  1. Jahan!

I have book in which information is given in Punjabi lanaguage not in english though. Do you want me to scan and post them here? It has good explanation. You just confirm that you can read Punjabi and I will scan those pages and post them under this thread.

Is it Shiromani Committee da 50 sala Ithihaas by Shamsher Singh Ashok?

It's a good resource book, contains details of all the meetings ever held by the SGPC as well as the resolutions during the last 50 years

  2. 1. The only real Akalis are Nihang and wear a farla!

    2. Curious how the jathas that went to liberate Nankana Sahib had been blessed by Akali Baba Sahib Singh Kaladhari, Nihang jathedar of the Akal Takht who has been attacked in a hideous way by the same Neo-Akalis!!!

    3. It's nice to see people with opinions !!! Naunidhi please continue: it's really cute!!!

    can you elaborate?

what you mean akalis attacked some Baba?

It is possible many people on this forum may have had anchestors who took part in this movement or suffered in some way due to the British actions against the Akalis

Aussie Bhanji, one of my friends grandfather took part in the Akali movement!. I know one guy here whose ancestors could never have taken part in the Akali movement.. like your most famous export Rolf Harris says...Can you tell what who it is yet

  3. Gunmen hunted 'infidel' westerners in Saudi say expats

    31.05.2004

    12.15am - UPDATE

KHOBAR, Saudi Arabia - "Are you Muslim or Christian? We don't want to kill Muslims. Show us where the Americans and Westerners live," Islamic militants told an Arab after launching a shooting spree on Westerners in Saudi Arabia.

The four gunmen, aged 18 to 25 and wearing military vests, grabbed Abu Hashem, an Iraqi with a US passport, in front of his home in the Oasis compound in Khobar but let him go when he told them he was a Muslim.

"Don't be afraid. We won't kill Muslims even if you are an American," he quoted them as saying.

The Oasis compound, where suspected al Qaeda militants held about 50 foreigners hostage, was the last target in a rampage that struck oil firms and residential compounds in the oil city of Khobar where at least 17 people were killed on Saturday.

Saudi commandos rescued most of the hostages on Sunday after storming the building where the militants had seized them.

Some of the hostages, mostly Westerners, were taken to hospital and others to hotels but most were too shaken to speak to journalists. There were reports that the gunmen had killed several hostages, but details were unclear.

Some of the foreign residents interviewed said they wanted to leave the oil-rich Gulf state which has waged a year-long campaign against militants loyal to Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda.

Abu Hashem, the director of a Saudi firm who has been in Khobar for six months, said he wanted to move to Bahrain.

He said the four gunmen had been polite and calm.

"They gave me a lecture on Islam and said they were defending their country and ridding it of infidels," he told Reuters at Qusaibi hotel.

"The gunmen were so polite. I cannot comprehend this politeness they showed me because I am a Muslim and this cruelty to others," said Abu Hashem, who declined to give his first name.

He said that while talking to the gunmen he saw the bloodied body of a Swedish cook who worked in the compound. He had been shot dead.

An American, a Briton, an Egyptian, two Filipinos, an Indian, a Pakistani and nine Saudis, mostly security men, were also killed on Saturday, security sources said.

A purported al Qaeda statement claimed responsibility for the attack. The group has repeatedly vowed to rid the Arabian peninsula of "infidels".

Lebanese Abdulsalam Hakawti, a 38-year-old financial director, was at home with his wife and two-year-old son when he heard someone storm through the door of his villa in the Oasis complex. They ran upstairs with one militant in hot pursuit.

"Asalam Alaykum," Hakawati said he told the militant using the traditional Muslim greeting.

"(The gunman) told me 'Our jihad is not against Muslims but against Americans and Westerners' and asked me to show him which villas had Americans and Westerners."

Hakawati, who escaped last year's deadly suicide bombing on a housing compound in the capital Riyadh, said he told the young bearded gunman, dressed in a T-shirt and navy trousers, that he had only been in Khobar for three days.

There have a string of attacks in Saudi Arabia in the past year, including suicide bombings and shootings.

"These militants have robbed us of any feeling of security," said Abu Yasser, a 42-year-old Jordanian whose Oasis villa became a refuge for several terrified neighbours.

"This is home, I have been living in this country for 40 years and I would not leave. The country has changed but I won't leave, all my family is here," he said.

