  1. i know it is going off the track but reading the interpretation by the nihangs regarding the farla written by Narsingha is fascinating. However i have been told by many sants that the actual images we see of hindu gods is all metaphorical

I have been told regarding Shiv Ji he is a great sadh. The ganga sprouting from the head actually represents the dasam dwar open an the contant flow of amrit through the body of the divine being. The snake around the head represents the five evil within ones person and shows that shiv Ji is still under the control of all of them and maya. The five evils are not under the control but control the great god.

there was also a reason for the half moon as well however i forgot what the meaning was. i remember hearing this in a divan by Sant Baba Jagjit Singh Ji harkhowalae around july 1994 in Leicester.

For this reason i do consider the interpretation to be incorrect just inconsistant with that put foreward by nirmala sants

i do not mean to cause a debate just putting foreward my arguement against it

  4. i apologise for this as i am aware that this topic is old however it is new to me. can someone show me the following please or guide me to where i can find them:

    1) i would like to read the hanuman natak where could i find a copy of it on the net. if not can someone show me to a e bookstore where i could purchse it.

    2) again with the rehit namas where could i read them on the net or find them published to buy

    3) according to what i have read in the thread this piece is written in the patna sahib bir of the dasam granth. can we confirm this please as for the comparative studies done between the dasam granths at the takhats it was found that the only difference with this granth to the others was that it had 32 savaiyai instead of the 33 as in the others.

    4) we seem to have conflicting views on who actually made this text and what is the context of the text. could someone please authenticate who is the writer?

I am sorry if these are questions that have come too late but could someone please answer these as i am intrigued.

  6. ok this may get contraversial well knowing this forum probably a slanging match but through out the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and Sri Dasam Granth there are two types of sangats that are praised.

    The Satsangat and Sadhsangat

I am sure that all in this forum have been in the presence of the satsangat at some point if not often but how many of you ever get involved with the sadhsangat,

If you does involve yourself with the sadhsangat as i do as often as possible i would like to read your views on why you do so and what it has given you.

For those that do not involve themselves with the sadhsangat i would like to hear your views why? And why you do not even though it is mentioned on many angs of Guru Sahib?

  7. i thought 108 represented the beads of a mala and 108 was complete also i forgot the name of the sacred hindu texts but there are 108 in all this shows complete dvine knowledge as far as i have been informed.

108 is used to represent bhram gianis one has has become part of god.

As far as the refences with names of shiva i was made aware these were more then 108 so that should have no relevance to the number. according to the vishnu sahansar nama which is a hindu bani with just different names of vishnu with different attribute. its composition is similar to the jaap sahib. in this there are way more names then 1000.

108 also represents the major blood vessels in the body linked to the endocrine or hormonal system according to hindu texts. as some of these vessels are gupt linked to the dasam dwar and chakras. it represents one who has total control of their body, mind and soul supposedly howver i have not read anything to support this.

does anyone know of any texts that we could refer to.

if not i will wait for baba hari singh ji to come back to england in the summer and get them to do a divan on it.

  11. Shaikh farid and baba Farid are indeed the same person

During the time of Satguru Nanak Dev Ji the descendant of baba farid who is known only as sheikh ibrahim in the janamsakhis shared many discourses together.

the sufis claim that the bani which is contained within the Satguru Granth sahib ji is from sheikh ibrahim who used the name of farid in his bani in the same was way the gurus all used nanak

however Guru Arjan Dev ji who were nirankar jot would not have made such a mix up as they were the knower of all and they would only put in bani of bhagats that had merged with god and it is definately the bani of Bhagat Farid Ji

However if you speak to the sufis they will still disagree.

  12. also uploaded the nitnem by baba baljinder singh ji from rara sahib for all to download.

more stuff coming soon as even though it has been explained to me cant figure out how to set up an ftp account.

  13. just put on the kirtan hub some katha kirtan by Bhai Balbir Singh ji ex hazoori raagi of harmandar sahib. I have not heard it or found it on the net before more stuff to do with the dasam and sarbloh bani it is taken from the barsi of baba deep singh ji.
