the khanda sikh symbol was developed sometime around maharaja ranjit singhs time. i was told it was created when singhs put their shastars infront of guruji (guru granth sahib ji). i guess they just liked what they saw.

Sorry, Guru Granth Sahib (NOT Adi Granth Sahib) is the complete Guru and should occupy the throne solely. Should there be a copy of the Dasam Granth and Sarbloh Granth in the Gurudwara kept with respect...sure...but not at the level of the Guru Granth Sahib.
