http://sikh-reality.blogspot.com/2009/12/translated-passage-from-sri-sarbloh.html
This is the first of a few posts which will be translations of Persian passages that appear in Sri Sarbloh Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj.
I have a friend who knows Persian and the Persian script will be added to these posts.

Well ask Akali Baba Baba Surjit Singh then unless you want to call him a liar. There is a SOAS thesis coming out soon about how Nihangs were sent to Afghanistan by Ranjit Singh to rape Afghan women. We'll see how you react to that. And yes the author of it is a Sikh.
i know the person who said that, it was by a singh , who is on this board, Itvinder Singh.
That is totally false information, and he is not a crediable source. the singhs i know who have met baba ji have said no way in hell he would say that

also, what should i use for my ink?
ive been practising for a while with my normal fountain pen. but now that im going to write some thing serious, i think i should invest in proper ink?
maybe i'll just write out japuji sahib first to show sangat, n take it from there?

Quite nice. I suggest you use a flat feather calligraphy pen (2 or 3 mm) or even better use reed pen that you cut yourself. The problem I have encountered in the UK is the absence of good calligraphy ink but there are some shops around the British Museum that have very good material. You should maybe invest in a good knife for cutting reed pens. I like the second picture with the start of Japuji. The problem is keeping up the same concentration throughout the complete work. I noticed that when working on manuscripts. You see how the Nirmala or Udasi wrote very carefully at the beginning and then 10 pages later you can see less dedication.
What did the scribes of old use in India?

I found an old saroop of dasam granth sahib. at the end of this saroop, it ends with this mysterious bani. it is hand written, so i just typed all the banni up. It is in larivaar, because I was not sure when to break up the words. If anyone has read this anywhere, or knows what it is, let me know.
Interesting things about it
- starts out with, bhagat bhagauti tishe ki jo randheer dharai (it says Nardheer, but thats most likely a typo), the point is, that is from Ogardanthi, and in some old versions of Chandi Di Vaar. Why does it start this banni off?
- at the end, guru gobind singh jis name is in it, it reads, Fateh Jang Gobind Singh , not sure how to break up the following words...
- this is the last bani in the saroop, and the last thing before this was the shabad, judh jite in he ke prasaad...
any idea?
note, you should probably copy the text below, put it in your word document, then change the font to gurmukhi, that will work
this one is really making me scratch my head...
thanks! gurfateh!
