  1. MR Singh

Ummm, Its actually HARDER to find the time to do naam simran, seva, and paat when you have to be married and live a family life.

    So thats kinda wierd idea.

If a person doesnt get married and lives by themselves, don't they have tonnes more time than married couples to do the simran etc?

  2. You know I am totally amazed.

this verse "Ram raheem puran kuraan anek kahai mat ek na manio" I always thought meant:

People believe in all these ways and talk about them yet the underlying teachings, the basics the mat (understanding) no one follows"

Like I always thought Guru Ji is making us see sense, don't just SAY you follow something and read it and debate about it, REALLY ACTUALLY follow it otherwise theres no point, we will just be like those that had the chance to collect jewels but collected dung instead. (dung being our own ignorance which we will take with us when we die and scare the pants off everyone with our ugly faces)

Anyway, life is too short to go on about other religions, I'm not really gonna change much am I? May as well concentrate on myself.

  3. So let me get this right.

"sardar Jassa Singh Ahluwalia" was actually "akali Nihang Jassa Singh Ahluwalia" and he was a thurkan who took amrit and then was in a ramgharia missal. Or was he a ramhgaria missal. I don't know what that is.

    Ok.

So its from here the Ramgharias (i always thought this was a caste) wanted to make themselves a caste, and made seperate Gurdware. Or its because they were never given authority in Gurdware which were very Jatt oriented and felt a need to make a Gurdwara where they would be in charge. Is that right?

Its very strange. Drawof, so if someone is a Thurkan do they get seperated from the rest of the Amrit taking sangat (at budda dal) and get given seperate amrit? Is it still khande bata dha amrit?

  4. Am I the only person that thinks a dastaar does NOT make a woman look like a man. Is every man really that easily decieved?

Think about back then when it wasnt the norm (Guru Jis times) from afar, those who obviously needed glasses probably thought, yo, heres a guy. Now, the absence of facial beard and the presence of slender/womanly figures cannot mean that girls with dastar look like men.

I hate to say it but men arn't that good looking. Don't flatter yourselves.

COME ON! When will everyone get off the bandwagon????

  5. ms514, I think your attitude is totally forceful.

Quite frankly, who are you tell people to make up their mind about anything?

I mean...honestly, Saihajleen just showed her humbleness in accepting what you said but since i don't have as much nimarta I thought I'd point it out.

Just because other people will criticise, there is no need to rush people or force them into making a decision. If Saihajleen would tie a dastaar and see how it feels for a week, thats her decision.....if she ties it for a year and decides she'd rather not, thats her decision also...it has nothing to do with anyone else.

she asked about people's first time tying a dastaar/pag

    She was asking about

  6. lol this brings back memories :P

I was in india this summer and it was boiling hot, but I couldnt start the day without a cold shower. The fresh...cool...shock to the system was really much much better than a warm/hot bath like my mum used to have.

The only thing is...in England the prospect doesn't seem so refreshing when its black outside and its freezing in the house and bathroom...ah well..I've been inspired!

  7. lol@shasterkovich.

Saihajleen Kaur, dont' worry about people mistaking you for another religion, if thats what they want to do, then let them. It has no reflection on you, you can carry on being the one in the mauja (happiness) of Guru Ji's company. Don't let small things and judgements make you ashamed of the way you are. 8)

Singhni, the skull protects the dasam duaar in ordinary people like me, but for those whose dasam duars are open, thus there is a softness or hole in the skull there, a turban such as the one u described would probably be right.

The only problem is, nowadays no one ties their dastaar with topknot at dasam duaar area, the joora is now lower down for fashion purposes. The dastaar's practicality is being changed to make way for looking good.
