:bling: Just Push -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A man was sleeping at night in his cabin when suddenly his room filled with light, and God appeared. The Lord told the man he had work for him to do, and showed him a large rock in front of his cabin. The Lord explained that the man was to push against the rock with all his might. So, this the man did, day after day. For many years he toiled from sun up to sun down; his shoulders set squarely against the cold, massive surface of the unmoving rock, pushing with all of his might. Each night the man returned to his cabin sore and worn out, feeling that his whole day had been spent in vain. Since the man was showing discouragement, the Adversary (Satan) decided to enter the picture by placing thoughts into the weary mind: "you have been pushing against that rock for a long time, and it hasn't moved." Thus, giving the man the impression that the task was impossible and the he was a failure. These thoughts discouraged and disheartened the man. "Why kill myself over this?" he thought. "I'll just put in my time, giving just the minimum effort; and that will be good enough." And that is what he planned to do, until one day he decided to make it a matter of prayer and take his troubled thoughts to the Lord. "Lord," he said, "I have labored long and hard in your service, putting all my strength to do that which you have asked. Yet, after all this time, I have not even budged that rock by half a millimeter. What is wrong? Why am I failing?" The Lord responded compassionately, "My friend, when I asked you to serve Me and you accepted, I told you that your task was to push against the rock with all of your strength, which you have done. Never once did I mention to you that I expected you to move it. Your task was to push. And now you come to Me with your strength spent, thinking that you have failed. But, is that really so? Look at yourself. Your arms are strong and muscled, your back sinewy and brown, your hands are callused from constant pressure, your legs have become massive and hard. Through opposition you have grown much, and your abilities now surpass that which you used to have. Yet you haven't moved the rock. But your calling was to be obedient and to push and to exercise your faith and trust in My wisdom. This you have done. Now I, My friend, will now move the rock." At times, when we hear a word from God, we tend to use our own intellect to decipher what He wants, when actually what God wants is just a simple obedience and faith in Him. By all means, exercise the faith that moves mountains, but know that it is still God who moves mountains. When everything seems to go wrong ... just P.U.S.H.! When the job gets you down ... just P.U.S.H.! When people don't react the way you think they should... just P.U.S.H.! When your money looks "gone" and the bills are due...just P.U.S.H! When people just don't understand you ... just P.U.S.H.! P.U.S.H. = Pray Until Something Happens (:bling:)

There once was a young student who went everyday to visit a wise and spiritually blessed old man. Each day after school the boy would visit and listen to the old man narrate the Guru teachings and in turn he would help the old man with chores. The old man would always be very happy to see the boy. However one day the boy came to the old man's home as he did everyday. Upon entering the old man summoned him to his side at once. The old man had a grave look on his face. After sitting the boy down he started "Dear boy tommorrow you will die and visit me no longer, you will not see the sun rise, not hug your parents and siblings, not eat a morsel of food as this is your final day on earth." The boy began to weep loudly. "Why are you crying?" the old man said, "I told you, that you have the rest of the day to live, why don't I start our daily lesson?" "Baba Ji, leave me be" cried the boy. "Let me say my final farewell to my family and friends, please." "Very well" said the old man, "but remember you have little time left." The boy raced home and told his familiy and friends the wise mans phrophecy. Everyone wept and embraced him. After he could shed no more tears, he went to his bed room and began to watch the clock. "Only 6 hrs left to die," he thought to him self. Then only 3 hours left, then 5 minutes left and the old man came inside his room. "Let us talk," said the old man. "You want to waste time talking"? said the boy "I am going to die soon!" "God can make anything can happen in a second and you have 5 minutes left so lets talk," said the old man. "Ohh Baba leave me alone and let me die in peace. I am in soo much regret of my past deeds!" cried the boy. "Very well,but answer one question and then i'll leave you alone," said the old man. The boy agreed. "In this day did you slander anyone's name, speak unpleasantly to anyone, harm someone, lie, or committ any sin?" said the old man. "No all i thought about was dying" said the boy. "How can I do anything else?" "That is the lesson I was trying to teach you" said the old man. The way you have not done anything wrong in the last 24 hours is the same way i have done nothing wrong in the last 46 years!" Moral: the human body is a time bomb waiting to go off, we should jaap Naam as much as we can and not waste our golden chance of human birth in sins and maya!

Bhai Mota and the $1 Million lottery. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There once lived a man whose name was Bhai Mota. As his name implies, he was quite mota. His doctor had warned Bhai Mota's wife that Bhai Mota was a heart patient and all upsetting news - good or bad - could lead to Bhai Mota's heart attack and therefore should be kept from him. As it turned out, Bhai Mota was very lucky, in that he won a million-dollar lottery. The lottery company called Bhai Mota's home; luckily his wife picked up the phone. She, naturally, was very excited. However, she was very worried that this news would overwhelm her man and possibly cause a problem to his weak heart. So she decided to consult the family sant - who was none other than Puran Giani Dhiani Sant Mota Daas jee. Sant Mota Daas jee listened to her and told her not to worry and that she should send Bhai Mota to him. "What is maya but a fleeting cloud?" he added. Greatly thankful, she sent her husband to the Sant. Sant Mota Daas jee talked to Bhai Mota for about an hour on the transistory nature of maya. "We are not going to take anything with us in the beyond-world," he stressed. Finally, when the man was sufficiently updeshed-out, Sant Mota Daas jee casually said, "What would you do if you were told that you won a million dollars?" Bhai Mota thought for a while before replying: "I am not sure. But one thing I know, I will give 10% of it to the greatest spiritual person I know - and that, my respected sir, would be you." Sant Mota Daas jee had a heart attack!!!

