ramgharia Posted April 15, 2015 Report Share Posted April 15, 2015 Uttarakhand: The state police detained Gurcharan Singh Babbar with around fifty other persons at Ponda Sahib in Uttarakhand, while they were on their way to the site of Gurdwara Gian Godri Sahib in Haridwar on 13 april. Sikh jatha was reportedly heading for the site Gurdwara Gian Godari Sahib to free it from those who have illegally encroached upon the Gurdwara. Detainees were reportedly taken to a guest house by the police. It is notable that Gurdwara Gyan Godri was a historic Sikh shrine at Haridwara that marked the memory of Guru Nanak Sahib Jis visit to the place and signified the rejection of superstitious rituals by Guru Sahib.
