  1. To be honest I partially agree with the statement.

When there is multiculturalism then muslim kids will expose to many things which muslim society in General not like it.Like some of muslim may become athiests, may start worshipping idols.Their girls could

start dating and marrying non muslim boys.To be honest how many muslims are ok with the fact that there daughter marry a non muslim boy LIke a Hindu or sikh?

If I am not wrong countries like malayasia who project them as Liberal muslim countries have outlawed muslim women marrying non muslims. This shows that how much

    tolerance liberal muslim societies have

  2. It has to be said, Badal relies on rural Jatts for a large chunk of his votes. Foolish Jatts vote for his party blindly because of their narrow minded insularity (we must have one of our own on the throne, even if he is a pukka harami) as well as an (understandable) antipathy towards others (i.e. Congress).

What can we say? That Panjabis seem incapable of producing decent political leadership? That Jatt hegemony on Panjabi politics has become corrupted to an unbelievable extent?

Badal is essentially the peasant king of Panjab. Let us marvel at this glory.

    We need serious change.

Oh come on majority of regional politicians are corrupt

Just take a round at rediff.com and all you will find is Indians fighting and making fun of Each Other especially showing each other communities that how corrupt your politicians are.Badal hardly even get mentioned in that list.

  3. Ludhiana riots/protests are just a tip of the ice. There will be more in coming years. The numbers you have shown are wonderful but you have to factor in fake votes/people not voting etc... In Janakpuri area of Delhi which is very dominated area of Punjabi, there was no hope for congress candidate especially non Punjabi to win.. The results were surprising.. Locals didn't show up to vote in numbers but migrants used their rights fully.. And you can see the results at http://www.thaindian..._100193239.html

    Bhooliya ji

Despite repeated appeals Urban middle class is not showing interest in Voting. They prefer only to cry about corrupt politicians and not to act.The case of Indian election was different this time. The image of Manmohan singh ,Charm of Rahul Gandhi did the trick for congress in Punjabi Area's.We cannot say that all Punjabi's voted for BJP's Punjabi candidate.Mayawati always used this tactics. She hardly give Tickets to poor Dalits and prefer rich people

She knows that her own image is so powerful among Dalits that they will vote for her candidate irrespective of caste.

I do not go by news paper KD Singh ji as I have real time access to people and personal experiences of the situations. Media is just a puppet of strong and mighty

I totally agree with you that media is a puppet of strong and mighty. But there are problems with. personal experiances. When we talk to different people they say different things .Many time people lie to hide their own weaknesses so unless we become surveyer ,personal experinaces could also be misleading

Rajasthan state has banned outsiders to own land in their state as you might be aware of this so this will not be injustice to anyone.

Rajasthan state banned purchase of agriculture land not residential houses.

The price of Agricultural land in Punjab is haryana is so high that hardly anybody could think of purchasing land.I don't think bhaiya's of UP Bihar are so rich that they can purchase land in Punjab so even if Punjab enact law not to purchase land by outsiders then it will not stop inflow of migrants.

  4. Punjab's local residents whether Sikhs/Muslims/Hindus need to have more voting numbers in order to have any impact in state's affairs. They will not he heard until they raise their numbers and have more voting power. The only solution is to fight for discontinuation of voting rights and no property ownership to outsiders and migrants in Punjab other than local Sikhs/Hindu/Muslims... Migrants should not be discriminated on the jobs level if they qualify. I believe that attacking Ashutosh and other organizations will not solve any problem. This will give more fire to political leaders so they can bake their political agenda.

    Bhooliya ji

I think you confusing Migrant labour unrest with Ashutosh protest. They are different cases The only co incident was that sikh protest happened a day after labour unrest. As far voting rights are concerned ,according to Indian constituition anyone can migrate and vote in any part of country.also we have to look at number of migrants.

    http://www.merinews.com/article/migration-and-agricultural-development-in-punjab/15765078.shtml

according to above there were 1.7 million migrants in Punjab in 2001 out of which 60% were from neighbouring states and 40% from UP and Bihar so I am assumming that at present there are only above 1 million UP bihari migrants.

