  1. Javan Mard, why dont the sufis let strangers turn up to their programmes?

    do you speak fluent persian?

the afgahns in Mashad are mostly refugess of the afgahn -soviet confluct in the 1980s. i had read that the irianian govt were trying to force them back to afgahnistan. is thie true? also are the afghans mostly sunnis, and how do they feel taking sanctuary from shias?

  2. look at it from the point of view of the Guru. Would Guru Gobind Singh have denied the bibian Amrit?

In the times of Guru Nanak , Guru Ji raised the woman from subservient to equal. Bani says that woman cannot be inferior to man. So would amrit have to be given on gender or not?

Guru Ji also said the no man is inferior to another. So if all were welcome to partake of amrit, none were denied. We can all agree on this yeah? So is it possibly the same for the bibian?

Im not too sure about the Hazur Sahib maryada being the true maryada. If you think about it, even idols appeared at Harimandar Sahib over time, so a place far so away from the centre of Sikhi could easily have had non-sikh practices gradually introduced.

  3. Daas ,

if you believe that what you have typed are convincing or reasonable arguments for doubting raagmala as gurbani, then you need to do more research. I read about the Raagmala from www.akj.org and it created doubts in my mind. then i read " gurmat parkaah " by Sant Gurbachan Singh Bhindranwale and listened to katha of raagmala, and the reasoning used negates the anti-raagmala viewpoint.

Now you can visit www.raagmalagurbanihai.com and see the most puratan birs of Guru Ji written in different places all from the same source which have raagmala.

So please, a benti at your charan please at least look into this. However if you still dont beleive its up to you, at least you looked at both sides.

no-one putting a neja to your head.

  4. Bhai Daya Singh And Bhai Dharam Singh still fouhgt in the wars between Sikhs and moghals yeah? Would that kind of make them Nihangs?

its very true that few Sikhs who take amrit are actually sant sipahi, from what ive seen. But again this is due to us oursleves. Why dont the panth provide for this? why dont those who know how, help others? this is the only way the knowledge will expand.

I remember once Nihnag Niddar Singh saying shastervidya art is more or less forgaotten now, and only a handful were holding onto it. Same as Raag Kirtan.

But if the Khande ki pahul was only for nihangs, then surely some of the great saints of yestercentury would have siad so?

  5. Balbir Singh,

Can you explain why you believe that Bhai Gurdas' varan should be discarded wholesale?

If these varan were never part of Sikh litereature, can you explain at what time they crept in?

Surely the great saints of yestercentury would have raised the same points that you have raised today, if there was any doubt about the eachings for Sikhs?

Why do you mock others for saying that they have the company of Guru Granth Sahib, after all isnt that what all Sikhs including yourself aspire to?

If you said that to me and i mocked you then woudlnt that make you feel bad?

  6. There is a beautiful thing called- teekas/steekas of sri guru granth sahib ji written by great mahapursh who have anubhavi parkash of gurbani and also have expereinced gurbani on a spiritual/pratical level yet these teekas/steekas are fully ignored by soo called western sikhs who like gyan of gurbani to be spoon-fed to them, these soo called western sikh youths on top of that have a nerve to demand these teekas/steekas to be translate into english for their own comfort level because they have to learn punjabi/gurmukhi. I say even if some chardikalah nishkhami sevadar where to translate steekas/teekas of great anubhavi mahapursh into english for these people, these people will still make up excuses like- i dont like reading or teekas/steekas are little too expensive. People who like others to spoon feed gyan of gurbani to them are not sikhs beecause they are not khoji or learners. They end up creating outrageous posts, threads and claims on forums.

neo , dont knock these people man. Imyself read Japji Sahib in english way before my Panjabi was fluent enough to read it in Panjabi. Im talking years aswell. The thing here is education. i never learnt Panjabi until I was about 16 , wheereas in this country you begin to learn english as young as 4 or 5. However not all peopel are good readers. So again like myself they like to listen to veechars on audio.

In the Guru times, was Sikhi spread mainly Verbaly or Scriptally?

  7. QUOTE

Pray Truth for all and say Satsriakal!

    Dear all!

Quote from Chatanga Jee "what words were you using to remember Akal by when you did naam simran."

I say 'Raam' when my Guru sings "bhaa-ee ray raam kahhu chit laa-ay."

I repeat 'Hari Hari' when my Guru sings "gur mil naanak har har kahi-aa."

When my Guru sings "saaDhsang japtay naaraa-in tin kay dokh jaray," I start singing with HIM Naaraa-in.

May I ask what do you do when you hear instructions from the true Guru?

    QUOTE

    Thank you Balbir Singh.

  8. QUOTE"Quote "Balbir Singh, when you were doing naam simran, what were you actually saying to remember Akal by?"

Please search and find a true Saint to know this. Do not waste any moment with empty promises.

    I wish all God's Grace.

    Balbir Singh " QUOTE.

Balbir Singh plz answer the question. im intrigued.

i'll ask you once again , what words were you using to remember Akal by when you did naam simran. I dont want an answer from the saints. I want an answer from you. If you cannot tell me, then tell me you cant tell me, rather than telling me where else i can find the answer.

  9. from what little i know Baba Ji was givenhukam by Guru Ji to exorcise spirits. History says that his dera was atacked by the Pathans , and then he came to the protection of the Khalsa brotherhood.

But now i have seen that some people call him Guru Wadhbhag Singh. however i get the feeling that this dera or whatever youwanna call it has to some extent gone the way of the Udasi, in moving away from KARAM, and back to BHARAM.

This going back to bharam can never be good no matter who practices it.
