Don't forget considering yourself as only half-human and considering your husband as God.

Actually I have to disagree with this. My husband can cook (better than I can), my apartment looks like a tornado hit it, my husband is the one who tries to build my ego (no not ego... more like self confidence)  because often I undersell myself.  He can look after himself quite easily and he's way more into doing things like housework and cooking together instead of being served.  I want to pursue broadcast engineering after military is done next year... and he is being hugely supportive.  broadcast engineering is basically electronics technician with the broadcast stuff thrown in (both tv and radio / transmissions).  It's a LOT of math that I have not looked at since high school... eek!  But anyway he is being very supportive.

Yea go for it, math gets on our nerves but fun as hell lol. Good thing he is very supportive.

Women have better things to do than stand around getting their pictures taken.

They have better things to do.

Such as taking selfies and posting them on Facebook.

cook, clean, work, give birth to kids, raise them, after marriage look after husband like a baby ( since men cant look after themselves), build men's ego by giving them fake compliments and many more things.

So you mean Singhnis can dress in skimpy clothing and show all to the world?? LOL This is news to me! I always thought modesty was expected! No I mean I was TOLD modesty is expected! Why are the sampardas (of which some of you on here are very devout to) claiming that ALL jewelry are a no no if historically Singhnis could wear 10 pounds of gold? Why is modesty preached if historically Singhnis dressed like tramps? (yes, showing your entire stomach and having barely enough fabric to cover your boobs is dressing trampy). Sorry but it is... its proven time and time again women wearing next to nothing (especially in the boobage area) creates objectification of women. In other words, if it's visible men will look and they WILL ogle.

Well artist forgot to create her Boobs so I don't expect him/her to rememeber to create full stomach covered choli.

It's a Dastaar Boonga, turban tower, a stack of multiple turbans.

Mughals never wore that but they did wear Dumalla.

Can you believe sikh women wearing jewelry and long skirts?!

    lol

Long skirts= Lehnga you mean? Lol

Yea I think before suits were discovered that was the attire. I don't know my hath is very tang in history . :(

  5. Akasha:

    Summary of the first video.

Indra's net called fabric of universe reflecting the interconnectednes of everything by looking at multifaceted jewels, which reflects the every other jewel. It can be like a holographic universe.

Fractal pattern : geometric shapes which are split into different parts where each part is the copy of the whole pattern. Easily can be seen in leaves, pinecone, trees, leaves, snowflakes and many more.

Interesting thing I saw was the movement of corn starch and water's mixture. With the sound we know that we can affect shapes and patterns can be created. Some of the patterns resembled leopard's spot, sun flowers and other natural patterns already occurred in nature. The craziest was the corn starch and water seemed like a living organisms moving. Now I think I was able to see how universe can be created from sound waves.

    Cool experiment

I can't say for UK for sure but I can speak about Canada but the process will be the same. I was just married in India in Sept 2015.

If you are gori (Caucasian) and marrying a Punjabi Sikh under anand Karaj you will first need to change your name officially in your documents to last name Kaur. This is because of a hukamnama from 2007 from SGPC.  They want to be sure that anyone not born into Sikhi is actually serious about following Sikhi because anand Karaj can only be between two Sikhs.

Also make sure you register your marriage right away with the registrar of marriages where you are (under new anand marriage act --- unless Jammu Kashmir then it's a bit more complicated. You will require this proof of marriage - both the marriage agreement (registration) and the marriage certificate. You get the certificate after the agreement is registered.  Without this paperwork UK will not give your spouse permanent residence.

You will also need other proof of established relationship like photos, past Indian visas etc to show it wasn't a one off thing ( which indicates scam for green card type of thing).  They want to see you two have been together for awhile in a genuine relationship. Also photos from the marriage, invitations, etc.  Especially photos with your families involved. That way they know your family is supportive. Less chance it will be a scam if your family is participating in the wedding.

Mother than that there is a lot of papers for the actual application. But that's where UK and Canada may differ in their process.

    So jayo.. Raat ho gee.

I hate Mother Nature and her way of creating human bodies :(

Agreed that even the above is a form of animal cruelty, but animal cruelty takes place to acquire vegan diet too.

If one starts thinking about animal cruelty, we cannot live a householders life. We will have to become ascetics and retire to jungles or have a personal farm/cow, etc, in order to survive.

    Bhul chuk maaf

Yea.. I am a vegan  and I still know I do animal cruelty with the clothes shoes I wear and all the stuff I choose. It's hard to not become part of it.

  10. Never liked jusreign but this video is hilarious lol

If someone call me phenji or sister, I start thinking of that guy as a brother. Even if I like someone and that person says sister, that's it he's my brother now lol and my feelings are gone ( never happened but I Know it will work that way). I don't know about other women but me being not married I know there is one out there and for that reason I never call any guy brother unless that dude is married and is too old or young for me. We should not look with dirty eyes at opposite gender but at the same time we should not be calling them sister and brother when we don't know who is the one for us lol.

Once I am married, I will start calling everyone veerji since I won't have to be careful but until then I only call someone veerji unless they call me sister or married and are too old and young for me lol

Probably because that was entirely different context. It was a case that shows how dangerous the whole 'wives must be obedient to their husbands' thing can actually be because it was a case of marital sexual abuse. Husband forcing wife into obedience to comply.  And I wasn't descriptive anyway except to say that's what he was forcing her to do. And it was not meant to entice people into looking at disgusting videos for kicks.  And it's a whole different level sexually speaking than eating feces!!!

There is an entirely different thing when someone narrates a situation that happened to show that it's bad or illustrate a situation or circumstance than it is to post links and titles of videos made for nothing more than fetish / shock value.

Maybe I have been too sheltered...

You shared something to inform us which you found crazy and I shared something which I found soo crazy and what's the guarantee people won't search the stuff you posted. What you described was not less than a shock value either, we just don't over react to everything and don't go around saying I can't believe you guys know this stuff, it's disgusting. And then start judging how you know all beings on planet and how all the people who know stuff like this will start doing it. In other word, people who know what is good and bad, they know it.

True, topics like these and the crazy war we have been having over men and women should not be on a religious forums. You can get the mods to delete it, I requested, you can try now.

  12. A lot can be learn from Hinduism and many other religions, if Sikhs stop looking down on other religions.

you must realise that, not only will people like samurai reject out right any explanation involving hindu concepts, they will resent such views even being expressed.  hence his demand to put an end to it.  it doesnt matter how thought-out your explanation is.

anyway this is a place of discussion, so its fine to share.  but to some it is offensive (not me), for reasons stated above.

well if that is incorrect samurai can say so.  but lets be honest?

Are you the mean type guest jee who always posts mean stuff if yes, I am proud of you for being somewhat nice today and yes you said it right, I think we are brainwashed to reject Hindu concepts since we will call it brahmanvad and downgrade it and that's the problem when a Sikh try to use Hindu concepts we will go against him with all the force lol. I am just an observer lol
