  1. Amrit is very important for an Sikh because Guru ji created amrit (immortal drink) to benefit us..I don't know why sikhs of today hate the word "amrit" like if it was a poision...why would guru create poison for his sikhs??..

do sikhs despise amrit itself or the manner in which it is forced upon them?

moving on... this is exactly what i wanna know.

what is the benefit of amrit?

  2. As long as you are attached or are in the grasp of your reality, whether it be your dream or this world its existence is important.

when you awaken from your disillusion then what importance does it hold for you realize the false existence of your dream/world.

Pheenu, extend this thought to all of your lives and what your soul believes its suffering through while remaining "veiled" and you'll know what i was talkin about in terms of the pm i sent to you about 'sin'.

none of it is of consequence cuz in the end, there is only One.

    cappeesh?

  3. what are the rights of heterosexual individuals? why are heterosexual individuals allowed to legally be married? why isn't this extended to homosexual individuals IF indeed every individual is equal before and under the law and has the right to the equal protection and equal benefit of the law without discrimination?

as for marriage and how it's understood and defined by society, let's take a look at it a lil closer. gimme some time to find marriage laws or whatever (i've got exams in a week or so, so i'm a lil hard-pressed for time). we'll look at that and figure out whether i even have a case.

you lost me with the family dialogue. wanna explain again please?

we already have laws against abusive and neglectful parents... or have you not heard of something called "social services"?

and yeah, parents in abusive marriages have been known to have their children separated from them as a result of the negative effects of their relationship on the child. it doesn't happen as often because people suffer in silence, but if you're gonna tell me that we allow it, i'm telling you right now that you're wrong. it's not allowed.

i don't understand how you can talk about infringing upon the rights of a paedophile when a paedophile's sexuality is based purely on infringing upon a child's safety.

my suggestion to you: if you really don't care, why are you arguing about it so much with me? (don't you dare stop arguing. i still wanna hear what you have to say.)

  4. Lets try something, i wana know what you think i've said, I've already written something, trying to decipher what i had said but i wana know what you think. It seems you are on a roll for the past 2-3 months, so who knows u might find something in what i said that is more in depth than i could ever think of.

Here are some starting points from teh Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji.

this should be interesting. Don't retranslate the quotes, but use them as a starting point to think for your own thoughts.

    ooookay...

what i did, Pheenu, is read the entire shabads that the tuks are from...

combining what i learned or interpreted from both, i think we've stumbled onto a discussion of spiritual sins/deeds.

for the past couple of weeks, i've been discussing the nature of "nearness" with God with a couple of other people, and the general conclusion seems to be that God is all-pervading and as a result, we're always near him. but we deceive ourselves into thinking that we are far from him, because we can't recognize Him. both of the shabads emphasize this point.

so, what i'm thinking is that sin is to continue on being blind to Reality and stumbling through lives. we've blinded ourselves with the various veils of maya, and until we pull them away and open our eyes to light, we are sinning and living the essence of duality. it's dark, because we've shrouded ourselves away from the Light, although the Light pervades through all.

virtue then, would be to awaken... to open our eyes...

virtue would be to recognize this Truth as put so eloquently by Guru Sahib. not only recognize it, but understand it.

and that's an experience i haven't had yet, unfortunately.

anyways, i'm doing this at about 6 a.m. my time without sleep. i'm hoping i made some sense...

    oh and one more thing...

the concept of sin/virtue seems to be relatively free from a sense of good/bad. i'll try explaining this later on. cuz i'm SO tired!
