Is Azrael = Dharmraja?
-
Sounds like a slave mentality similar to that found amongst people in other former colonies.
-
Amazing. I've heard of many such cases and witnessed a few myself. Who is the baba ji you talk about?
-
The Singhs i've spoken to from Taksal all say they are 100% certain that it is 'the Bani of Guru Gobind Singh Ji', so yes.
-
Niranjana - i think he's refering to the commonly quoted line: "Jab Lag Khalsa Rahey Niyara......."
Don't know where it's from though.
-
Quite a few Singhs from 3HO (check out www.sikhnet.com) wear Cholas to work. Personally i feel that 'Bipran ki reet' relates both to Hindu practices and trying to be like the majority (hiding your identity) - basically not having the guts to stand up for what's right out of fear of what others will think.
The Dastar and 5Ks help give the strength to stand alone. Hence the link between Bana and Bipran ki reet.
BTW - Bana for me refers to the external kirya of the Khalsa and Bani the internal.

Traditional style Kacherey are made in such a way that you can wear nothing else and still be decent (for want of a better word). They also give you loads of 'room' keeping everything healthy, more comfortable than boxers, can't be pulled off, nala has many uses, etc etc

Does kachera mean underwear.
No, Kachera. Look at: http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=h...ficial%26sa%3DN

Kya baath....
thanks Kam - that is what i was looking for. a must-listen for anyone wanting to do simran.
Hope it's the complete set of Bachans.
-
Neo - i tried downloading the file today and the first 2 mins or so are fine but then it sounds like its 'scrambled' - like a chewed up tape or scratched cd. Does it work for you?
-
There was a large influence of Indian elements which found its way into the Islamic traditions, did it not?
Homer, this has been discussed to death on this forum.......
-
Anyone know who this lot are? Who is Dassan Dass and the Baba Ji he refers to?
BTW - before you get sucked in by the sweet talk on that site, their reasoning and frankly whole 'system' is full of holes....
-
more disturbing is " .....he even explains how Guru Nanak even said that kaba (in mecca) was a shiva temple..."
where did Maharaj say this?
-
are these the same as the ones on www.gurbaniupdesh.com
Nah, don't think so. Unless i looked in the wrong place on Gurbaniupdesh.com.
Neo's recordings are amazing - Sant Ji are talking to the sangat (in UK I think) about Nam etc.
-
thanks singh!
-
actually just found this:http://www.ik13.com/audio&video.htm
scroll down all the way to 'parmarthak parvachan' - is this the same?
-
Neo, is this still available - i've searched the net and not found it, so you're my last hope...

Love the last picture of Singhs boxing

The Dasam Granth was not even authored by Guru Gobind Singh and it has nothing to do with Sikh religion
idiots, maha moorakh mugadhs!!!
just because they are not mature enough to see what Maharaj is telling us they come out with this rubbish. As some one who wasn't always religious (to put it mildly), i fully agree with Charitropakhyan and the warning to men to be careful of maya in the form of women, in fact if i had read it earlier, i wouldn't have made some very stupid mistakes......

Naam di daat. is the gift or the virtue of the incantation matra given by one to another in order to meditate upon it in order to attain union with God. With mainstream sikhs the naam is given byt the 5 piaray. in Udasis, Sanyasis and Brahmcharis is is given by the teacher to the student.
but then why do Amritdhari Singhs still ask for Naam di Dat?
-
I agree with Xylitol. Sometimes we try to use our tiny intellects to understand Maharaj ji and bring them to our level. At the end of all the arguments, what will have been achieved? Nobody's going to change their point of view.
Why not ask Guru Sahib themselves what happened that day? They haven't gone anywhere......
-
Sant Isher Singh Ji gives one explanation of what Naam is in one of the 'atmik bachan' recordings - before they explain how to do simran. Maybe Neo or Kam have the recordings?
One explanation that I have heard (amongst others..) is that we literally ask Maharaj to make us their own and give us their name - like a bride takes the groom's family name.
Another explanation i once heard is that the word Naam can be thought of as 'Na Meh' (No ego) so this would again be asking Maharaj to merge us into themselves.
The most common interpretation i've come across is that asking for Naam is asking to be put on the path of simran and for 'safalta' on that path.

There a Tuk in Bani which says:"....Mirtak Ko Jeevalanhara...."
Bringing the dead to life was no big deal for Guru Ji. Remember Baba Atal.....

Another test is that they don't teach different things.
