicing Sikhs. This is the story of many people. Sikh freedom fighters who had fought for India's freedom, had they been young men during the 80s, they would have done what thousands of Sikh youth did by picking up the gun against the oppression being done on their people.

I have seen that interview as well. Bhagat's sister says that he did the paath of the Bhagavat Gita.
