  1. Why so serious?

I think they’re hilarious, and as far as the pics being used as leverage by kalay moo valey afghana's followers, I don’t think a picture of his face on a goat will sway they’re mindset from the direction its already headed.

It maybe funny, but I do question the motivation of the person who created them and their mental state. You defeat words with words, not iditic picshop manipulation.

  2. the people that made niddar singh sign an apology were not fat. didnt really see anyone flying about then.

and for your info, niddar singh spouted venom on his website about taksal/akj first. to say that they were the ones who starting dissing him is laughable. he hates taksal as he believes that the tankhaya of Baba Santa Singh was due to taksal.

I know a lot of people who disagree and openly criticise the Taksal (and rightly so), yet I do not see venomous campaigns against them?

Could you post the link where Nidar Singh started saying bad things about Taksal too?

  3. Randip Singh

There's no reason why the Koran MIGHT not have been studied there but it is highly unlikely. We can easily say that Robinson Crusoe might also have been studied there but then that is also highly unlikely. Because we are discussing a time when the Sikh literature refered to the rule of the Khalsa as a time when the Maseetan, Sunnat and Baag would all be destroyed. I suppose Niddar Singh keeps quiet about that!

    One question:

Did our Guru's study the Koran?

  4. One of the main problems we face as Sikhs today is our lack of knowledge on Gurbani. Given that gurbani is the very source of our existence, its not a good position to be in. Many of us have become sikhs of 'sikhi to the max' and not neccesarily sikhs of Guru Granth Sahib Ji. While we may be able to sing all night and give literal translations to the more popular shabads sang at rehnsbhai's, our depth of understanding doesnt seem to go much further.

One of the reasons why is because we have stopped reading.

Many will now say that you dont need to read teekeh and old granths, and that if guru ji wants he will bless you with understanding of the shabads. Seems strange why the elder sikhs therefore felt the need to read these pothia, wheras the modern super sikh will simply get blessed with understanding from the guru.

That is a major assumption you have made that modern Sikh scholars lack knowledge of Gurbani? I would argue that many of the so called religious scholars may know one liners in Gurbani, and be able to recite them parrot fashion, but not have any deep understanding.

Many Sikhs of old have fallen into the trap of not understanding the context of which a shabad was written and rely heavily on Sakhi's, of which many are simply not true.

Now when I say this, I do not mean all old Sikh scholars, as there are many of note who are very good (eg Dr Gopal Singh), and there are some modern ones who are equally as good.

  5. Shaheediya, you are completely right here. This bhagat singh fellow is trying to dilute Sikh history. By him creating fake characters and adding his fake story's in then the next generation will not be able to tell from what is true and what was made up so a couple of people could make money off Sikh history.

This sounds like someone just trying to make a quick buck with no regard to keeping the Sikh history the way it is.

Come on man, it is no secret you don't like Bhagat Singh and chased him all around SPN and other forums.

    Bhaghat Singh,

Keep up the good work. If anyone has studied Sikh Art, and I can recommend a good few books, you will note how much Sikh art has changed.

I mean, I saw an illustration of Guru Gobind Singh wearing a Patiala style pugh? If anyone knows about pughs they will know that probably never even existed around that time, but in the artisits mind, that is how he saw Guruji........and that is fine. Everyone image of the Guru's is different.

  6. WOWWWWWW talk about having a huge ego. Randip if you believe you are learned in Gurbani then you should teach others the meaning of Shabads. To hold this over others is a very very very bad thing Randip. Let's follow Guru Sahib and kill the ego.

    Take Care Randip

I am not in a position to teach anyone in Bani. I do recommend people understand it themselves rather than just reading it.

Many people here will not understand Braj, therefore I recommend translation by Dharam Singh and Jodh Singh.

  7. Yes, that was a good forum, too bad it went down hill for some reason. If it wasn't for you and a person named 'Facts', sunnyjatt would still be on Sikh forums distorting Sikhi to furthur his jaat paat agenda. Back then, you were the ultimate crusader against Jaat-Paat.

The irony of it is, I have been brought up in an environment to make me quite pro-caste. I would be lying to say I do not have those elements in me, but my attitude is always Sikhi first.

