  2. “Aghor is a very mysterious study which is rarely mentioned in books and hardly understood even by the yogis and swamis of India. It is an esoteric path involving solar science and is used for healing. This science is devoted to understanding and mastering the finer forces of life—finer than prana. It creates a bridge between life here and hereafter. There are very few yogis who practice the aghori science, and those who do are shunned by most people because of their strange ways.”

“Aghor is a path which has been described in the Atharva Veda, but in none of the scriptures have I ever read that human flesh should be eaten. I asked him, “Why do you live like this, eating the flesh of dead bodies?”
He replied, “Why do you call it a ‘dead body’? It’s no longer human. It’s just matter that is not being used. You’re associating it with human beings. No one else will use that body, so I will. I’m a scientist doing experiments, trying to discover the underlying principles of matter and energy”

Excerpt From: Swami Rama. “Living with the Himalayan Masters.”

  3. Sri Dasam Jee Bani demands more sucham (cleanliness) than ordinarily, includes physical as well as mentally. Reason being SINGH shaheed's are around us while we recite Sri Dasam Jee Bani. One incident as told by Giani Thakur Singh in his katha, a Singh used to do 25 Chandi de waar recitals daily and one day while reciting he opened his eyes to see a very huge Singh sitting besides him, he was naturally shocked, but singh calmed him and said we are instructed to keep an eye for you as you do a lot of Sri Dasam Jee Bani. Also for those who want to do Sri Dasam Bani, should have clean thoughts or else these Shaheed Singhs can wring you out. Giani Thakur Singh jee also said we should added more simran to daily nitnem if we aspire to do this bani as it even it out.

    Listen to it.

  4. I found out about Gyani Harbans Singh Jee from Giani Thakur Singh katha, he says Giani Jee is very scholar. This is the excerpt, I found on gurmatbibek.com about Giani Jee, Hope it helps.

Giani Harbans Singh Nirnaikaar is a very Panthik writer of books on Gurbani and Gurmat philosophy. He is very old now and lives in Patiala. In 2007, I had the fortune of meeting with Giani jee and it was a very interesting Mulaqaat (meeting). He showed me his reference material and I was most impressed with his collection of countless Gurbani Pankitis by subject. He used to use this material when writing his books as during his time there were no search engines as today.

He was merely 7 years old when he started doing Paath from Laridaar Saroop of Siri Guru Granth Sahib jee and within a year or so, he was a skilled and fluent Paathi. His speed was so fast that he once did a complete Paath of Siri Guru Granth Sahib jee in one sitting, in 24 hours. This means he could do Paath of each Ang in less than 1 minute. That means that whole of Siri Guru Granth Sahib jee is like Kanth to him. As an Akhand Paathi he's in the same league as Sant Gurbachan Singh and Bhai Atma Singh Panjokhra Sahib. Today how many Paathis are out there who are so fluent?

He is the second Sikh after Professor Sahib Singh to do complete Teeka of Siri Guru Granth Sahib jee and his Teeka too is based on Gurbani Viyakaran but he has always kept the traditional meaning of Gurbani alive, where possible. The uniqueness of his Teeka is that for difficult Pankitis, he has done a detailed discussion by first listing meanings done by different scholars and then explaining why his meanings are correct. Some Gursikhs have objected to this approach but others think this kind of comparative study and work is very helpful in understanding Gurbani. Second uniqueness of his Teeka is that he has provided guide to Gurbani Uchaaran like Bindi, Adhak, throughout his Steek.

When Giani Bhag Singh wrote his book against Dasam Granth, Giani jee's book came soon after, refuting all charges of Giani Bhaag Singh. In his long life, Giani Harbans Singh has written many books - more than 25 I believe. He has written entire books on such subjects as Karah Parshaad, Gurmat Bairaag Darshan, Ardaas etc.

For serious students of Gurbani Arths, Giani jee's Teeka is a vital book to have. His book on Gurbani Viyakaran is quite easy to understand but it's not as detailed as Talwara jee's book.

He is very impressed with the pious living of Baba Ajit Singh Nathalpur (not to be confused with Hansaliwale). He did great service to Panth by writing a detailed book on his life. Baba Ajit Singh was a contemporary of Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh jee and he used to preach against any use of medicine. His Bachans used to cure diseases of his companions as easily as wind blows away smoke.

  5. What are you so afraid of that you are actually suggesting we should abandon historical study to find out the truth?  Are you so worried about the wool being pulled off your eyes and that you will feel embarassed for believing in something that may not have been exactly what you thought it was?
I think it's a far larger injustice to propagate information without knowing the truth...

