  1. Yeah, I will try to learn and show them the way. In the meantime, If I catch them again, I may have to have words with them... p.s. they are from Bombay!
  2. ERm.... did you read any of what i said? Stick to the topic people!!!
  3. Sorry but I think we are going slightly off the topic here.... So, going back to my original point.... The reasons behind the murders are over? I dont think so. The fact is that innocent people were killed in Amritsar in 1947, especially by general Dwyer. This was on Viasakhi too! And all they were doing is a peaceful protest. This is where women and children were present! Howver, come Vaisakhi time, or around April or even August 15th, how times are these sacrifices are remembered? I would have thought at least the British government would remember this? But not a lot of people know... i dont think many sikhs know about this. Another point, sihks in the world war, what a sacrifice, Especially with November 11th coming up, this should be remembered and made aware. Not just sikhs for that matter, but the millions who died fighting for truth and against evil. What a sacrifice! Please do not forget these people and shaeeds who have died.
  4. Yeah, true. I think there is still a lot of research to be done regarding dreams. After all, scientists are still trying to work out how the brain functions physically, let alone mentally. Big area i reckon. Does it mention anywhere in the Guru Granth Sahib about dreams? Or any analogies that may have been possibly used maybe?
  5. I reckon they do have significance. Everythng that happens in life and everything in our body or part of our body has some significance and has a role to play so you cant just dismiss it. I guess this means my time is nearly up here....
  6. The website address in front of the subtitles is annoyingggggg!!!!
  7. With the recent articles and emails going around about 1984, i was just thinking back to other significant dates in the history of sikhi and it seems to me that a lot of people have forgotten about what happenend in 1947...
  8. the same thing happened to me! I went to the gurdwara on the weekend and they were doing a shabad to the tune of 'Dil Diwane' from the film Daag! It was wierd! They played the tune note for note! I couldnt sit there and listen to it so i left. These kirtani's have also done other bollywood tunes and they do this in the main program! What shall i do?
  9. Sat Sri Akal Jee, Jsut wanted to know or find out, if you dream you are dying or about to die or had a near-death experience.... in ur dreams.... do you reckon this means anything? Does it mean your time is up? Is there any significance in this? If there any psycological experts out there who would care to enlighten me, that would be great thanks. p.s. dont worry if its bad news, i can take it, i hope! Thanks
  10. Sat Sri Akal Jee, I just wanted to find out if it is right/ok to do sing shabads to Bollywood/Filmi tunes? Thanks.
  11. Yeah, thats true... clubs have that kind of reputation. But the thing is, clubs are only open at night... i.e. from 10 - 2am.... and as sikh (who is meant to get up early) its going against sikhi really. Cuz even if you get up at 6am... you are only getting 4 hours sleep which is dangerous and not good for your body... try doing this for 3 days on the run and you'l know what I mean. So if you wanna listen to music and do the bhangra then just have a party in the day or join a Bhangra group where you can exercise as well!
  12. tsingh jee, Not really... I feel that I have a valid point which needs to be addressed to open up peoples eyes.
  13. Clubbing is kinda dodgy... Not really for Sikhs. So smokey in there plus its late at night so if you did go... how would you wake up for amrit vela? By the time you get home and go sleep... it is amrit vela!
  14. Sat Sri Akal Jee, I totally agree with your first two posts N3o SINGH. Every point you made there is soo true... including, the point about admitting wrong, Criticism of others Seeing God in others (I think most Sikhs only see God in other sikhs and do not see non-sikhs having the capability of being one with God) THe point about the hunger crisis is soo true.... there is soo much that needs to be done.
  15. It wasn't a game... I was making a point... note the difference. (Was Guru Nanak Dev Jee playing a game when he started throwing water in the opposite direction of the sun?)
