We have to realize in indic vedic philosophy term vishnu is referred to both sargun and nirgun, at times its referred to maha vishnu (nirgun), shiv is referred to sada shiv. It's little more complex just like how sri guru gobind singh ji deh shiva bor mohe for nirgun - paratma- almighty not sargun shiv. So before jumping to conclusion we need to really contextualize whats being said as we would for gurbani.

Just to add bhaisahab ..it is mentioned Shivaa here and not Shiv..Shivaa is for Sri Bhagouti ji

Just eat special langar at any rich Gurdwara and if you don't have control you will feel the same.I used to be so lalchi that whenever tasty langar  was distribuited I used to eat 5-6 roti's along with rice kheer etc. From past 4-5 months I changed this habit.Moral is if you don't have control , it doesn't matter whether it is hearty veggie langar or meat curry ,  you will suffer

    Absolutely true bhaa ji

  3. Gorge on meat ..tandoori steak and curry and see if you can wake up at amrit vela...you wont even feel like doing sadhana ..you will burp and blerch ..feel lazy...alcohol will not allow you to do much of anything ..take down a few pegs of whisky and try chanting the mool mantar ..see the opposition from inside. You wont even feel the vibration inside which you get normally.

I am saying this from personal experience ...not any books or kathas ..when you get 'high' on sadhana you will hate alcohol the most.

I havent had alcohol since 8-9 months now ...not that i drink often ,,my drinking quota was 3-4 times a year but the after effects lasted a couple of days atleast.

I am not saying one should be vegeterian or a teetotaler but if you love the feeling you get after reciting bani you will automatically stop having ..i still eat meat but its like 2-3 times a month. I slaughter my chicken so its not even that mercy feeling inside me ..its just that whatever is heavy to digest ..too spicy or anything extreme affects the brain and while doing Paath you notice it .

I am not even a Nitnemi..so please dont feel i do lot of sadhana....i am just sharing the after effects i underwent and realize why Sants avoid it.

This is untrue!!! My second home is Srinagar! Every Muslim family I have met has given me Kashmiri Pink tea, biscuits, roasted corn, etc.  I felt completely safe walking around especially near Dal Lake... except for all the shikara boat walas all wanting me to go for shikara rides... they were competing with each other for lowest prices.  The shawl walas in the parks etc too are very agressive trying to sell their wares but aside from that... The Exhibition is really nice for shopping.  The public in general are really nice!!! We live right in Civil Secretariat area!

Since you are a foreigner there is fascination and you have a husband who is local

How well you treat motherly figures by feeding them hormones to make them produce 5 times the milk they normally would, take away their newborn calves so they violently cry out for each other for days, allowing the baby cows to starve to death usually or sell them for meat, hook the Mothers up to milking machines nearly their whole lives, stuff them full of antibiotics to try and combat the massive udder infections caused by machine milking and the oversize udders from hormones, and then kill them at only 4 or 5 yrs old when they no longer serve their purpose as milk machines cutting their lives short by about 75%.

Yeah you really treat your Mother figures very well eh?

I do agree to this Satkirin, i have had these arguments with the cow protection units i use to volunteer with

  6. My father was a follower of Ramkrishna mission and had got me initiated by them , this initiation (diksha) brought me closer to Sikhism . From that day i felt the need of Guru, i was not able to follow the Guru who gave me initiation and then passed away. I never had a conversation with him, but the prcess made me conscious and i mentally accepted Guru Gobindsingh ji Maharaj as my Guru.

  7. This is the belief of Puraatan mat however when we believe in 'Aap japau aurah naam japaavahu' there this concept then doesn't create a hurdle.

Saadh sangat in bhagti turns into a group session of sadhana.

What i personally feel is when you get higher as your position rises, inside you have a feeling of calmness and this calmness itself will keep you silent . You wont feel to discuss your achievements.

Those Sants while doing katha when they reveal the 'secrets' i feel it is due to hukum they might get from inside to guide people .

This is what i personally feel ..Waheguru knows the best.

Hinduisation of sikhi will hurt them more.Once million of Hindu's will go to Gurdwara instead of mandir then their shankarcharya will declare war on sikhs.

Just look what they are doing with Sai Baba worshippers. there are images of Hanuman smashing Sai baba , There are millions of Sai baba bhakts if this will not stop they too will declare sai babaism as separate religion.

Can you imagine Picture Hanuman Hitting Guru Nanak will do?

Yea there are weird lot on both sides ..i guess Marx said it right religion is an opium ! lol !

To be honest, I have had my experience with some RSS folks and am apprehensive of them. They've toned down their rhetoric from the good ol' "Sikhi is the sword-arm of Hinduism," but they have political motives to appropriate Sikhs that *should* be recognized. It's ideologically defunct in how far it takes its notions of "purified India" supposedly free from Abrahamic firangi control. Just on my timeline today some RSS stooge claimed that more Bihari and UP immigrants needed to come to Punjab and make it once again "Panch Nada" (the name from Vedic times) instead of the Persian "Punjab." Not that I have anything wrong with the bhaiyya workers, but the whole ideas is rather ludicrous.

However, that said, our community uses RSS as a catchall for literally every single negative thing. RSS is not this illuminati-type Big Brother literally inserting itself to undermine Sikh history at each and every point. To be honest, it's kind of interesting historically; just like many in our community blame RSS agents for everything because they're perceived as enemies of the panth, in old times, did Singh's conjure up conspiracies about "Turk" agents everywhere?

Anyways, I felt that the entire story was entirely vacuous and hurt my brain to read.

yea i too have had my arguments with them and asked them to stop using their 'brain' to hinduise Sikhi since Sikhi in the puraatan form is more hindu than the so called 'fusion' hindu identity they perceive.

I gave them a simple logic if i were to bring up my child as a singh what will i tell him when he asks me why dont i cut my hair while others hindus do ? the child will be at loss to understand how does keeping kes make any difference to him when wothout it he will still be a hindu .Khalsa is niara and will always be niara...

In puraatan maryada there is respect for the Devte as yoddhas and no way will they be equal to Akaal     Purakh, they are sewaadaars of the Akaal Purakh according to the Sikh view of Dharam.

I am not liked by the types of them easily and i just maintain my stand .

My situation is worse since i am from a hindu background , for the negative type of Sikhs i am a rss agent and what not and for the rss types they take me for a separatist . I use to joke with both these types that someday both of them will come together to fight with me .
