  1. why if you have the attitude towards other faiths would you want her to convert? If she was happy in sikhi, which most likely she deosnt really know much about, would you want to say to her if you choose me you choose islam?

also what if you studied Gurbani thorugh study and not thru force?

I cant speak for all Sikhs , but myself i dont really have an issue with islam or muslims. The only time i get riled is when muslims ( or anyoen for that matter) deliberately distort sikhi to undermine it.

Why have you let this hang for 7 yeras as well? Thassa long time dude!!

  2. theres a lot more awareness od DGG bcuz in the last few years we have seen the anti DGG people make a huge effort to put thier point across starting with kala afgahna and so on and so on. The difference wiv these nindaks however is that they openly challenged Akal Takht authourity and seem to have come out of it unscathed, so more cockroached have now come out such as ghagga who had 400 questions about Sant Gurbachan Singh.

  3. i agree wiv that, i think as a pracharak he is ok. the thing wid darshan das was that when he came to uk in 87, the indian govt issued a statemnet to he BBC that the " guru of the sikhs will be visiting uk". given what hapned over the nirankaris in 78 etc govt support of non-sikh movements, 2 sikhs here shot him in southall. i have heard tape of him being shot.

jus b4 he is shot a woman in the gathering is asking him whether its ok to vidit india according to the stars cosmosiclagy or summat.

anyway i cant say for sure that he promoted hisself as guru of sikhs anywhere, but certainly niether him or his followers did anyting about him being the guru of the sikhs statement.

i have heard that he had women sucking his toe, and that is not an euphimism for anything.

anyhow i wouldnt really make a point of listening to him.

  4. lohri in sikhi isnt celebratedas aprt of sikhi. its just celebrated by sikhs as a festival. same as christmas. we had a lovley tree. i spent long time looking at it. but i wouldnt go sofar as to say that the birth of Father X-mas is celebrated by SIkhs.

  5. i remember asking my vidya guru " there are so many texts and knowledge within sikhi that most people could never get round to reading or listening to them all."

he replied " in your lifetime, read Aad Guru Dasam Guru and anything else will be a bonus."

now i have have made a little atempt to read them. still at the start mind you, but the list given above could only be completed by someone who has time on their hands. I dont think that in my lifetime i would probably get round to reading many or any of the above texts.

is it practical tho to expect a perosn to have read all of the baove texts?
