    Q1)Why religions talk about mukti?

    Q2)Are they anti-Life?

A1) Why should they not talk?

What is the harm in it?

    They should talk about mukti.

If a religion does not talk about mukti, then, that religion is not a religion but more likely a cult. The term religion comes from the latin word "religare", which means that what reunites us with our origin.

And if you do not want to listen about mukti, then do not listen nor look to their teachings, just keep yourself busy  with other things.

The purpose of a true religion is to bring that awareness in us, that, we are in alien land, which is inert, temporary, and subject dissolution.

Or do you think you are going to live here for ever?

Because such a couple of questions like yours above, makes one think in that direction

If you think so, then sorry to say that, maybe you are voluntarily choosing to indefinetely extend your stay more in the wheel of the otherwise unendable cycle of births and deaths.

The Bani clearly tells us:  KIS NAAL KEEJAY DOSTEE SABH JAG CHALANHAAR.

Prophets, Bhagats, Incarnations, Guru Sahiban, all highly spiritual beings, whenever they came here on earth, had to go back also and respect the laws of Nature without any manipulations.

Ravan, and other devlish beings throughout the history, they tried to manipulate Nature and secure eternal life on this inert, false,  and temporary creation.

What was the result in all those cases? All of them were fierecely blown to death by Nature.

A2) No, they are not antilife.

Because they do not induce anybody to not live their lives with dignity, nor do they tell anybody to suicide, rather they are (if only true religion) the cause of our freedom from falsehood (koor maya), and thus life givers of eternity, because they teach us to take the Amrit of Nam within us, in order to become one with our origin, namely Waheguru Akal Purukh who is the Only eternal Truth, and the fountain of bliss and true happiness.

I will not talk of other religions, about what they have to offer or not to the soul ...

But I will only talk from the perspective of Sikhee, which I find the most rational, and universal teachings.

Not limited to any  particular land, country, continent, race or gender... rather it is a universal and a practical path of utmost love and devotion for our creator Waheguru Akal Purukh.

Please, do go a bit through the Bani, in any Ang, where only what you will find is that, Guru Sahiban tell us, that, do not remain in the false illusion, created by your limited mind, which is the cause of all your pain and anguish, rather come out of that realm of falsehood which is subject to decay and dissolution, and by strongly holding on Naam alone, step into the realm of Truth and eternity, which is Sach Khand, the realm of SAT NAM, AKAL PURUKH.

    God bless you.

Just a few questions, you said

Q1)Why is it a must to have a Guru?

Q2)Can you not do bhagti without following a religion?

A1) It is utmost important to have a Guru, for  True Guru is not the body,  but the Jot of Waheguru Himself, and this Guru is known as Shabad Guru.

When you close your eyes, do you not see darkness? Then in such darkness how can one even move an inch forward within?

There is where the Guru is needed, for with His akhoot Jot, He gives the Light and brings clarity to the soul, in its all way back till the soul reaches in the lap of our heavenly Father  Akal Purukh.

A2) The question does not arise of following or not a religion, the question is about following that what is correct and acceptable in His eyes, not manmat of people.

Again, it is here that the valuable role of a true Guru is seen, for it is only the Guru as seen in Gurbani who reconects us with our origin Waheguru Akal Purukh, through Nam.

And the proof of what I am saying is seen the following 2 verses

    ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ਸਚੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ॥

Guramathee Aap Gavaae Sach Pashhaaniaa ||

Through the Guru's Teachings, selfishness and conceit are eradicated, and the Truth is realized.

Sachaa Sabadh Veechaar Sach Samaaniaa ||

Meditating deeply on the True Word of the Shabad, I have merged into the Truth.

By the way Vah Jee, can you tell me where and in which other dharmas, Guru Jee, and Nam Bhakti is advised, in order to cut our bonds from this mayavee creation and merge in Him for once and ever.

That is why  Guru and Guru bhakti(Gurmat) is required for any soul who really wants to go back to Him.

One may do bhakti all the 24/7, but as per Bani, if one has not meditated on Nam, one has done nothing, and shall go empty handed from this world, for Nam is the only eternal Truth.

The beauty of Gurmat is that, it reveals us the highest spiritual truths, in simple and practical ways for any ordinary being, for the sole purpose of achieveing the Highest soul consciousness abode, named Sach Khand.

     IKongkar- THERE IS ONLY GOD-

    Totally agree.

The prefix syllable Ik, in both the terms refers to the only One, and the only One, true Lord God Creator is Waheguru Akal Purukh.

Following is an clarifying and inspiring article by Sukhmandir Kaur, which I found on the net and would like to share with the Sangat.

