  1. It was an article I read that 95% are forced into it and the rest are doing it to help men?
  2. Because more than 95% of all prostitutes (men and women) are forced into prostitution, it's a modern day form of slavery. They don't have a choice, either they are victims of human trafficking or they are in debt and forced to sell their bodies.
  3. You can both be Guru's and then me or another member can shoot you for being blasphemic.
  4. When people are discussing and one part doesn't want to discuss anymore it's not necessarily because he/she has given up. Have you ever thought about you can get a headache when discussing with people? I can't be bothered to go through all the posts in this topic, but saying things like "my dad's house is bigger than yours na na na" is what we did when we were kids and teenagers, can't we try to act like adults and discuss in a nice and respectful manner? This goes out to me as well. Btw when did Dal become a Guru? Did I miss something?
  5. The sad thing is, that some people are born into prostitution. I watched a documentary many years ago about the Badi caste from Nepal. I don't know if it's also in India, but read this: http://www.advocacynet.org/page/badi http://www.nytimes.com/2004/04/11/international/asia/11MUDA.html Video:
  6. How sad! I would have thought the percentage of children prostitutes were higher.
  7. Lol I've only been a nurse for 1½ years so I don't have much experience. I haven't killed a patient (yet!) so I guess I'm okay, lol
  8. How about yourself, Suryadev, is your cholesterol too high?
  9. I'm at work now so I will get back to you later regarding your questions about cholesterol and Simvastatin. Dal, how old are you? I need to know your age before I can answer your questions about cholesterol.
  10. I can identify a lot more family names than that. What does extended family mean to you? Do you think it would be wrong to marry your cousin's cousin (whom you are not blood related to)? When the time comes for me to get married, I would find out somehow or other if the man I'm going to marry is in my immediate family (but not by asking his caste), if he was door rishtedar i.e. my mami's cousin's wife's brother's son it doesn't really matter, because there's no blood relation between me and him.
  11. So you are saying a man in underwear only isn't fully or half naked?
  12. Then what's left? Vegetables, fruits, nuts, lentils and oils?
  13. I understand it's a profession but how can you be a jatt by profession if you've never been in a khet or know nothing about agriculture? Like I mentioned earlier it's like saying "for generations my family were doctors, I'm a shopkeeper but I'm proud of being a doctor"... Errr this is the exact same thing people do today. They're proud of a profession/caste that they aren't. My mama in Punjab is a farmer by profession, he has a lot of jameen, but he's not a jatt.
  14. There's no need for me to tell you what Rehat I follow. It's common sense that Sikhs do not believe in/or should be proud of their caste. I only posted that link from sgpc because you talked about Akal Takht earlier and I assumed you followed their Rehat? Go to the next Amrit Sanchar in the UK and talk to Panj Pyare. I left Sikhsangat because of the hypocrisy of the admins.. But that's another discussion. How do you know I left SS? Are you one of the admins/moderators there? This forum is called SIKHawareness and not jattawareness so perhaps you should go to jattworld or any other jatt website to talk to people who have the same opinions like you, because this forum is obviously not the place for you. To me there's no difference between a half-naked man and a half-naked women. Our people just need to grow up and stop having so many double standards. At last but not least, you answered my question about why you are proud to be a jatt. Are you a farmer living in London or are you some spoiled kid living in London who thinks it's cool to say you're a jatt when you know nothing about agriculture and never been working in a khet?
  15. Lol then you better start doing some exercise now before you end up getting diabetes or some cardiovascular disease. Most people at my unit end up there with a acute myocardial infarct because their cholesterol is high. I'm cutting down on Coca-Cola, roti, cakes and junk-food and I can already feel a difference.
  16. Hmm.. In January there was a Smagam and Amrit Sanchar in Germany. After the Amrit Sanchar Panj Pyare said the Sangat could come and hear the Rehat they were going to tell those who have just been blessed with Amrit. The Singh said that nowadays people don't want to wear all kakaars. Some people wear a little Kirpan and a Kanga around their neck, and then he said, why don't we just wear a Kechara around our necks too?
  17. You sure you didn't have all of them yourself and left 1 or 2 for him?
  18. You hit the nail on the head, Mithar.
  19. I always take good care of my enemies :-) I live by the words "keep your friends close, but your enemies closer"
  20. Dal, have you had too many samose, pakore and puriyaan chole?
