Best way to convert the font is. copy the entire text and paste it in Microsoft Word and then select the entire text and change the font to gurbani font. Can someone do that and then convert it to a pdf file and upload it to this site. I Tried to upload the microsoft word file but it wont let me.

In this shabad it says there are nine continets, I was always taught there are either 6 or 7 continents. Is this translation wrong. And can anyone tell back in 1500's what was perception of how many Continets and Seas that they thought there were back then by the religous teachers, scholars or scentists.

In my view, many repeat the word 'Waahay Guru' to reach enlightenment and receive spiritual wisdom. The true Gurus never suggested this practice though.

This may not happen in the future also as the wisdom of true Gur is that Gurdev recites.

According to Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale Ji everyone is a born a Sikh, (even if they are Christian,Jew,Muslim,Hindu) But also notes that theres a differnce between a Sikh and a Singh.

I have couple of question Regarding Satiguru Nanak Dev Ji and Mata Tripta Ji and Baba Kalu Ji

I was wondering is there any puratan scripture (written before 1469) foretelling the coming of Satiguru Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Also who were the ancestors of Mata Tripta Ji and Baba Kalu Ji. I just thought that prior to Satiguru Guru Nanak Dev Ji being born, his family must have done Jugs of Naam Jaap, and there would be some foretelling of Satiguru Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s ancestry as well.

Baba Hari Singh (Randhawe wale) does katha on our Karams it is about 10 hrs long. But it is very informative and goes in to great detail about free will, hakum and ones own karams. Its to much work to keep pasting the links for all 18 links so here is the main link. He does Katha from Souraj Parkash, its worth listening to it all.

I began listening to Sant Gurbachan Singh (Bhindran wale) on Bhai Gurdas Dian Vaaran , but it does not have all the katha for the Vaars only up to 6. Is there another website were the complete 41 Vaars are done by Sant Gurbachan Singh (Bhindran wale). ok thanks

I was listing to katha at Gurudawara last week and the katha vacheck said that in one the the rehatnamas it said that Guru Gobind Singh Ji insisted that a sikh must do his own ardas. But before ardas, take a shower, put on clean clothes, then make Degh in sarbloh and reciting Path while making Degh and then do 3 full Anand Sahibs. Then do ur OWN Ardas.

Great topic my views are thus:-

In recent times i doubt there was a greater scholar than Baba Santa Singh, particularly of Dhan Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Ji's sacred writings

and i would agree with him that Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaaj did pargat of devi. The reason is thus; chandi is a sevadaar of the khalsa Panth - she used to sweep up in the house of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and recieve blessings which she would then pass on to her followers.(Gurpratap Suraj Prakash Granth)

Durga is the Godess of Dharam Yudh and only as per maryada did Guru Ji pargat Devi and tell her to shower her blessings over the khalsa Panth so that it may be victorious. The same event occured in mahabharat just before the final dharam yudh by the pandavas, Krishna instructed Arjuna to seek the blessing of chandi so that there dharam yudh may not fail. When chandi appeared she said that her blessing was not neccessary as krishna himself has all the blessings within him since he is righteous and the yug avtar. Krishna only told Arjuna to do this as per maryada of a warrior before war to acknowledge the godess of war(shatree maryada).

It is God who created Durga and gave her the duty of instigating righteous wars this is the ultimate reality, but Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaaj has only acknowledged her and has taken courtesy towards her. Its exactly the same as Raagmala Guru Maharaaj used Raags in the formation of Adi Guru Granth Sahib and at the end wrote raagmala so as to show courtesy towards them otherwise they would have been akirtghan. The Gurus used Raags and showed respect towards them this is not wrong in any way.

Upon Avtaar of Sri Gur

I thought that Nirmal Panth (Guru Nanak Dev Ji) is the same as Khalsa panth (Guru Gobind Singh Ji). Since the Gurus are from the same Joytt then does that mean Guru Nanak Dev · Guru Angad Dev · Guru Amar Das · Guru Ram Das · Guru Arjan Dev · Guru Har Gobind · Guru Har Rai · Guru Har Krishan · Guru Tegh Bahadur did pargat of a Devi. I dont believe any Guru Ji did Pargat of a Devi before going on a yudh. That would mean Guru Hargobind Ji and Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Did pargat of a Devi when they went to war, i find that highly unlikely. Guru Gobind Singh Ji thaught the same principles as the 9 other Gurus before him, that there is no need to do a pargat of a Devi only Akaal Purkh.

I have a quick question, i was wondering why is the word (Srī) used for Srī gurḏev▫e namah and not for the other Gurus.

I have download 5 nitnem banis by Giani Thakur Singh and couple of other banis. He reads out gurbani very slowly and nicely (Santhiya Style) I can understand every word and i also so get a chance to get my pronunciation right after listening to him . So I was wondering if there are any mp3s of the whole Siri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Read by him Slowly. Ok Thanks