In a state of 25 million people 1- 1.5 million factor is not a such a big thing.

They can play a role in votes but ultimately it will be locals that decide who will be the CM.

Sikhs sitting in western countries should support rural population of Punjab and influence their voting power. NRI Sikhs should demand dual citizenship and right to vote in Punjab as this will increase voting power. This is political issue which is being turned into religious issue.

Dual citizenship was something that I heard but I don't have much knowledge about it.

KD Singh I do not support the bad treatment of any human kind. It should be protested as long as they are innocent.

Please see the following link to see migrants power in Punjab. People who are innocent and want to work do not burn properties

I agree that they should not burn property and do voilent protests.Up bihari's are migrating in very large number to bombay and that is the main reason Parties like MNS and Raj Thackerey is growing. From past 2-3 years marathi goons are attacking them and they never protested even peacefully ,so is there any political party that is turning them voilent in Punjab ?

  5. http://www.hindustantimes.com/News-Feed/newdelhi/L-G-to-decide-on-action-in-84-case/Article1-486616.aspx

The government on Monday said it would advise the Lt Governor of Delhi to take a decision by month-end on the CBI application seeking permission for the prosecution of Congress leaders Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots cases.

"We have advised the L-G to take the decision as early as possible…he must decide before the end of the month," Home Minister P Chidambaram informed the Rajya Sabha on Monday.

Pacifying the agitated members during a Calling Attention Motion on the Sikh riots, he said L-G Tejendra Khanna is the "competent authority to take a decision" and not the Centre.

"The CBI has completed investigation/reinvestigation of seven cases registered against Tytler, Kumar and Dharam Das Shastri (now dead). It has sought permission to prosecute the accused in four cases," said the minister.

HT had earlier reported about the CBI having sought permission to prosecute Tytler and Kumar.

Admitting "inaction" during the last 25 years, Chidambaram blamed it on legal hurdles and said a law should have been made to ensure that the guilty were not let off the hook.

The action against Delhi Police personnel for dereliction of duty has been "most unsatisfactory," Chidambaram said, during a five-hour debate.

"In the last 25 years, the delinquent persons who got away with no punishment is the police," he replied to a motion moved by independent MP Tarlochan Singh.

Leader of Opposition Arun Jaitley said, "What happened in 1984 was not a 'riot'. It was a state-sponsored massacre of innocents. It was a revenge killing of thousands with the active connivance of the state."

He said 300 people died in police firing during the Gujarat riots. "How many were injured or died in police firing during 1984 riots?" he asked.

Shiromani Akali Dal Leader Naresh Gujral said his father I.K. Gujral and others had met then Home Minister Narasimha Rao and "begged him to call the Army".

"The Army was not called. It just waited for permission, 20 kilometre on the outskirts of Delhi," he added.

He asked the Home Minister to permit the CBI to prosecute all those named by the

Nanavati Commission, which probed the 1984 riots, within three days.

CPI (M) leader Brinda Karat said many persons killed were reported as missing and their families did not get any compensation.

She said the Congress regime "lacked political will" during the riots.

The then West Bengal Chief Minister Jyoti Basu had dared anyone who attacked the Sikh community in the state and therefore there was no riot, she said.

  6. I don't live in Punjab.I live in NCR region of Delhi Which is in Haryana. There are plenty of UP Bihari's here and they are treated very badly by Local Haryanavi's. These migrants can't even think of Hitting on women here or they get beaten badly by Locals.

BTW Rural jatt sikhs are very deadly community how could anyone hit on their women? Also majority them barely cross 5-4 height and do not have good personality. If Punjab's women are having sex with them then they need to look at their character. They don't have anything neither money or personality that can attract a woman. If they are forcibily Raping women then sikh men should start wearing bangles because they can't even protect their women against these people.

