  1. Haven't watched it as much as I have in past years, mainly because it's on quite late here and I have more responsibilities now :o

Punjab aren't doing very well are they? However, I heard they finally won a match last night against Chennai. Was a bit of a nail biter apparently.

  2. GuptSingh, do you really have the audacity to claim that the majority of Sikh practices throughout Sikh history are wrong and that it is only now that Sikhs have supposedly woken up to it courtesy of the 'intellectual work' done by 'scholars' such as Ghagga etc.?

You are basically trying to imply that the Khalsa Panth is so foolish, that it has got things wrong for all this time.

Man, atleast if there were actual saint-scholars perpetuating your views one could perhaps see how they can be taken seriously. But it's the total opposite because the anti-DG brigade consists of people that are neither spiritual nor scholarly!

  3. It is a Big Issue of Sikhi. It has become like the Sunni and Shia divide of Islam.

All traditional groups like DDT, AKJ, Nihangs, etc, who have difference in beliefs with each other, but believe in Dasam Granth have come togheter on one side.

Missionaries, normal Sikhs are on other side. They too have differences in believes. Some of them believe Guru Sahibaan to be normal human beings (by which most Sikhs of this category disagree). Inder Singh Ghagga says 5th Guru fell unconcious on Tati Tavi, which I don't agree with. And many other issues.

But there is this MAIN divide, Pro DG and Anti DG... And it is in no way good for the panth. Before I wasn't really speaking against DG but I had my doubts. Just because of that my pro DG people began pushing me n stuff. Once I became anti DG they started name calling me etc... Forcing me to post on net to reveal stuff about DG.

Inder Sinh (singh2) keeps ranting same thing over and over again.

    So, ANY BIR from PRE-1740s?

What do you mean by 'normal Sikhs'?

I consider myself a 'normal' Sikh, and I fully and firmly believe in the authenticity of Sri Dasam Granth!

So now you're saying that people that don't believe in Sri Dasam Granth are abnormal?

  4. Images of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji are the new Diamond studded Khanda medallions! Its only a matter of time before we see clowns like Jazzy B wearing them in his woman demeaning hip hop bhangra videos!

Don't be fooled into thinking that this is some sort of indicator of Khalsa resurgence.

It would be nice to believe that Sant Bhindranwale's ideals are initiating a change in the young people. But it's sad to think that the opposite could actually happen too. What a cringe-worthy thought @ the Jazzy B thing.

As for the Khanda, it's so sad that it has degenerated into a symbol for 'Jatt-ness'. I even had a South Indian friend ask me if the Khanda is the 'Jatt sign'!

  5. Considering that many Ahmadi Muslims from Pakistan are granted asylum on the grounds of persecution, I think Sikhs in Pakistan should seriously consider their options about also applying for asylum to Western countries. One would think they'd definitely have a case for it now given the recent tragic events.

Oh, and the movie about the Hindu from Pakistan imprisoned in India is called Ramchand Pakistani. Quite a decent movie; it was sad to see how the woman prison warden treated the kid because of his caste. So much for Akhand Bharat/Pan-Hindu brotherhood.

  6. The funny thing is that they only venerate Bhagat Ravidass ji due to the fact that he was from a Chamar background!

Although I condemn the ill-treatment of some 'low-castes' by some sections of Sikhs (which was obviously the catalyst for their 'move'), the Ravidassias are engaging in their own form of caste-ism by creating a Chamar-only religion. Seems rather hypocritical?

If only both would actually follow the teachings of the Gurus

  7. Great article that really puts you Anti-Dasam Granth lot in your place: http://neo-sikhism.blogspot.com/2010/02/dasam-granth-controversy-promoted-by.html

Whilst many Panthic scholars who, by nature, are pro-Dasam Granth have had years of training and methodology related to religion, studies of scripture etc, the opposite side is literally naked! In their bandwagon are the ‘YouTube’ Gianis, truck drivers, an excommunicated ex-Jathedar of the Akal Takht and the self-appointed Singh Sabha Canada – what a joke.

    :D

  8. These are the descendents of the jihadis nihungs fought barely a century and a half ago. I see our boys have seriously let themselves go since then......

Can you imagine Jathedar Santa Singh amongst these lot? Could he even handle the marches?

Brother dalsingh101, have you read a book called 'God's Terrorists'? It's basically a history about Wahhabism in both the Sub-Continent and Arabia. The author does mention Sikhs and how jihad was raised against us time and time again. Also mentions how Sikhs had 'long opressed the Pathans'. :D It's quite a good read so you should look out for it.

As for your other point, material successes have on the whole, weakened the Panth. However, if faced with the living conditions these jihadis are in, coupled with the constant warefare that has dominated that part of the world for so long, I am sure we would also be just as crazy (although without the jihadist ideology).

  9. These naastiks always love to bring up Charitropakhan to boost their cause.

Although it probably does warrant a separate thread, have you people not listened to this: http://www.patshahi10.org/audio/katha/Giani-Sant-Singh-Maskeen.mp3

Available in its English translation as well: http://khojee.wordpress.com/2009/12/28/charitropakyaan-katha-by-sant-singh-maskeen/

Seriously, give it up already. True believers of the Tenth Master will have no problems digesting such content. Remember, it is not only the content but the context and purpose that need to be considered when analysing the works of Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji.

Such simplistic minds can only see in black and white. That is why they fail to understand. Hopefully they break away like the Ravidassias, considering their leader has been excommunicated and they already have the borderline makings of a cult.

Clearly they are no friends of the Panth as they have already shown that they are not only Anti-Dasam Granth, but are also against Sikh sovereignty.

    /end rant.

  10. I've seen that Gurkha video before. Gruesome as it may be, I cant help but be in awe of the power of the kukri, because by the looks of things, a buffalo/bull isn't the easiest animal to behead in a single blow!

No one can deny that these guys are pure warriors. Look at the kids witnessing such a scene!

Can you imagine any of the Punjabi/Sikh kids being able to watch such a thing without squirming?

  11. Aussie nazi scum. What are they playing at? Loads of attacks lately?

Mate, I don't know what's been going on lately, but there does seem to be a problem in Melbourne concerning attacks against Indians (that too mainly Punjabis/Sikhs).

There were prior problems in Sydney, however that was with local Lebanese youths. Over there the apnay took to the streets for a few nights due to the lack of police assistance. I'm not sure if there has been any further problems since then.

However, in Melbourne, from what I have read and heard, it seems that the attacks have been carried out by white Australian bogans (our equivalent of chavs).

It just seems ludicrous that the Victorian police continue to deny that there is a problem with racism against Indians.

This led to cartoons being published in the Indian media depicting the Victorian police as KKK members. This has led to a massive backlash here, and I have personally seen the true colours of the goray as they are up in arms about it and have made all sorts of comments trying to downplay that their police force (and society) is racist and that the Indians are making a fuss over nothing.

If you read the article at http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/nation/sikhs-call-for-security-after-melbourne-temple-attack/story-e6frg6nf-1225819478091 , it isn't just the one Gurughar that has been attacked in Melbourne.

Moreover, the one that was burnt down was located in a semi-remote area away from residential and commercial dwellings. This alone suggests a prior anti-Indian/Punjabi/Sikh motive for such an action.

But nevertheless the police continue to deny any racist problem.

If it does continue, I feel that the local apnay should not have any qualms with taking the law into their own hands and protecting our places of worship on our own and beating the hell out of any bogan that comes within 500m of a Gurdwara! Lets see what the police say/do then.

Like NWA said, 'F*ck tha police!'
