  1. lets do this,

lets change the perception of sikhs by being normal (insteadof uptight and militant).

lets bring sikh culture as opposed to ghetto punjabi culture in the forefront, lets build virtue...

and then make our presence known...

we'll be chardeekallah in every aspect instead of waiting for things to happen

    here here..

the problem doesnt lie only with Sikh girls.. Do you see the way Sikh guys act? Theyre more into their punjabi culture and drinking and big up jat pride crap, rather than actually following Sikhi.

And what about all the older generation of Sikhs thats into castes and that.. the Sikh community as a whole needs to improve and learn about their religion. Not just the girls.

  2. um ok just read some of the stuff on that site. So we have Namdhari Sikhs and what are other Sikhs called ?

Great we already have sects in Sikhi. Great.

I dont believe that stuff about Guru Gobind Singh ji's death, why would he stay around in hiding, he wasnt scared of the emporer and about him appearing later to assist people.. well my dad always says that if a Sikh is ever in great need and asks with a pure heart for help from the Guru, then the Guru will appear or help that person out.

So yes thats my explaination

(sorry if i make no sense)

  3. ^ Why are people doing this? We only have ten Gurus and thats it! Guru Granth Sahib ji is our last and final guru.

If people keep making other gursikhs into gurus then Sikhi will come to have sects just like Christianity and Islam.

We are supposed to be a united brotherhood, so why are people going and making other new "gurus" ?

Do we really want to end up like the Sunnis and Shi'ites or the Christians and Catholics? :(

  4. Is there any online site that offers advice from Sikh scholars?

For example, there are many Islamic sites where people can ask the imams or scholars certain questions about the religion, prayers, practices and basically anything.

It would be great if there was such a site for Sikhs to turn to.

  5. And those Iraqis are delusional maniacs who will hopefully one day get their rightful punishemnt.

<Admin-Cut> that kind of thinking really pisses me off because its thinking like that which leads to violent acts like the beheading of that guy.

You cant group ppl like that, there are many many more innocent Iraqi civilians that are being killed.. but obviously this murder will stand out to everyone because of the way it was carried out and recorded.

Its disgusting and the guys responsible for it should be punished.

Waheguru knows all.. and sooner or later all these ppl killing innocent ppl will get whats coming to them.

sukhi_v - right on.. so true

  6. Yes. It is absolutely okay. In my opinion God doesnt accept children who dont respect or treat there parents well. In one way God has come in the form of parents to us.

Guru Nanak Dev ji had so much respect for his parents, even though they always use to hurt him, scold him. He still did family business, still listenned to his father and even took him to sach khand !

Are you saying that it is ok for parents to physically hurt their children and for the children to take the beatings without protest?

  7. There's something called brainwashing

so even if you think there not forcing they are you using mind games to defeat you.......so yes that is a way to get you to convert becoz thats the point of the subject

Lol pleaseeeeeeeeeee give me a break! Brainwashing

So how about ppl from a different religion that embrace Sikhi ..r they being brainwashed too?

u know what people like yourself will one day will probably experience from a musalman battle and will probably lose

    People like me?

I dont appreciate you telling me what will or wont happen to me.

  8. I am not saying u support Islam.

However I would just like to make my point that people who are following Islam by the very rules of their religion have to be like and do like the prophet did. Or dont they cease to be muslims ?

I mean if the leader showed them the way, wouldnt the followers follow.

The point is that Islam gives its followers a clear agenda, which it wants muslims to follow. They may or may not becauase of Humanitariian sensibilities BUT not because of their religion.

Yet how many of them actually live as the Prophet did?

    Only a minority maybe do.

  9. Noor: Please read the History of early Islam, strating from the days of the Prophet.

Whats Dar ul Islam and Dar Ul Harab.

Is it incorrect that Jews and Pagans were murdered by the Prophet in cold blood ?

Is it incorrect that their women were captured, made slaves and given to the followers of the prophet to be used as sex machines ?

Is it incorrect that the Prophet married beautiful Jewess the same night after killing her husband abd relatives.

Is it incorrect that Quran clearly states that u should fight and destroy the infidels and humiliate the people of the book..

    Please address these questions Noor.

Suggested reading: Life of Mahomet: Sir William Muir

So are you telling me that because Prophet Mohammed did such things and theres a history of violence in Islam.. we should hold all Muslims accountable? This should be held against them and they should be judged by this?

My post from before said nothing about Islam itself. If you read it again you'll see that there is no comment made by me there that supports Islam or anything about the history of Islam and the Prophet.

  10. history repeats itself

guru gobind singhji was backstabbed by a moghul

    how could u forget

his innocent sweet children were killed by the moghuls

you will find these days that al queda and the terrorist organisations have a similarity with the moghuls basically they want to convert the whole world...

Convert the whole world? I didnt hear about this. Isnt it more political than about religion itself? Cos I seriously doubt they have set out to convert the world.

And how bout remembering not to judge a whole grp of ppl by the actions of a few? You wouldnt like it if others started judging Sikhs in such a manner if something similar happened.

anyways we knocked the moghuls down, we kicked em off their balance..

you see it happening today innocent people dying in the name of terrorism..

the best religion of all religions is to remember god

i dont get why people can stay in the country that fed them and bomb it down..

    im proud of the khalsa

if it wasnt for the khalsa we might not be sikh today

    think about it..

Everyone is, all Sikhs, but that doesnt mean you have to view another religion as the 'enemy'.

we have to prevent our sikh sisters from being converted to some religion

educate them..make them aware.. the rest is up to them

    stand against injustice

if you see any indian girl being converted 2 some next religion by force do something about it.. go after the dude..

we need to form an organisation that goes after fundamentalists

and do what...kill them? beat them up?

create more religious tension in the community and prove to the non-desis that all their stereotypes about the asian community are true?

id rather die then be converted

respect to u... but not everyone that converts does so because they were forced to convert... most ppl convert by choice.

  11. thnx Rochak Malang and N30 ..I really liked that piece of writing you posted. :)

    Amrik$ingh -

"Waheguroo is the only friend you'll ever need" ...so true. I've realised that one can only count on themselves and God, everyone else comes and goes.

    Kaur- thnx :)

  12. Summeet Kaur ..thnx sis..I'll definetly remember that :)

Jamuka, Amrik$ingh - I know what you guys are saying, but its hard not to care and love (in a friendship way) about someone who you know so well. I dont understand ppl, it seems like everyone just looks out for #1 and thats it.

I still dont get why doing my prayers makes me cry :?

  13. I dont know why I'm posting this but here goes

I need some guidance. I realised that I've always felt lost, alone and just incomplete. Life honestly has no real meaning to me, no real attachment.

Someone I really trusted just backstabbed me. I've lost many ppl in the past few yrs. Thinking about my future makes me depressed. I'm lost.

So I did what most ppl would do, talked with my friends. Well I tried to. It was too hard, just couldnt do it. Got help from a counselor, that helped somewhat. What really started making me feel like everything would be alrite was/is Sikhi.

I love going to the gurdwara and sitting there by myself. I do paath and listen to shabads. But every time I do these things, I start crying :? I dont understand this.

The one thing that comforts me and gives me peace of mind also makes me cry, sometimes for no reason. Why? Does this happen to anyone else? :(