Also Its true that crime in UP bihar is High but what I have seen here is that majority of them are hard working people.

  7. The problem of UP bihar migrants is not restricted to Punjab only. With extreme poverty, hardly any development and large population they are forced to migrate to other states. Now the local vs outsider issue is everywhere. But there is another problem if these migrants go back to their native states then many Places will go paralised as Locals are now so much addicted to their cheap labour

  8. That's the thing though.

1984 is like a political tool. BJP use it to attack Congress when attacked about the Babri Mosque/Gujerat episodes. If we had any sort of skilled diplomatic leader they should easily be able to use the BJP to finally have a proper hearing on the 1984 murders.

I think at present many parties are putting pressure on congress on 1984.Even in Liberhan report many parties attacked the report and congress for bailing out

central govt of that time. The reason is simple BJP is now declining party and power of congress is increasing day by day which is a big threat for many regional parties as well as BJP .So Anything available against cong is being used

  9. http://www.indianexpress.com/news/Sikh-bodies-call-for-boycott-of-CM-Badal/553765

In a meeting held at Gurdawara Kalgidhar Sahib today, various Sikh bodies have urged the community to boycott Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, holding him responsible for the December 5 clashes between Sikhs and police and allowing godman Ashutosh Maharaj, head of the Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan, for organising a function in the city.

R P Singh, spokesperson of the Kahan Keertani Jatha, said, “We have passed six resolutions and unanimously decided that Badal is responsible for the violence. He is also using his men to suppress the protest launched by Sikh bodies against him. We have issued a strict warning to them to stop working for Badal or else we will expose them before the Sikh community.”

The bodies have also demanded martyr status for Darshan Singh, an auto-rickshaw driver, who had died of police firing in the Ludhiana violence. “We have demanded a CBI probe into the firing and requested the Punjab and Haryana High Court to order the state to register an FIR against BJP MLA Harish Bedi, his son Honey Bedi and police officers responsible for the firing,” added R P Singh.

“Sikh institutions like the Akal Takht and SGPC are being ruled by corrupt politicians and we will launch a movement to purge these institutions. We have also called in support of the Sikh diaspora who have expressed their solidarity with us to sustain this movement at the international level,” he added.

The bodies that participated in the meet included Tat Khalsa, Akhand Keertani Jatha, Dal Khalsa and Delhi Gurdwara Management Commitee and others.

  10. http://news.rediff.com/report/2009/dec/14/cbi-wants-to-prosecute-tytler-in-1984-riots-case.htm

The Central Bureau of Investigation has sought permission to prosecute Congress leaders Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar, accused in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, Home Minister P Chidambaram [ Images ] said on Monday.

The CBI has completed the investigation and re-investigation of seven cases against Tytler, Kumar and late Dharam Das Shastri, Chidambaram informed the Rajya Sabha.

"While in four cases, the CBI has sought permission under Section 196 of the Criminal Procedure Code from the Competent Authority to prosecute the accused persons, in one case, the closure has been filed and accepted by the court," he said.

The home minister was responding to a Calling Attention motion on the progress of relief for the victims and the steps taken to punish the guilty involved in the anti-Sikh riots.

  11. I have to say when it comes to sports religion should be left out, as for Amir khan and as a huge boxing fan myself I must say he does seem to have some talent. I've noticed a lot of people seem to hate on him simply because he is not white or sikhs dislike him because he is muslim, I remember when he got knocked out his clips were shown all over places like sikhsangat, so people could have a dig at him, but know that he has got a world champtionship belt and knocked someone out, everyone has turned a blind eye to it.

