  1. rudra shakti : lol all this mythology stuff, i find it very hard to believe.

well rudra according to mythology was the tears of shiva that fell and became hard, and became like stone. u can see some people in india wearing it ! as a talisman.

theres no this and that shakti .. theres only bhakti and in bhakti is all the shakti.

  2. ....The funny thing is that baba was a follower of shiva ji, this is why im so confused..........

If you try to understand you will be confused, this is the understanding that comes without thinking.

and by the way that was an interesting post about the baba throwing malay in fire.

  3. Philosophy behind this: Aghoris are indifferent to everything. For them there is nothing good ,ideal or bad.Everything that exists in this world is essentially made up of same thing.Hence they utter obscenities, may take liqour, eat Dead human flesh and do other things which might appear to be 'uncivilised 'to us. "

    dhuni wale baba

agreed, that is the true philosophy of life, but I yearn to acheive it as per sikhi rules.

  4. They are a group of yogis. They are Naths, Aghoris. I m not sure in to the detail, but I think they worship skulls, ... and non-sense things. They might have a lot of siddhis, they do tapsya to get it.

Sure, they are followers of God. so you want to be an aghori baba now?

  5. I understand the posts made by deepsingh and xyitol. Its really a hard question. But again I want to point out that it is NOT JUST ANYONE will put a gatra. Only a person who commits himself to Guru ji will put a gatra.

There is another story that if a person who has put gatra, then again removes it and starts doing all the things which are opposite to Gurmat. I know so many people in my life who are like this !

So the question of wether a person must marry amritdhari OR shouldnt distinguish, is very hard to answer.

After reading several posts made and surfing the net. I have come to the conclusion that there is no hard and fast rule wether the person to whom we marry should be amritdhari or non-amritdhari.

You can meet a girl who does good kirtan, who is very devout sikh .. and she has the potential of being amritdhari, then that person u can marry.

    OR

you can meet a girl who does vedbai of hair.. i dont think this person can qualify to be married with.

  6. amritdharee can only marry amritdharee.

If this is the case then why at some place in the SGPC maryada it is said

"If you are amritdhari , it is your duty to get your spouse baptised as well" ?

This clearly shows that at thetime of marriage one of the person must be amritdhari and the other non-amritdhari.

secondly, I know a girl , she is brilliantly gursikh. and one of her parent is non-amritdhari.

Lastly, I will make sure I marry an amritdhari .. cos if she is non-amritdhari, i really cant cope with her if she waxes and does her eyebrows, thats the cheif concern i got when it comes to marrying non-amritdhari.

  7. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh

laterly I have started a small movement in the eradication of the term SGGS or any other abbreviation in reference to our sikh gurus. I know its sounds petty but using referencing like SGGS instead of Guru Granth Sahib makes it sound like we're quoting from a book rather than the spritual and temperal Guru of the Sikhs

Would any of us call Guru Nanak Dev Ji - SNDJ?

lets stop the rot!! I know people type it to save time when typing, but lets show our Guru respect and not treat it like a book.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh!!

agreed... Good point ! I think we can quote as "Mahalla #" or if its by a bhagat, then the name of the bhagat with the page no. included.

  8. I take a whole week to do it

I started doing it all in one day like few months ago...but i realized my dhyaan was on the clock and not the bani, coz i was timing myself daily "ajj enna time laggeya, ajj enna laggeya"...then im like "yaar swaad ni aunda :( ", so i went back to 1 full paath per week...slow n steady wins the race, bani samjho and get Guru's grace...dargah vich tera ujjala face, and shaheed singhs will guard ur place...

    AGREED 100% + 1%.

  9. Just remember one thing. Quality of path done is more important than quantity of paath done. Do it SLOW AND STEADILY, ABSORBING EACH VERSE . If you can absorb even one verse from sukhmani sahib in ur mind, it will give you great bliss. So I say do it SLOW AND STEADY.

Remember SLOW AND STEADY wins the race. Not the person who recites like a machine.

  10. Thanks veer ji, Talking about hair, I am reminded of a incident which I saw in the Malton Gurudwara at Toronto. I am sure N3O S!ngh ji knows about this Gurudwara, since it is in Toronto and very close to the Paerson intl airport.

As I was sitting in the Gurudwara, I saw a lady coming in , she had a chin with thick beard and the hair must be 2 inches long. Seeing this I thought to myself how great and strong this lady must have been who followed the bhana of waheguru meetha kar ke. Its very difficult to be pure gursikhs like her.

As for asking the message question on Tapoban, .. Tapoban is AKJ, while I do respect AKJ a lot.. I feel that they are a little bit extreme-sided, so the response I may get will also be extreme sided. For example AKJ people dont drink tea, they think it is nasha. Dont get me wrong.. I have respect for AKJ.