Merciful Guru! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Guru ji you give me a sense of security. When I feel trapped and so lonely. When I feel I have no one to turn to. Seems like you always come through. Bless me with you true vision. So I can see your glowing face in Contemplation. Have mercy and fulfil my hearts needs. Do Kirpa so I can awaken from this deep sleep. You are my guide to live a good life. You are my soul you have the control. You are my heart so we are never apart. You are my mind for the rest of my life. I sleep thinking about you. I eat thinking about you. I cry with joy thinking about you. And I will die thinking about you. Please be merciful and forgive me for my actions. I realise I have to fight these daily temptations. Unlock me from this bond of desire for Maya. Q. What is Waheguru ? Ans. This greatest question in the mind of man will remain ever unanswered because we can only know Waheguru but we cannot tell what He is. In Gurbani, there is a simple example to explain why no one can answer this question. A mute person, after tasting sugar, knows the taste, enjoys it and expresses it through a smile. But being unable to speak, he cannot tell a word about what sugar is like. Waheguru is love, hence immensely sweet, many times more sweet than anything in this world. Holy persons love Waheguru; they enjoy its sweetness but cannot say anything by which we can know and understand Waheguru. There is no language and nothing available in this world which can be quoted to describe Waheguru. Therefore, only smiles, howsoever incomplete or unrepresentative they may be, have been mentioned by holy persons. That is the best they can do to tell their mystic experiences of the spiritual world to those living in this mundane world. Q. If everything is in Waheguru’s hands then why does Waheguru not stop us? Ans. Waheguru does stop us from doing bad things. He has his own ways; we have to understand them. Imagine that while jumping you sprain your ankle. It gets swollen and it gives you much pain. That is Waheguru’s way to force rest on us. When you get sick, you become weak and do not wish to move about; rather one feels like remaining on bed. That is what Waheguru wants you to do to get into good health. The same principle works on a larger scale too. If a king is inefficient or unjust, the people replace him. May be a neighbour King will attack him, defeat him and take over his kingdom for better management. Sometimes we do not know the greater plan of Waheguru and we may not be clear about the part assigned to us. We are supposed to perform our duty with the competency given to us. The world is a huge drama conducted and directed by Waheguru. In a drama, an actor is required to act according to the will of the director, and not according to his own likings. In this world, the director, Waheguru, has assigned all kinds of duties to different people. Waheguru may make them rich, poor, a scholar, common street man, handsome or handicapped. But these should not matter while we do the duty assigned to us. Wherever we are placed, we should do our duty honestly, sincerely and devotedly, neither being jealous of others nor suffering from any ego. Q. Even if there is a God, why should people worship him? A. We do not bribe or oblige God, when we worship him. If one is swimming in a pool, he does not oblige the water or the pool, he is enjoying himself. To worship God is to revel in His virtues and to be benefited by them. We do not worship God to benefit Him. He does not need anything from us, not even His worship. We do it for our own benefit. The sun does not benefit if we sit in the sun and enjoy its warmth. When we worship God, we sit in the sun of His virtues to benefit from them and not to please Him. Waheguru is a great Teacher. We receive many things from Him, even our body is a gift of Waheguru to us. When we offer money or we bow our head to the Guru Granth Sahib describing the virtues of Waheguru to us, we do not oblige Waheguru, we express our gratitude and thanks to him. It is wrong to think that we can give anything to Waheguru. We are always receiving unlimited favours from Him. Worship of Waheguru means to love Waheguru, to love His virtues and to love truth. The purpose is that these good qualities and virtues become a part of our life. These virtues will keep us happy and blessed with favours of Waheguru. Q. God has no shape, form or body and is never born and He never dies. If nobody can describe God, how could the Gurus do that? A. The Gurus have told us about the greatness and the limitlessness of Waheguru. The Gurus have written hymns describing the virtues of Waheguru but it does not mean that they described the limits of Waheguru or His virtues. They taught us how to sing His praises and how to benefit from them. They showed us the path to Waheguru. It does not mean that they have presented Waheguru in totality to us. One can feel Him, enjoy Him, but cannot limit Him in words.

sat shri akal ji u r right as after having amrit paan i am bold and confident as i also heard in my childhood living a life is a falsehood and dieing a death is truth which our guru sahib ji wants to remind us everytime that after death when dharam rai ji will ask us what have u done in your whole span of life we will be unanswerable as we never had his sangat and yaa i remember one katha been told by one sant mahatma ji i dont remember his name but i remember his teaching it was when we r born before that we are in our mother stomach and hanging upside down there with very bad surroundings i should say thats the real hell as guru ji describes because we never know about the next pal we will be alive or dead and at that time we pray and promise lord waheguru ji that please save and protect me let me see the outside world by my own eyes and he grants us this precious life of human being only at one condition that we promised him that we will never forget his naaam and will always praise his words untill we die but as soon as we come into being we just forget him and thats it start doing all sins and just abide our guru ji thats the reason when the baby is born he should have amrit paan and should be shown the true path of lord waheguru ji as there after it will be too late to handle the sitution acc to me aas been told by guru ji i like to listen katha and try to follow it to its extent and that was the day i get inspired of having amriot paan My father was really upset from my decision but Jo Tudh Bhave Soi Thisi and i am proud of my lord waheguru ji that he gave me strenght to face the situation at that very moment thats all for now waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh arti_kaur