If Muslims will use his wins to prove that they are better than other communities then Its obvious that others like sikhs,Hindu's will not like him

  12. Husband charged.

Have a read of the comments as well.

    http://news.uk.msn.com/uk/articles.aspx?cp-documentid=151342715

The people that write on sites hardly have any knowledge. One person wrote that these cases are unheard in Hindu,Jain, Buddhist communities.Perhaps he/she should read some Indian newspaper and read about cases wives killed by husbands and sometimes wives along with their B/f killing their husbands then comment that whether these things exists in Hindu, jains and Buddhists or not

  13. Anyway, I don't think Amir Khan turned the fight into a Jew Muslim thing, but others did.

I was too referring to muslim community.Shoab malik the captain of pakistan in T20 world cup cricket apologised to entire muslim community after loss from India in Finals in 2007 .The pakistan cricket team used to beleive that they are

    playing for entire muslim world

  14. Boxing rules don't allow beards, that's one reason why. MMA is a different story and there are a few apney who are doing well, like Subheg Singh.

Already a large number of sikhs are money so how could that be a reason. Also I don't think that sportspersons are very much religious. The cousin I mentioned cut his hair despite being from very religious family.Hardly we see any sikh players in any sport with full beard

  15. It's not a safe bet careerwise KDS. Plus a lot of Sikh mums are excessively protective over their sons and don't like them getting into physical contact sport these days.

I've often wondered why there are no quality Sikh boxers. In the East End plenty of Irish, Pakistani and even Bengali kids take up boxing. I don't really see Sikhs do it?

Anyway, I don't think Amir Khan turned the fight into a Jew Muslim thing, but others did.

Can you imagine a high profile match between a Sikh and Muslim boxer in the UK. It would be charged.....

We make better accountants, IT engineers, lawyers than fighters these days...that's progress.....

I know Its not safe bet in career. My own cousin is Number 2 Indian Discuss throw player despite being from a very middle class back ground and he is not Earning much.I expect more from Sikhs from abroad because developed countries offer more monetery support than India. Also sikh temparament and physique can make them very good players.

Btw if sikhs are becoming accountants ,IT engineers lawyers then where is the martial spirit?

  16. Isn't it strange that Muslims turn everything into Religion. In the second video It is written that muslim vs Jew.If they beleive that Muslim Amir Khan is so powerful why not put him in heavyweight boxing?

Btw sikhs living outside India should start producing their own icons. We don't see many sikhs in sports now not even the mona's.

The turban, the beard and the Punjabi accent are the new cool code in Bollywood, thanks to People magazine’s sexiest man alive, Ranbir Kapoor, playing a Sikh in his upcoming release, Rocket Singh - Salesman of The Year.

“Ranbir Kapoor plays a very Mumbaiyya sardar, who speaks English, Hindi at work and Punjabi at home,” says Shimit Amin, the film’s director.

Sikhs have always been appearing in Bollywood films, but rarely as central characters. “Over the past few years, Sikhs have gone from being comic figures to cool in Hindi films,” says critic Anupama Chopra.

This year, the bearded Saif Ali Khan romanced a Brazilian in Love Aaj Kal, while last year, a turbaned Akshay Kumar danced with Katrina Kaif in Singh Is Kinng. “Sardarjis will be proud of my honourable representation,” Saif had said. “It’s heartening to finally see Sikhs having romantic sensibilities,” says Randeep Grover, a Sikh hotelier in Gurgaon. “Earlier we were relegated to being the hero’s funny sidekicks.”

Some Sikhs are optimistic about cracking Bollywood. “Ranbir is looking so handsome in a beard and turban,” says Jasangad Singh of SGTB Khalsa College. “It’s now possible for us Sikhs to become heroes without cutting off our hair or shaving off our beards.”

Girls are also appreciating the Sikh look, starting with actress Shazahn Padamsee, who is debuting opposite Ranbir in Rocket Singh. “I prefer the sardar Ranbir than the clean-shaven one,” says Padamsee. “Once I saw him clean-shaven at a party and I was like, ‘Hey dude, I don’t know you’.” The Sikh girls are also happy. “Though I’m a thorough-bred sardarni, I’ve always preferred clean-shaven men,” says RJ Rochie Rana. “But Ranbir’s sardar look has changed my views.”