    Ik Onkar - One God

Ik Onkar is a symbol which appears at the beginning the Sikh scripture and means, "One With Everything". The symbol is written in the Gurmukhi script and has several components. Some references are also spelled out in scripture as to Ek Ankar.

    • Ik (or Ek) stands for the Gurmukhi numeral "One".
    • On is a combination or O and An stands for "Everything".
    • Kar is inferred and stands for "Creator".
The symbol Ik Onkar communicates the idea of one one creative being, or one God, manifest in all of existence. The creator and creation are one entity, inseparable in the way an ocean is made up of its individual drops, or a tree is composed of its individual components, roots, trunk, bark, branches, leaves, sap and seeds, (cones, fruits, or nuts).

Pronunciation: Ik (i as in lick) (alternately Ek, or aek sounding like the a in lake) O un kaar (aa sounds like the a in car)

Alternate Spellings: Ik Oankar, Ik Oankaar, Ek Onkar, Ek Ankar

    Examples
    • "Sabh meh jaano karataa ek ||In all do I recognize that the One Creator is present." SGGS||377
    • "Safal janam hoaa mil saadhoo ekankaar dhiaaae raam ||Fruitful becomes the life upon meeting with the Saints, and contemplating the One Creator Lord." SGGS||782
    • "Tiseh bhoojh jin too keeaa prabh karann kaaran ek||1|| rahaao||Realize thou that He who created thee is the One God whom is the cause of all causes." Pause. SGGS||1007
    • "Eko karataa avar na koe ||There is only One, the Creator, there is no other at all." SGGS||1174
    • "Khaalik khalak khalak meh khaalik poor rehiou srab taanee ||1|| rehaao||
The Creation is in the Creator, and the Creator is in the Creation, totally pervading and permeating all places. ||1||Pause|| SGGS||1349

Found the following interesting article on the Net which I thought of sharing with the Sangat here

Generally, I don’t discuss this, as most people wouldn’t understand or believe what I say, or they might try to label me as imbalanced or mentally ill (their issue). But, since you asked…

I will tell you the simplest, most basic experience that I have almost every time that I meditate.

Kundalini awakened spontaneously in me 2.5 years ago. For the first year I really couldn’t meditate at all because it was too activating. There was so much energy moving in my body that I had to dance or do yoga in order to get some relief.

Kundalini has since calmed. It is a kinder and gentler experience now, generally not overwhelming (except at times.)

Now when I meditate, in that moment when my mind is first quiet, when I drop into awareness/total presence, I feel (and see) a horizontal expansiveness, a oneness with all there is, a tapping into a collective consciousness. And it always makes me laugh! It’s like the cosmic joke is that I believed for a time (yet again) that I was separate. So when I tap back into the oneness I realize that I was fooled again!

I see this as the never ending 3D to 5D toggle. And I guess I can’t stay in 5D because I have a body. So back and forth I go, and thank goodness, with a laugh. 😂

I don’t know if this is helpful in any way, but this is what I experience 🙏🏼♥️

All practices, that aim in one way or the other, at changing the state of consciousness of one’s being, must eventually be left behind for the natural state of awareness to be recognized.

Contrary to popular belief, enlightenment is not an altered state of consciousness. It is the natural state.

But since most people that start the spiritual journey are still in ego consciousness, they naturally feel that enlightenment must be a continuous state of bliss in consciousness. That is natural, I had the same thinking at first.

That includes the awakening of chakras. It can and must be used along the journey.

But at some point when you arrive in your natural state, these practices will create dreaming instead of helping you become dream-less.

That is because consciousness itself is changing, you cannot except it to be manipulated through an experience. Even the most beautiful God experiences! :)

Instead, find in yourself that which is unchanging.

Could anyone please share their thoughts on why Sikh Gurus did NOT write the katha/vikhaya of Guru Granth Sahib Ji? It would have saved the panth ALL the debates revolving around the meanings of Guru Sahib? After-all Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is the teasure and what's the use of treasure without the key (meanings)?

Perhaps Bro, because  Sree Guru Granth Sahib by itself is the katha /vikhaya of Waheguru Akal Purukh Himself, which is the most beautiful and complete act by itself..

And, who says, the treasure in IT has no meanings?

Everything is there in SGGS, it is only that we do not pay attention to what is said.

It is like we are more busy in looking a prescription all the time, rather than after reading and looking at the prescription to intake the medicine in the box,

By seeing  that others are also doing that,  we tend to think that, that is fine enough to recover back our health, but tragically our end reaches us, thus then we have no time to take the medicine, and we go away sick.

Nobody has ever got cured by just reading a prescription, nor will anyone ever.

For the curing power is in the medicine only.

The medicine is the remedy for the sickness, no medicine, no cure, but for sure more pain and discomfort.
