  5. Viewing the Future When Jeanne Calment turned 120 years old, she was asked what her view of the future was. "Very brief," she responded. Don’t you wish the future were clear? It is usually hazy, at best. A lonely frog called a psychic hotline. "You will meet a beautiful young woman who will want to learn all about you," the psychic advisor told him. "Where will I meet her?" he asked. "Down by the old mill stream?" "No," she said. "In biology class." I received a postcard from a psychic advisor once. It said that if I call a 900 number, she would lead me through a hazy future to clarity and happiness. That sounded great! But when I turned the card over I noticed that it was addressed to the wrong house. We had moved from that old address several months earlier. I thought that perhaps she was better with the future than the present. But I couldn't help but wonder, if she doesn't even know where I am, how can she know where I am going? I believe it was Mahatma Gandhi who said so well, "The future depends on what we do in the present." And Thomas Carlyle put it like this: "Our main business is not to see what lies dimly at a distance, but to do what lies clearly at hand." What I do today will shape what tomorrow looks like. I don't need a crystal ball - I only need to live well now. My future will take care of itself.
  6. Set Goals Unless you shape your life, circumstances will shape it for you. You have to work, sacrifice, invest, and persist to get the results you want. Choose them well. You can’t start your planning until you know where you want to go. You are the sculptor of your own image. Have others already done what you want to do? Study them and do what they did. Start anywhere, at anytime, and persist. Stop worrying what others think about what you can or can’t do. Believe in yourself and your abilities. Have the self-confidence to challenge your current situation. This is your life to live; it’s day by day and step by step. Write down your goals. Only three percent of people have written goals and only one percent review those written goals daily. Be in that elite one percent. Vi s u a l i z e the attainment of your goals often. Goals are dreams with dates attached. You will only become as great and as happy as the goals you choose.

  14. Intelligence [For your reading pleasure. Enjoy!] One day, three men were hiking and unexpectedly came upon a large raging, violent river. They needed to get to the other side, but had no idea of how to do so. The first man prayed to God, saying, "Please God, give me the strength to cross this river." Poof! God gave him big arms and strong legs, and he was able to swim across the river in about two hours, after almost drowning a couple of times. Seeing this, the second man prayed to God, saying, "Please God, give me the strength...and the tools to cross this river." Poof! God gave him a rowboat and he was able to row across the river in about an hour, after almost capsizing the boat a couple of times. The third man had seen how this worked out for the other two, so he also prayed to God saying, "Please God, give me the strength and the tools...and the intelligence...to cross this river." And poof! God turned him into a woman. She looked at the map, hiked upstream a couple of hundred yards, then walked across the bridge.

  16. GOD, Does He Exist??? A man went to a barber shop to have his hair and his beard cut as always. He started to have a good conversation with the barber who attended him. They talked about so many things and various subjects. Suddenly, they touched the subject of God. The barber said: "Look man, I don't believe that God exists as you say so." "Why do you say that?" - asked the client. "Well, it's so easy, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God does not exist. Oh, tell me, if God existed, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children?" If God existed, there would be no suffering nor pain. I can't think of a God who permits all of these things." The client stopped for a moment thinking, but he didn't want to respond so as to prevent an argument. The barber finished his job and the client went out of the shop. Just after he left the barber shop he saw a man in the street with a long hair and beard (it seemed that it had been a long time since he had his cut and he looked so untidy). Then the client again entered the barber shop and he said to the barber: "Know what? Barbers do not exist." "How come they don't exist?"- asked the barber. "Well, I am here and I am a barber." "No!" - the client exclaimed. "They don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with long hair and beard like that man who walks in the street." "Ah, barbers do exist, what happens is that people do not come to me." "Exactly!"- affirmed the client. "That's the point. God does exist, what happens is people don't go to Him and do not look for Him; that's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