  4. The real problem is that muslims rarely openly admit, that some of their brethren do wrong, like I was told how the CIA did 9-11 or the berg video is a fake. But then you get also those who are actually in favor of such things. Islam got some serious proplems.

Agree with you Bhainji. There was a programme a few days ago in which a Muslim guy said that Muslims could not have done 9/11 because 'over 3000 Muslims died in the attack'! These people get more and more outrageous. One Muslim guy I know said that the Jews had done 9/11 and that they made sure that all Jews working on the towers reported off sick!

Oh dear have I just pre-empted the points that Beast was going to raise..lol

  5. Beast

You are becoming a respository of all the cliches and excuses ever used by apologists of Muslim terrorism. Have you seen an IRA or UDA terrorist holding up the Bible and justifying killing people in the name of the Bible? Has Gerry Adams used verses from the Bible to justify the violence of the IRA? Stop trying to rationalise the killing of innocent people by Muslim terrorists, for one you're not very good at it!

  6. Thanks dymanic banda for your views. I asked the question because I was interested in how the samparday have gone from being traditionally being selective in the way they took students, i mean i know of no non-indian being a nirmala before modern times

This is a personal attack towards Lalleshvari. For that, you deserve your first warning unless you appolize. I ll consult with other moderators and action will be taken.

Why we think this is personal attack ???

Its because there are 3ho sikhs who are " non-jat , non-punjabi, non-indian, non-asian" but they are accepted as sikhs by other sampardha and most importantly "Akaaal Takth"- Supreme Authority of Sikhs!!! .. what makes you think he is viewed as mallesh by other sampardha's when 3ho white sikhs are not!!!!

So he is not individually consider as mallesh unless off course he acts like one!!!!!

You what? I asked lalleshvari a question which only he would be able to answer. check the words i wrote, i said 'traditionally' , i think you need to read up on history, every foreigner was considered a malesh, whether they were arabs, turks, afghans or even the brits

here a definition just for you

    Tra*di"tion*al*ly, adv.

definition: [adv] according to tradition; in a traditional manner; "traditionally, we eat fried foods on Hanukah

any chance you might apologise to me..lol..

  7. Dear Lalleshwari,

I am at a loss to understand this observation. Please shed some more light on this comment.

    Regards

I would also like to see the reason for lalleshvaris comment above.

Lalleshvari as a non-jat , non-punjabi, non-indian, non-asian no offence but aren't you traditionally viewed as a Mallesh by the sampardaiyas?

  8. Well I don't know where this whole JS Mann wave comes from. We all know he's an insecure and incompetent pseudo-scholar and a disgrace to Sikhi! Someone who puts dirt on Dasam bani and disencourages investigation into Sikhi. To be honest with you I do have my problems with McLeod,Jakobsh and other scholars because their methodology is very problematic but JS Mann is no one to give lessons to anyone as he does not have any methodology at all let alone real vidya!!!

Criticise the man's views with solid facts.. if you can.

  9. Up to that point, it was good, but until he got to 45:45 he starts to talk about being in a Budhist Temple and he asked who their god is and the preacher said, you are god, i am god....'Shivo Hum'. He said that was Wrong... his lack of knowledge on the Self-Realization hindered him into understading what the Priest of the Temple had said.

This is a great observation brother. It is impossible for those who come from the rigid background like Islam to understand concepts which mohammed did not write about in the koran

  10. Well last time I remember that Babbarsher said that "Bhai Gurdas is no authority in SIkhi" and he calls himslef a Sikh!!! Please let me laugh: hahahahhahahahhhaaa

    he also wrote:

You are right about ChaupaSIngh rahitnama but then again we are talking about a military context and of Sunni-Mughals in particular. Again your position is totally contradicted by the historical fact that Pir Budhu Shah (a Shia) made an alliance with Guru Gobind Singh.!

Methinks the joke's on you, it was Jamuka who made the comment about Bhai Gurdas and not Babbar Sher. The Admin has already corrected Jamuka about this. It is very sad that you find the need to lay a false accusation against Babbar Sher just to try and make yourself feel better because you have been unable to counter his views. In my view he is giving a Gursikh view whilst you make stuff up as you go along.

I would accept you to make a full apology to Babbar Sher and if not then can the administrators take action against lalleshvari
