On that note. I feel the meaning of Gurbani is being changed because the truer meanings of the words have been lost to the mainstream Sikhs. No mainstream sikh knows Sanskrit, let alone the other languages written by Guru Ji in Adh Guru Granth Sahib. I know Nirmalay Sikhs know a lot about Gurmuki. But are there other sampardaya's that teach the true meanings of a word from the original language it came from?

Yeah that was him. That talk was about 2 years ago I think? As for the word Simran now I feel his interpretation is wrong. If he knew Sanskrit im sure he wouldnt have that interpretation.

where we have no control over the code of conduct in the parks boundaries. Where ever Guru Ji is present on thakt the atmosphere of the boundaries should be the same as a Gurdwara. The same behaviour and activities should be going on as a Gurdwara. Does this happen in the Handsworth Mela?

Today I feel that the problem is that Guru Jis bani is boxed in four walls, seva is only to be done inside the gurdwaray, and only done for gurdwaray.

And I keep seeing new acronyms used that some how relate to Sikhism, for example S.I.K.H.

You know what, this Gurdwara is in Southall not Coventry (I know the link says Coventry), I've been to this gurdwara before, in the Darbar Sahib near sachkand they got a big picture of Guru Nanak at the end.

i dont know how authentic it is.. but I did hear from two people in India that Guru Gobind Singh ji was about that height 5 feet 4. Now HEIGHT DOESNT MATTER. if u do a lil research u will find it.

Yes of course height doesn't matter, if you learn Shastar Vidiya, you will learn to take a person taller than you.

Guru HarGobind Singh ji was said to be 7 feet tall ...this doesnt mean that Guru Gobind Singh ji had to be the same or more height. .. as the Guru is free from the effects of genetics, which we are not.

Ok lets take this into account then. Of course Guru Gobind Singh Ji is sargun form of Almighty Guru. You add that Guru Ji is "free from genetics". If Guru Ji's Singhs are not free from genetics how are they going fight for Justice? If there was no Protein shakes during the time of Guru Har Gobind, how would Singhs develop Physical Strength?

To me I dont think he knows how Guru Ji looks like, like anyone here. If you hear another version of a story would you change your perception? What I'm trying to say is do more research.

The audio recording also say Guru Gobind Singh ji was 5.4 foot tall, when Guru Hargobind Ji was over 6 foot tall. If Guru Hargobind Ji was his great Grand Father then how did Guru Gobind Singh ji come to be 5.4 feet tall?

I feel Yogi Bhajan said he was Vegetarian because Yogi Bhajan favoured the Vegetarian life style.

His Khalsa, like him was to fight against all forms of religious bigotry and political tyranny. In Sarbloh Guru Durbar, Akali Nihang Guru Gobind Singh speaks of the ten virtues to be adopted by the Akali Nihang Singh Khalsa warrior and ten vices to be abandoned.

Ten Guna (Virtues) of Akali Nihang Singh Khalsa:

1. Compassion

2. Charity

3. Forgiveness

4. Cleanliness

5. Control of mind

6. Purity

7. Appreciation of truth

8. Spiritually accomplished being

9. Warrior

10. Devotee of God and none other

Ten Oguna (Vices) that the Akali Nihang Singh Khalsa must avoid:

1. Mentality against contemplation and meditation

2. Indiscriminate violence

3. False pride

4. Laziness

5. Miserliness

6. Heartlessness

7. Stupidity

8. Wearing dirty clothes

9. Impurity

10. Evil heart.

The Akali Nihang Singh Khalsa was to be a spiritual warrior of Akal (immortal God). Bhai Nand Lal Goya, the personal scribe of Guru Gobind Singh, defined the Khalsa thus:

‘Khalsa is he who forsakes slander.

Khalsa is he who fights at the vanguard.

Khalsa is he who slays the five [ie. controls lust, wrath, greed, false attachment and ego].

Khalsa is he who burns [destroys] superstition.

Khalsa is he who forsakes [overcomes the trappings of] ego.

Khalsa is he who runs from another’s woman [abstains from adultery].

Khalsa is he who does not look at another’s woman.

Khalsa is he who is absorbed in God’s name.

Khalsa is he who obeys the Guru’s word.

Khalsa is he who takes the weapon blows on his face [meaning fights at the vanguard].

Khalsa is he who nurtures the poor.

Khalsa is he who destroys evil beings.

Khalsa is he who contemplates God’s name.

Khalsa is he who attacks the Malesh [meaning 'the filthy', ie. Moghal armies of Aurangzeb].

Khalsa is he who attaches others to Nirankar God's name.

Khalsa is he who breaks all restraints [of caste, superstition, ignorance, etc.].

Khalsa is he who rides the war horse.

Khalsa is he who wages war [both the external and internal war against his own mind].

Khalsa is he who bears weapons.

Khalsa is he who kills the evil one.’

You can also ask yourself something, does one become Khalsa just by drinking Amrit? Or does the definition of a Khalsa which Guru Ji gave go deeper?

I agree totally to that. Being a Sikh is a stepping stone to being a Khalsa. Once your a Khalsa, its becomes your Jaat. But first before you become khalsa, you need a Guru, hence the need to be a Sikh before.

i was just wondering, we know that keeping caste label is not good for your spirituality. What about the religious labels? When we say i am a Sikh, Hindu, Christan or Muslim. Isn't that so sort of caste/religious label? When Akal Moorat Guru Nanak Dev Ji said, "There is no muslim, there is no Hindu". Than how did we end up with the label Sikh?

Being a Sikh isn't a Jaat or caste. You become a Sikh because you bow down to your Guru. And there Sikhs out there who are "Proud to be a Sikh", thinking that being a Sikh is a Jaat, with that in mind having false pride for your Jaat is not good. I feel they live off there ancestors Glory, "living off the fat of the land" but I feel they dont amount to their ancestors Glory. I'm not saying don't be proud just dont have false pride.

You cant be a Sikh if you dont have a Guru. If being Sikh is a jaat thing, then your jaat is your Guru.