  18. Success Sutra: The Joy Of Confidence Most people are always striving to better themselves. It's the "American Way." For proof, check the sales figures on the number of self-improvement books sold each year. It is an indication of people's awareness that in order to better themselves, they have to continue improving their personal abilities. To excel in any situation, you must have confidence, and confidence comes, first and foremost, from knowledge. You have to know and understand yourself and your goals. You have to recognize and accept your weaknesses as well as your special talents. This requires a kind of personal honesty that not everyone is capable of exercising. Getting up out of bed in the morning; doing what has to be done; and all the while increasing your own knowledge - all this very definitely requires a great deal of personal motivation, discipline, and energy. But then the rewards can be beyond your wildest dreams, for make no mistake about it. Confidence gives ... -You the ability to laugh at rejection -You a way to grab people's attention -You a quick and easy way to rid yourself of uneasy tension -You superior listening skills for peak performance Warning: It will cost you if don't have confidence but it will amaze you with what you can accomplish once you MASTER it! Now go out an experience the joy--it is time for you to have the same success as others.
  19. It is due to Mr. G Vaidyaraj who donated all his wealth, about which he too was not knowing .... He is a descendent of Raja Krishnadev Raya from Mysore district. From last 300 years or so, three stones wereworshiped in his house, but nobody tried to see what it was, except this person who is a lawyer by profession.... One day, incidentally, when there was nobody in his house, he took the stone out to see what it is that we worship. Due the dust depos ited on it from many many years, it looked only like a simple stone, but when he touched it some portion of the stone was cleansed, and he saw a bright ray of light. He saw some thing which attracted his attention and he was amazed when he cleaned all of them. The whole room was filled with light. He discovered the diamonds of about 4600 carats each. He informed the Govt. of India and the news is censored with its security.. &n bsp; It is now deposited in Swiss Bank.. The cost of single diamond exceeds the GDP of USA + UK, India can buy virtually 7 developing nations. Even World Bank does not have enough money to buy it. One diamond costs thrice the debt of World Bank over India. One such diamond can buy 10 Bill Gates to y ou and World Bank has proposed the Indian Govt. that it can pay India in Installment if it wishes to do so. India's GDP is 34.25 billion dollars and Bill Gates property is 95 billion dollars approximate so that is the way "nature changes".. Mr.Vajpayee has refused to sell it. He said it will be sold or mortgaged for credit when we need it. Otherwise right now we have no problems. You can go through Times of India with a small column on it some weeks ago. Star TV presented a 115 min document ary on it about the same time. The Hindu with its half page article in it. After that it was censored classified.
  20. An Indian boy in his 12th standard has disproved Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" . Shocked? Read on... Sudarshan Reddy has theoretically proven the existence of a sub-atomic particle which can travel at speed greater than that of light, thereby challenging one of the fundamental postulates of the "Theory of Relativity".In his recent research paper submitted to the "Institute of Advanced Physics (IAP)" at Trieste(Italy). Sudarshan has proved the existence of a lass of sub-atomic particles called "leptons", which can travel faster than light. The intern ational physics community has shocked by this discovery. Dr.Massimo Martelli, President of the IAP has this to say about the paper submitted by Sudarshan. After long, careful and critical analysis, I can confidently say that Sudarshan's research paper show tremendous leap in our understanding of physics as his investigation mounts up on "leptons". His work builds substantially on the ! work of Einstein and other in the field of relativity.
  21. FAITH A Conversation J-16 An atheist professor of philosophy speaks to his class on, “The problem science has with Krishna”. He asks one of his new students to stand and..... Professor: You are a Hare Krishna devotee, aren't you, son? Student: Yes, sir. Prof: So you believe in God? Student: Absolutely, sir. Prof: Is God good? Student: Sure. Prof: Is God all-powerful? Student: Yes. Prof: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to Krishna to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But Krishna didn't. How is this Krishna good then? Hmm? (The student is silent.) Prof: You can't answer, can you? Let's start Again, young fellow. Is God good? Student: Yes. Prof: Is Satan good? Student: No. Prof: Where does Satan come from? Student: From...God... Prof: That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world? Student: Yes. Prof: Evil is everywhere, isn't it? And God did make everything. Correct? Student: Yes. Prof: So who created evil? (The student does not answer.) Prof: Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the world, don't they? Student: Yes, sir. Prof: So, who created them? (The student has no answer.) Prof: Tell me, son. Do you believe in Krishna? Student: Yes, professor, I do. Prof: Science says you have 5 senses you use to identify and observe the world around you. Have you ever seen Krishna? Student : No, sir. Prof: Tell us if you have ever heard your Krishna? Student: No, sir. Prof: Have you ever felt your Krishna, tasted your Krishna, smelt your Krishna? Have you ever had any sensory perception of Krishna or God for that matter? Student: No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't. Prof: Yet you still believe in Him? Student: Yes. Prof: According to empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science says your Krishna doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son? Student: Nothing. I only have my faith. Prof: Yes, Faith. And that is the problem science has. Student: Professor, is there such a thing as heat? Prof: Yes. Student: And is there such a thing as cold? Prof: Yes. Student: No sir. There isn't. (The lecture theatre becomes very quiet with this turn of events.) Student: Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat. But we don't have anything called Cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but we can't go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold. Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy. Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it. (There is pin-drop silence in the lecture theatre.) Student: What about darkness, professor? Is there such a thing as Darkness? Prof: Yes. What is night if there isn't darkness? Student: You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light.....But if you have no light constantly, you have nothing and it's called darkness, isn't it? In reality, darkness isn't. If it were you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn't you? Prof: So what is the point you are making, young man? Student: Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed. Prof: Flawed? Can you explain how? Student: Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You argue there is Life and then there is Death, a good God and a bad God. You are viewing the concept of God as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, science can't even explain a thought. It uses electricity and Magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one. To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing. Death is not the opposite of life: just the absence of it. Now tell me, professor. Do you teach tour students that they evolved from a monkey? Prof: If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes, of course, I do. Student: Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir? (The Professor shakes his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the argument is going.) Student: Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor, are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a preacher? (The class is in uproar.) Student: Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the professor's brain? (The class breaks out into laughter) Student: Is there anyone here who has ever heard the professor's brain, felt it, touched or smelt it? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established rules of empirical, stable, demonstrable protocol, science says that you have no brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir? (The room is silent. The professor stares at the student, his face Unfathomable.) Prof: I guess you'll have to take them on faith, son. Student: That is it sir. The link between man & GOD is FAITH. That is all that keeps things moving & alive. Love All Serve All .......Be Happy Always.
  22. One’s destination is never a place but rather a new way of looking at things. So thy Success is a never ending journey not a destination. Henry Miller (1891-1980) Writer
  23. Divide UR Activities to Conquer Them A common denominator among the successful is that they are focused on the immediate accomplishment of specific objectives. Separate the important f rom the urgent and allow time for both. Break down any large task into a series of small tasks and start taking action. In the beginning, don’t be too concern e d with how you will achieve your goals. With commitment, re s e a rch and patience, the means will come. Answers materialize when the facts have been collected. Your goals will evolve into a set of action-oriented objectives, which will become a series of to-dos. Now prioritize. If you don’t prioritize your day’s activities, everything is of equal importance. Whether one thing gets done or not doesn’t matter. You want your activities to be important, to have had a clearly defined purpose. Write your to-do list every day. Prioritize it. Make at least one of your daily objectives a chal-lenge. At the end of each day, you’ll be able to relax and bask in that wonder-ful feeling of acomplishment..