I don't care for you or others like you, I m concerned for forum in large. Why would you bother what I comment or not.

  6. Sangat Jee please aapni sharda bachao, just don't get involved with these useless and time wasting topics, we have nothing to gain here but everything to lose here. Every amritdhari sikh is instructed during amrit sanchaar keep you faith on amrit, never doubt on it and everything that is told during the ceremony is told by Guru Gobind Singh Jee by himself. The topic is directly a slur on it. I doubt OP is amritdhari yet?. Don't create doubt, bring good topics which can be appreciated by the forum or else don't .

Are we sikhs of Guru Gobind Singh Jee Maharaj or some uninformed authors. Ask?

  7. Satkirin, You win,ok. Thats what you want to hear right, want a medal too? Not stop hogging the forum. Leave ours Sri Dasam Granth Jee to us. Your fingers must be tired by now, huh? what you get out of these past few days, nothing just self ego boost. I know you won't do it as I said it earlier also, ask Guru Granth Jee Maharaj about your so called opinions and take hukamnama and share with forum what Guru Maharaj says, and now give us rest.

  8. Perhaps it would be appropriate to treat it the same as a nitnem gutka?? A Gutka contains bani and we respect it as such, but we don't matha tek to a gutka or place it on a palki... by your thinking we should also matha tek to our nitnem gutkas and refer tot hem as Guru because they also contain gurbani.  It's not individual shabads that make it Guru but the compilation as a whole which was declared by Guru Ji to succeed him as GURU.  Therefore a nitnem Gutka, containing gurbani is treated with respect because it conatins gurbani, but we don't call our nitnem gutkas Guru, we don't place them in a palki, or matha tek to them, or do parkash... and final say on ANY matter should be taken from SGGSJ, not Dasam Granth, especially if they seem to disagree.

and yes I am always the FIRST one to say it's not the physical pages but the wisdom contained within that we revere as Guru.  But that's my point... The wisdom contained in SGGSJ as a whole, that was what Guru Ji proclaimed as succeeding Guru...

We should bow to Nitnem Pothi Sahib in our homes, it is closest thing to Guru sahib in our home. Every Gurbani Verse even written on a paper should be given same respect as Guru Granth Sahib Jee Maharaj. Instead of just blurting out anything comes in our mind kindly contemplate. Take a break.

Baṇī gurū gurū hai baṇī vicẖ baṇī amriṯ sāre.
The Word, the Bani is Guru, and Guru is the Bani. Within the Bani, the Ambrosial Nectar is contained.

If His humble servant believes, and acts according to the Words of the Guru's Bani, then the Guru, in person, emancipates him. ||5||
  9. This is Damdami Taksal's Rahiraas:

(Damdami Taksal worships Ram Chander and Vishnu):

    (in Roman transliteration):

    Dohraa

Raam kathaa jug jug atal, sabh koee bahkhat nayt.

Surg baas raghubar karaa, sagri puree samay. 1

    Chaupai

Jo ih kathaa sunai aur gaavai.

Dookh paap tih nikat naa aavai.

Bisan bhagat kee ih phal ho-ee.

Aaadhi byadhi chhvai sakai naa ko-ee. 1

    (English translation): Dohra

The story of Ram will remain known through Ages and all shall ever narrate it.

Raghubar (Ram) went to heavens and took his entire city with him.

    (So, Damdami Taksal worships Ram):

    Dohra Those who will listen to or sing this (Ram’s) story;

sufferings and sins will not come near him.

This will be the fruit (profit) of the meditation upon the name of Vishnu.

No disease or illness will be able to touch him. 1

(So, Damdami Taksal worships Vishnu also):

I can explain what is saying in the Rehras Sahib which is by the way correct, don't bring up things you didn't research and just quoting some nonsense interpretation. I can explain to you but I can't understand for you

Admin freeze the thread it is not going anywhere, just hurling accusations and creating animosity in the forum.

Instead of the circle jerk debate, why don't bring up something which we can all learn, all I can see is hate spewing in this forum. Why don't you guys messages each other without involving forum.

  10. Has he done the complete katha of SSGGSJ?

    Bhul chuk maaf

Sant Jee do katha of hukumnama of the given day. For those of us who feels like santhiya is an issue, just listen to Giani Thakur Singh gurbani diction, because we learn saying but first listening and then imitating. He has website, kindly refer to it.
