- We have long had issues relating to the Sri Guru Granth Sahib with regard to Raagmala, Bhagat Bani and others, these have been in motion for over 100 years now.

- Issues relating to the Dasam Granth have also been in force since its inception with Bhai Mani Singh, despite the Ardasa and heroic deeds of Bhai Sukha Singh and Mehtab Singh (one wonders what happens to the notion of honouring Ardas?)

- Issues relating to even the preparation of Amrit have long persisted given the numerous variations we see documented in historical Sikh Granths from Sukha Singh's "recite mantras" to Bhangoo's "reading of ...and Chandi di Var..." to other permutations and combinations.

In summary, perhaps it is as Vijaydeep Singh has hinted to, mass hysteria drummed up by these issues undoubtedly for underlying political reasons is just clouding what is actually the case in point.

So called "Panthic-Groups" who consider themselves to exclusively have "the" maryada of Guru Gobind Singh on the basis of supposed 'oral traditions' and/or visions of their leaders perhaps should consider what they are really saying - an argument or objection to the Raagmala, Kakkars, Banis, Diet etc today, if given way (as indeed the Sikh Rehit Maryada does by giving 'options' to include those who don't want to read the Raagmala, those who wish to impose their neo-constructs of clothing and diet etc) will only lead to tomorrow further destruction, as it simply paves the way for questioning the Bhagat Bani and all others matters.

Even the Sikh Rehit Maryada, which has allowed for a degree of unity to exist between various factions in the Panth, hasn't stopped these people.

The Sikh Rehit Maryada doesn't forbid vegetarianism just because it allows for (non-Halal) meat eating, it doesn't forbid the recitation of additional banis, just because it stipulates a certain minimum which doesn't coincide with your particular groups (indicently, ALL groups have variances in this daily liturgy and Ardas etc - all the Sikh Rehit Maryada has done is impose a basic minimum), it doesn't speak against Dasam Granth in the slighltest (in fact it clearly approves its recitation in Gurdwaras), it doesn't say a women can't wear a dastaar if wants to simply because it hasn't made this compulsory.

These issues are always going to persist and with the advent of internet and technology the Bhasuarias have sought to increase their 'virtual' presence - I shall refrain from mentioning particular websites out of due courtesy, however it is common knowledge that the vast majority of Sikh websites, Gatka Websites, Scholarly Websites, Newspapers, Discussion Forums (including some of the most established and international ones) are replete with Bhasauria affiliated literature, comments, thoughts and the like.

The reality is that this is an illustion created by much humdrum in the virtual space of the internet, in physical space, the majority of the Panth continues to accept the traditions given that Khandhani Sikh families in particular, be they in Afghanisthan, Punjab, Delhi, Rajisthan, Malaysia, East Africa, the Americas or wherever, have a long tradition going back through through their blood and these families fully accept the Sri Guru Granth Sahib in its entirety, the status of what actually constitutes kakkars, the necessary protocol for Sikh customs and the Sri Dasam Granth - those who speak against these or purport new and invented "maryadas" are usually themselves zealot born agains and hence it is hardly surpurising that they feel the need to reinvent the wheel...