  16. Thinkingone, What are u on about?
  17. tsingh, I wouldnt really say the Guru is a Sant, the Guru's were higher than that. Thefore, it is really not a contridiction. And, i'm sure the Guru's in no way proclaimed to be the King because they were humble. Also I never said Sants dont do seva (refering to 'Your assumption that Sants do not do seva is also historically unfounded.') THinkingone....The Guru Jee talks about Sants all throughout the Guru Granth Sahib. We havent got the judgment to say someone is a Sant. So dont call anyone a Sant. There are Sants out there, but how do we know who what they have done or are doing... what they are thinking... what their intentions are.... only One Supreme Being knows that... and that is Raab.
  18. T Singh, What I am trying to say is that why is someone called a Sant and others not? I have not created a contridiction, you have made this contridiction yourself. I'm guessing your probably upset because I belive that Jarnail was not a Sant... i bet many people on here would be. But i'm simply stating what I belive is the truth. How is someone is called a Sant any more holy than the person who gives up his/her time to go and feed the homeless who to help out at the old peoples home? Sikhi is about action as well as meditation and remembering good. No point staying at home all day and doing your paatth if your not going to go out there to help people is there? To our point about pictures and so on... fair enough, if they give you inspiration. But then don't go around saying you cannot have pictures of Footy players, Maradona, etc or singers, Christina Aguilera on your wall because to some people, they may also be their inspiration. There is the danger of 'Sants' being more recognised and talked about than the Guru's therefore your main focal point should the Guru's and their teachings for humanity.
  19. Mehtab, this exactly what I am on about. Jarnail Singh was doing seva of sikhi just as any other and every other sikh in the world is doing. If he didnt want to be called a Sant then why are you calling him a Sant. What about countless other sikhs who are doing seva? You could even say everyone is Sant... but we dont. Cuz we are trying to follow the footsteps of the Guru's Remember, concntrate on the Guru's and the Guru's teachings.
  20. I dont think anyone should be called a Sant. It is disprectful to the sants in the Guru's time and I dont think we are in a position to judge a person and decide if they are a sant or not. Alot of these 'sants' or 'baba's' just do kirtan for one thing... the money. Sad to see really. See how people rush to the gurdwara when some 'Sant' is meant to be coming and doing a program.. but when some kids are doing kirtan (where they with a pure heart and FROM the heart) u hardly see anyone. People actually start to talk about the 'Sant' more than the gurbani or the guru's!! Some people even have posters of these 'Sants' on their walls and there more stuff being handed out of these 'Sant' (one comes to mind on particualr but dont wanna say cuz it will diverge off the topic). I feel the roof is being built before the ground floor has even been built... Quite worrying... Main focal point should be God and the Guru's from Guru Nanak Dev Jee to the present Guru, Guru Granth Sahib Jee. Doesnt matter which religion you are from too. Equality amongst relgions should also be promoted. Very important point that Guru Nanak Dev Jee enforced. Treat Christians, jews, Hindus, Muslims just like you would to a sikh. Make no discrimination. Make no discrimination agaisnt people who cut their hair or dress differently to you... they are on their own path which leads to the same destiantion as urs. God Bless
  21. Sat Sri Akal Jee, Just wondering, have you edited the post yet? Because I am eagerly awaiting the post. Thanks
  22. What do mean a group/jatha? You telling me there is more of these people???
  23. i was acutally referring to some people who are called 'sants, baba's etc' and have a really long name. I belive that they should not be any different from you and me and should not be treated differently. For example, Last week when I was at the gurdwara, a sikh who had 'Sant' before his name and was called a 'Sant/Baba' came to do kirtan.... fair enough... but as he was walking into the darbar sahib, people around the doors actaully started bowing down to him... with their hands folded!! Crazy! Sants are good obviously but my point is Sants/babas arent necessarily in white kurta's and wear white paags. They can be your teacher, your neighbour or even a random person on the street.
  24. Not Khalistan.... cuz thats not important. God will bless us with peace and mukhti!
  25. Yes I do... is that important?