You will recall I had battles not only against caste but:

-sexism - the lobby that saw God only as masculine

-homophobia - the lobby that directs hatred towards homosexuals (so much so they accused me of being a homosexual)

-metaphor/liberality brigade - those that could not distinguish between some of the more non-literal elements of bani - also Vaaran Bhai Gurdas.

-the Sakhi brigade - that believe that ALL Sakhi's are 100% correct without historical analysis.

-Meat/Vege brigade - ongoing battle that resurrected its head in the 1920's when there was none before. Both are acceptable in Sikhi and people should get over it.

-Jatha/Sect/Dera vs Mainstream Sikhi - I often get accused of hating Jatha's groups and Baba's/Sants/Bhai's and being pro-others.

    and a few more.

But I really don't mind being accused as I have great mentors who know me and know I have no malice. I do like playing devil's advocate though. :)

  8. No offence Randip Sian but being eloquent doesn't make someone right! I remember he made some claim a few years ago that the Koran used to be studied in the Bungas around the Durbar Sahib during Maharaja Ranjit Singh's time. Yeah right! The Badshahi mosque was used as a stable but the Koran was studied!

why wouldn't the Koran be studied? Sikh's have reverence for all religions. Bani makes references to the Bible, Koran, and Vedas.

From what I understand the Guru's were familiar with these texts. Studying something does not necessarily mean you believe in it.

In anycase, going back on topic, I think it is more than just being eloquent, and says more about some of the nindya portrayed by these so called Panthic groups, being inexcusable.

Anyway, just my opinion...just like you are entitled to yours.....and Nidar Singh is entitled to his. :)

  9. was Niddar Singh severely beaten up by taksal or akj? probably not, so why does he spread lies and venom about them on various forums and his website?

Now that I would like to see. All those skinny AKJ/Taksaler's I meet daily flying left right and centre. :)

Amazing how brave these fellow's are in defamation of fellow Sikh's, but put a Musalman or Kala infront of them and they run to their mummies. :)

  10. "I think he meant that Niddar Singh spreads his hate through his chele who are on various forums."

Could you provide examples of this? The only hate I have ever seen on forums is that directed towards Nidar Singh.

    So true!

I started reading all this stuff about Niddar Singh a few years ago, and thought the guy must be crazy. Then I realised it was directed mostly by some factions of the Sikh fraternity.

I investigated further. Saw what he had to say. Noticed he and Parmjit Singh (a very intelligent fellow and a good Sikh scholar), researched with his the book "In the Master Presence".

I saw video's on youtube of him talking, he spoke eloquently and intelligently. Then I saw the childish articles on Pathic weekly and the "Niddar the Giddar" video's on youtube.

I read his book, and spoke to other intelligent Sikhs about him. Their opinion was positive.

Saw him fight and saw him on a TV documentary. He seemed to have none of the venom that AKJ and Taksali Sikhs had towards him (although he would have just cause).

What I found was a physically fit, young, intelligent Sikh man who taught young Sikhs how to fight. He led by example.

My opinion now of this man is that he is a far more positive influence on young Sikhs than some of the negativity that is embodied by groups such as AKJ/Taksal etc, via their Panthic weekly nonsense.

I don't agree with all his views but on the whole he is a good man and a good role model in Sikhi.

  11. Only five brother, I don't agree with some of Randip Singh's points, but what's the point in bringing in issues which have nothing to do with the topic? I may not agree with his views but I know he is basically a good Sikh man because I remember reading his posts on the Sikh history forum a few years ago where he would battle anti Sikh elements like SunnyJatt who would try to distort Sikhi. None of us have the same views on this forum, that is what we are here to discuss in a civilised brotherly manner without it turning into a "he said she said" (thu thu mai mai) type of arguement.

    Haha you remember that?

What I found most offensive was how some people tried to insinuate that the sikh Guru's were taught to fight by others.

