So is it the same or is it two different kinds of discussion.

Isn’t goshti more of a question and answer session. Not long debate about one subject but rather multiple questions being asked one after the other

One of Pandit ji's students was the Taksali leader Bishan Singh Murarewale:

No idea,
It's extremely fascinating to read these lineage accounts from the 19th century

The Indian concept of man, Bach, karam (from thought to speech to action) is given in a different order. It says man, karma, Bach. From thought to action to speech. Does this error of speech on the Kings part indicate that the king is the kind of person who goes straight from initial thought to action. An indicator that he rushes things, he doesn’t speak to people before executing a task.

Is this not the first time we hear reaction from the king to the stories that he is being told

Fantastic. Do share your findings

Very interesting. What do you make of it

I think so yes. Opposite darbAr sahib

I had family buy it from the JSKS shop in Amritsar and send it to me

Sorry I thought you were talking about the Sri Narayan Hari Updesh.
The author of Sarkutavali was not Sikh. He was a vaishnav Hindu. But he wrote his books in Amritsar during Sikh rule.

Mine has oankaar, the devi, Ganesha, the ten gurus and then his vidiyaguru. One always has to look at the first one to see who is the author an upaashak of.
The book is in prose whereas gurbilas is rhymed verse. Which verses are you referring to that are difficult ?

The Sarkutavali is not so big. Has a lot of content but written in short verses. It’s about 50 pages

Kam's absolutely correct, avoid all of gyani bhagvan singh's steeks like the plague. They contain lots of errors. I even recall hearing Jathedar Vedanti quoting from Saruktavali at a smagam a year ago or so.
Sri Narayan Hari Updesh is exactly that, the updesh of Sri (Pandit) Narayan Hari, Hari being a surname used by Nirmalay occasionally (often when writing in Hindi, Pandit Tara Singh Ji did the same and this text above was originally also in hindi). Pandit Narayan Singh Ji was one of the greatest saints and pandits of his era. Nirmal Virakat Kutiya in Haridvar was his asthan. The text is immense. It is written by Pandit Hardev Singh Ji and quotes liberally from a vast array of sanskrit vedantic material.
I finally managed to get this book. It’s huge, almost 1000 pages long in big pages and small letters. Looking forward to studying it.

It’s funny I’ve been thinking for long that the Afghan Sikh community in London appear to have signs of intermarrying inbred within family. They have unusual facial traits not seen amongst Afghan Muslims or Indian Sikhs.
-
Again I have a feeling it’s the same theme of “something obvious is happening right in front of you”

I think there are about 10-15

The Chaupa singh rahitnama also mentions the panj ishnaan

Are there any books that deal with khashatrya Maryada?
