Thank you for creating this topic, To me they are spiritual, if I am on the same page.

Dharam khand : First stage( realization) when we get into bhagti or start reading Gurbani. we start thinking about Salvation or Nirvana. Example: Reading Gurbani, doing any ritual to show devotion. For me, this stage was or is reading Sukhmani sahib ji. Just reading it to find peace, did not know the meaning, was not following it, merely reading it. some things I heard were oh by reading Gurbani, you won't gain anything but Maskeen ji said many people start here. They read Gurbani or do jaap to get their wishes fulfilled and eventually kundalini start rising up and they start developing love.

Gyan Khand: second stage ( practicing) , when we instead of just reading Gurbani, we start practicing it. We bring it into our Day to day lives. Example: becoming Sukhmani sahib ji, try to do what it says whether it's talking about Doing Naam Simran or meditation, getting rid of rajo, tamo, sato or not doing what to others which we don't want happen to us. Acknowledging our Ego and realizing how its trippin most of the time lol. Gaining humility, humbleness, letting go of selfish nature and other vices.

Saram Khand: Third stage( Effort),  we start working hard to achieve the main objective of life which is to get rid of this life/death cycle. We have love for Vaheguroo and guroo, regardless of whether we are in comfort or not, or whether our wishes are or will be fulfilled. I am listening to Maskeen ji ( brahmand di alolak katha) while typing this and he just said birds are returning home and they are chirping singing and are content, they don't care about whether they have food for tomorrow or not. This kinda resonate with this Khand, there is no worry about tomorrow, surrendering to creator and making an effort to merge with it.

Next two Khands are for advanced people. There are some people over here who know them or have glimpse of them. I am a bad candidate to even talk about them lol

Karam Khand: Our bajjar kapats( divine door) are opened, panj doots are controlled, maya is showing its full power to tackle seeker on this stage, dasam duar is opened, rom rom naam simran and connection to creator is created.

Sach Khand: Stage of Truth. Salvation.

As my first read Gurbani was Sukhmani sahib , i can relate to what you say . Very well explained indeed .

  2. Also, why would Guru Nanakdev ji come up with Mool Mantar as Ek Oankaar ..why not something related to Vishnu ji ?

We need to understand the skeletal difference and mindframes of spirituality in Punjab  ...Punjab has been influenced by Vashnavism and Shaktism strongly. There is more of Narayan , Damodar , Madhav in the Aad Granth sahib ji and more of Chandi , Bhawani, Durga in the Dasam Granth sahib ji . Though both Granths as we know transition to worship of the Nirankar, the names of the Devtas display familiarity with the beliefs of the people then.

Aad Granth sahib ji has a strong bhagti base and Dasam Granth sahib ji has a Shakti base.

  3. The Vaishnav traditions have the typical topi as adorned by Bhagat Kabir ji too..however that is restricted to some people , also if Guru Nanakdevji  has travelled upto Mecca i doubt He would do wearing a topi..the turban He wore would be considered a neutral headgear and worn commonly by most people during His time hindu or muslim.

I have a picture of mine dresses as Sikandar or Alexander , generations down if someone from my lieneage manages to get hold of it and then draws the conclusion that i was from Roman or Greek lineage what could be said then.

  4. I have done both the paaths however i dont restrict myself to the timings ..everyone has a different stand ..in Hazur sahib many say that Dasam bani is not for Amritvela..i had once asked the late Swami Brahmdev ji he too said to do paaths around mid morning .

I personally feel if you have the bhaav and pyaar for the bani you should do the paath whenever you feel the ras to do the bani.

    2)jumping

3)kicking with one leg and shouting

    4)rolling of the arms

    5) In the background you have light music

    6) You do Waheguru simran

etc.. etc.. hope you get the feel of it

Theres different classes , beginners and advanced ( only went to beginners)

Then near the end , Mata Ji tells Sikh stories/ and about Gurbani . It was quite good I thought

Thanks Raagmala Ji.... I have no choice but to just wait it out till Wed (unless it gets more severe then she said go to ER because the base hospital can't do any more than what they were anyway.  We no longer have an ER on base but we do have full diagnostic imaging and lab.  But the pain wow.... I wasn't expecting that. Only other thing she said was stay away from tylenol in the mean time because it can also elevate those tests. Hoping I passed it (if it was a stone) as things seem to have calmed down.

Sounds like stones in your gall bladder ..if that is the case after the U/S then check with the size of the stone ..if its small you can have hot water everyday and it will pass off in the urine ..the pain must be around the liver i guess ...am i right ?

  9. Gurpreet i feel what you are feeling and i too am in the same phase ..however i have overcome the feeling to have anyone ..it took time and still do start yearning for sangat at times...i might have mentioned this before in another post and am saying this again..say if you doing simran of the Mool Mantar ..try visualizing every word..

Ek Oankaar - The huge sky with lots of prakash

Satnaam - Here you could visualize Guru Nanak dev ji Maharaj raising his finger, there are paintings in the pose which symbolizing Him indicating that the Naam is the Sat the Truth

Karta Purakh - Visualize the world engrossed in their duties and light flowing in the directly enveloping the world, which means that with the grace of Waheguru everything is happening .

Nirbhau - Blank silence ..fields with breeze blowing ..no movement

    Nirvair - same like Nirbhau

Akaal Moorat , Ajuni Saibhang  - I again visualize the huge sky with bright Prakash here

Guru Parsaad - Visualize the Guru Sahibaan bestowing their blesing on you

Jap . Puase a bit possibly no thought

Aad Sach Jugaad Sach Hai Bhi Sach Nanak Hosi bhi Sach - Visualize the Whole Universe with all the planets the earth ..and Guru Nanak dev ji in meditative pose

I am no expert but i am just giving my 2 cents just as how i feel...sometimes i visualize all of this sometimes just focus my mind on my words ..if this is helping you well and good.