  12. What i was and will continue to due is show my character and of the people that i know. To go against Sant Jarnail Singh ji and spread lies says alot about the person and what their motives are. Some people have good intentions and stand by their word. Then other's intentions are just to destroy good mens names and increase their own name's fame and of their crew at any cost. It's not hard to see who is who after a year of having discussions. Respected members at SPN will say the same about some peoples character.

If you are going to say other's are doing nindiya, a person should look at their own feet first and see the mud tracks they have left behind.

On SPN there are many people with mud on their feet and I won't mention them because it will be called personal attack. It's visible who these people are and what their motives are.

Nindiya was done of a great Saint and I thought i would point it out since it happened on a forum I used to write at and it was relevant to the topic.

Why are you going off topic?

Read what the admin have said here. I may not be a Niddar Singh supporter, but I bet he would kick you left right and centre in a straight fight, which makes him more of a purveyor of the Sant Siphahi tradition then some internet warriors I see. :)

  13. Don't come here calling Sri Dasam Granth Sahib a lie. If you don't agree with it at least fully read it, speak to those that have vidya over it i.e. Taksals/Dals (instead of using your own manmat), then provide a critical appraisal and have the manners to address an audience appropriately, most of whom complete faith in Dasmesh Pitas bani.

And please don't provide pathetic Afghana/Gagga/Darshani/Canadian Singh Sabhia propoganda as some sort of saboot - although your stance clearly shows that you belong to one of these heretic groups.

Problem is many people come onto forums without reading Bani, or reading Dasam Granth. If they do read it, they do not understand it, they do not understand metaphors and they do not understand the allegorical and contextual nature in which they were written.

What I suggest is ask specific questions to detractors on specific pages and ask them what they mean. It's very interesting to watch these people squirm.

  14. It all depend on how strong your SIkhi is. If your Sikhi is really strong then looking at another women is nothing and looking down when a women is passing by is a great way to advance in Sikhi. It keeps the desire out of your mind. Keep reading Gurbani to keep kaam in check. Sooner or later this desire will be in check and looking or talking to a women will not bring kaam up. And if you feel the women is in kaam then simply end the conversation in a polite way and walk away. Repeating Waheguru consciously when one of the five thieves present themselves and it will help keep them in check. Kaam affects both and don't blame women for you being a victim of kaam. Same goes for women don't blame men for the kaam that presents itself. If this is happening to you then it's a clear cut indication to do more bhagti. With more bhagti comes shakti and with more shakti comes a better understanding of yourself.

Figure out what stage you are at on your Sikhi and take the appropriate precautions to keep yourself in check. This can range from doing bhagti for couple hours straight each day or lowering your eyes when a women walks by or just doing a combination of things to keep progressing on the path of Sikhi.

Just don't start hanging yourselves from trees and running in the woods to be yogis.

This Chitropakhayan story is the biggest lie I have ever heard. How can our great Guru be tricked by some women. Think about it long and hard before you answer. There is so many things faulty about this story. Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji would have known when one of his helpers lied to him. Then you have Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji running at the end of the story. Come on people, why would he run. The Guru never cares about public opinion. Read Gurbani. Then you have Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji flirting with the women to trick her!!!!!! Get real people. Truth is high, but higher is Truthful living. The Guru will never go against this. Further, you have the women's brother being beaten for doing something he did not do. And the Guru if the story was true would have spoken out that the brother did not steal, once again holding Truthful living higher.

Look how this story starts off, Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji wanted to know some mantra.LOL, why in the world would Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji go to another when he is the True Guru himself. For God's sake he is the Guru, not some spiritually unwise person.

The Guru that gave us the Khalsa Panth is asking for mantras from other's and running with leaving his clothing and shoes behind. Seriously get real people and stop spreading these fake stories.

Where is you proof that Chitro Pakhyan is a lie?

Have you read Chitro Pakhya? If so what happens in the section when the women are dancing?

  15. This video is a great way of distinguishing who is right and wrong in this whole thing. An honest man never apologizes for the mistakes he has not made, especially in the fashion Niddar Singh did. Infront of the Jathedar of Takhat Sri Hazur Sahib and at Hazur Sahib.

Were you severely beaten up by Niddar Singh, hence why you spread venom about him on various forums and through Nindya Weekly?
