  1. its cleans the five nasha from your past, gives you a clean slate, im sure Neo can enlighten you on that

it depends what you do with Amrit, what you actually make of it, for some it means nothing for some it means everything

maybe makes you a better person, its depends on your intentions when you take Amrit.

im sure it makes you a more commited Sikh, becoz you have showed you have surrendered yourself to your Guru, this is done by taking Amrit

    Apna seez dai nah........Surrender Yourself

I thought Guru Ji said that no one can erase past deeds? I think taking Amrit from the 5 Beloved, is like a marriage with you and the Lord, in other words, Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh - The Khalsa Belongs to God, God is always Victorious. But also another extreme is when a Khalsa becomes astray i.e. acted on the nasha of Maya.

P.S. I havnet taken Amrit yet. Best thing is to Naam Jap, you'll feel Amrit Naam and feel intoxicated by the Naam and enjoy.

This Shabad is by Guru Nanak Dev Ji in Raag Soohee on Pannaa 763

I have not known the value of virtue; I have been deluded by doubt. I have wasted away my youth in vain.

After consulting the True Guru, I have not walked on the Path; the night of my life is passing away in sleep.

O Nanak, the peace of the Mansion of God's Presence comes through the True Word of the Shabad; the bride keeps the Guru's Feet enshrined in her mind. ||3||

I am delighted to see my Husband Lord near at hand; in His Home, I am so beautiful.

By good destiny I met Him, and was given a place of rest; through the Guru's Wisdom, I have become virtuous.

  2. Well I went to London Sikhi Week. There was a discussion about death and how death is so misunderstood. There was a Singh forgottern his name  and he made soo many references to Guru Granth Sahib and the whole thing about reincarnation and how it also relates to Science, It made sences too. He said if your attached to maya when you die, its like something is ripped out of you. I was thinking ego at this point. He got this from a Buddhist book again forgottern the name  .

He even went to see you new Buddha. This singh wanted to see the new Buddha but the Buddhist stopped him. Then one of the Buddhist said to him, "Are you are follower of Nanak?". He replys, "Yes". And then said to come right in :D . Then when he went to see the new buddha, When he stepped into the jungle he described it as putting his foot in water when there was no water around!

  3. Wife 'thrilled' at Kember release

    Extracts

The wife of Norman Kember has said she is "thrilled" that the Briton and two Canadian peace activists held hostage in Iraq have been freed.

Pat Kember said: "He was very, very pleased to be free, but he was very emotional in talking to me."

[glow=red:f88282b607]Mr Kember, 74, of north-west London, James Loney, 41, and Harmeet Singh Sooden, 32, were three of four men seized in Baghdad in November[/glow:f88282b607].

The body of their US colleague Tom Fox, 54, was found in Baghdad on 9 March.

The three men are believed to have been rescued at 0800 local time (0500 GMT), following a week-long operation led by British troops and involving US and Canadian special forces.

  5. You know what, ive been doing some more thinking about this quote.

On the day of Vaisakhi the Khalsa Panth was born. Guru Ji called all Sikhs to Keshgarh Sahib and told all Sikhs to come with their Hair uncut. A Beautiful tent was set up. All Sikhs were waiting for Guru Gobind Singh Ji to come out. Finally Guru Ji came out, his eyes were shining like fire, his face was glowing with a celestral bliss, his naked sword was glittering in his uplifed right hand and his body was looking like that of a great warrior, who had just rushed into the battle field.

In stead of sitting on the throne, brandishing his sword high in the air, he said with a thundering voice, "This goddess, Bhaguti is always hungry for the heads, today she wants the heads of my dear Sikhs. Is there any one among my Sikhs who is ready to lay down his life at a call from me?"

On hearing this call from their Guru, a dead silence prevailed all over the Darbar. None dared to face the Guru, all were seeing towards each other, err the Guru might not read their faces.

The Guru called forth again, but there was no response. then the voice of Guru, grew more terrible and he angrily asked asked for the third time.

At last a Sikh rose up and said, "O true lord! My head is always at your service, pardon me true Guru, I have wavered a bit. I would be very happy if this my worthless head could taste the eternal bliss of your Bhagauti." The name of this Sikh was Bhai Daya Ram, a resident of Lahore.

A Sikh could be seen from a crowd of millions. Guru Gobind Singh Ji made the Sikhs be seen from a crowd of millions, this is Sikhi Roop for me. This is my interpretation.

In case you didnt understand, Bhai Daya Ram was the first of the Guru's Sikh to been seen from a crowd of millions, not really because of the way he looked but because he stood up.

Im sorry if my interpretation upsetted anyone.

  6. I was having a though the other day. During Muhammed Sahib time, Muhammed had Holy wars with idol worshippers, with people who believed that they had a different God, with people who had more than One God.

And today its like there fighting by saying there Religion is a final message from God. Today we believe in One God which is the same for all.

But when would this War End?

Then I started thinking about what its ganna be like when its all over, the Wars I mean. How peaceful it'll be, no more Holy War!

  7. Do we believe in kali yuga the same way hindus believe it (started when krishna was born and will last 430,000 years), i know that we do not base it on the stars in the sky etc. Are we in kali yuga? According to the Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji, we are in kali yuga. for example:

Those who act like tyrants are accepted and approved - recognize that this is the sign of the Dark Age of Kali Yuga. ||1||Pause||

-president bush can be interpreted as a tyrant (injust war in iraq etc), and is obviously accepted and looked up to in western civilisation.

If someone practices Truth, he is frustrated; prosperity does not come to the home of the sincere. If someone chants the Lord’s Name, he is scorned. These are the signs of Kali Yuga. ||3|

    - The birth and disease of atheism, bible-bashing, koran-bashing etc are spreading uncontrrollably like wildfire. Anyone who believes in god is seen as a fundamentalist etc, even in our kaum.

The trouble-maker is called a leader, and the liar is seated with honor. O Nanak, the Gurmukhs know that this is justice in the Dark Age of Kali Yuga. ||1||

-Again president bush in the west, and islamic extremists in the east. both are equally wrong and fighting for an injust cause, and people like bin laden, abu hamza, al-zaqarwi(sp?) are seen as leaders.

The Dark Age of Kali Yuga is the knife, and the kings are butchers; righteousness has sprouted wings and flown away. In this dark night of falsehood, the moon of Truth is not visible anywhere. I have searched in vain, and I am so confused; in this darkness, I cannot find the path. In egotism, they cry out in pain. Says Nanak, how will they be saved? ||1||

-The world is becoming diseased with evil, its on the rise, and i cant see it stopping. this era must be the darkest the world has ever seen. Blatent disregard for life, waging of war in the name of god were innocent people are losing their lives and are afraid. how will we be saved?

I think Kuljug is a state on mind, the person who is effect by Kuljug is a person who is practicing Falsahood.
